I was searching info about depression and buddhism because I couldn't shake off the blues, and her talk completely switched my perspective on my sense of self let alone depression

Sorc Erer in other videos she usually say sentient beings which includes all creatures. Maybe she deem it more effective to teach here using humans as example as it’s more relatable to the students.

You can do what Robina suggests: take buddhism as your working hypothesis. If you find it is beneficial and helps you develop your positive qualities and lessen the negative, go for it :-)

I don't even know where to begins. I was curious on how to do Dzogchen meditation but how do I get there from absolute beginner level? I haven't got a single clue where to start to be a Buddhist.

Tyj moko just start reading, researching, you will open yourself up to the path you want to take. For me it started with yoga and meditation, I learned about the four Noble truths and the eightfold path. There is really no where to 'begin' except for your conciousness, that is the amazing thing about Buddhism. There is a short book teaching Dharma and meditation that helped me understand, it's called vipanassa, the art of living. Maybe that would be a good place to start!

If you want to learn about meditation there is no better way than the Buddhist path.

You already started by listening to this teaching. Listen to more (Ven Robby has lots here on You Tube) and eventually you'll find a teacher. Learn to meditate and do it every day. You only need to start with 20 minutes to start with. You're on your way. Don't give up....

To be honest, we as Asians have met Tibetan teachers, with respect I think they benefited us a lot. A little student as me who has lived in Australia for 20 years, I highly recommend Robina to everyone. She has very deep understanding of the teaching and she has worked hard on herself. I have listened to her on UA-cam and Zoom...she is my teacher, my guru. Love you Robina! You really want to help! 🙏🙏🙏🌸🌸🌸

Could use a bit of guidance please.
I seem to have reached some point in my practice but i feel stuck in the middle of an old way of dealing or not dealing with things and letting go of ego to some degree
I get sad but i try not to. I feel overwhelmed sometimes but being on the path is a proper twatty thing sometimes. I cant cry. I know to do that is based on ego and attachments so i dont cry and then i feel like a toddler cos i know crying isnt gonna help and i have these emotions and feelings flapping about which i then have to rationalise when crying would feel better but would be bullshxt. Not getting upset first would mean that i wouldnt feel like that in the first place would be better. Instead of falling apart a bit and then realising what i need to do with how i feel.
I think i need to work on aversion maybe?
    Suggestions greatfully received.
p.s Robina, i really value your videos!

I am finding these talks helpful. I have bi polar and take meds. I know there were 2 sisters of Robina with the illness. Bi polar is very very complicated I do find Robinas comments a bit lacking

I like her personality, but I think she focuses only in humans and let aside the other beings, what Buddhism teaches is not to harm other creatures, is not only about humans

Hi Sendil Coumars! I don’t think it’s in Ven. Robina’s nature to speak slowly. However, you can slow the audio speed in UA-cam which may help you understand her better. Hope this helps! :)

It's not schizophrenic, she means multiple personality disorder (MPD). Schizophrenia is paranoia, not multiple personalities.

    • @arcanedrop
      @arcanedrop 7 років тому +1

WatchingDude not quite. paranoid schizophrenia is a type of schizophrenia. when she says schizophrenia she means delusional. and many people with schizophrenia DO have delusions and are what you might call psychotic. she used it correctly.
