Holy cow. I just learned about APT and just by correcting my posture and engaging my abs while walking, I can actually feel my hamstrings for the first time ever. My weight shifted completely and walking correctly caused my upper leg to actually stretch with each step and I feel those muscles. I never realized how much they were just not even used due to my posture. Just tilting my pelvis also takes so much pulling and pressure off my lower back. Crazy.
Oh my goodness thank you!! I have no idea how your videos popped up suddenly but I am just grateful that they did! 😊 I have limb girdle muscular dystrophy. So, all of my muscles are breaking down and at an alarming rate. In my case, exercise makes the process speed up because when my muscles burn, my disease causes the muscles to NOT regenerate. Once they burn, they break down, then they are gone. However, the stretching and breathing exercises, and sleep positioning and support that you explain are FANTASTIC and help tremendously! 😊 I just cannot thank you enough for taking the time to share everything that you do ❤️
You have definitely been the person who has helped me the most in understanding how to correct my anterior pelvic tilt and how to address having a structurally long leg. Thank you so much!
Your APT videos are showing up for me at such an opportune time! I've been having a lot of left hip discomfort and know that much of it is due to APT and weak/tight muscles. Working on it!
FINALLY!!!! This makes good sense and is realistic to practice. Totally appreciate your explanation after the phrase “you will end up compensating …”. I like to try and fix my idiosyncrasies with appropriate guidance and u just seem to get it and communicate it very well! Much appreciated 😃
I’m 28 and Post partum and finally focusing on being good and healthy to my body rather than those hard runs and heavy lifts. Finally addressing this after living by with APT for over a decade.
This video helped me so much, thank you!! I have watched so many videos for years trying to find help with my anterior pelvic tilt and found little help and no carryover to my gait. I watched this yesterday and am already walking better. I love how simple it is to apply: letting the thigh bone move behind the pelvis.
I started going to physical therapy to help with some low back pain. I suspected it was APT and some week hip flexors and had been watching a ton of your vids and strength side's to help. First thing the PT had me do was the prone cobra press up. He recommended I do 10 every hour for 2 weeks... After watching your first APT program vid I'm so glad I stopped going to PT.
Something about the presentation and assessment could have had him thinking it was a disc bulge, which is one of the most common causes of low back pain and the prone cobra press up helps this but still needs care initially.@@ib1ray
Me sitting here wishing my pregnancy hadn't absolutely destroyed my abs. It's so hard for me to engage my abs now. I'll keep working at it, but I know the road is going to be long. Correcting my hips as a whole will probably be a life long commitment.
This is literally me right now after 2 babies in the space of 3 years, stomach muscles gone, chronic lower back pain, and an anterior pelvic tilt that I can’t seem to correct 🥺
I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw Robocop because when I’m having a flare up and I’m walking, I’m walking just like him and thinking about that exact scene. Right before he punches the tv screen from the realtor selling his house. Great video!
Hey! I have quite bad pelvic tilt (I have done for over 10 years) and one of my hips sits higher than the other whilst standing. I have a lot of back pain whilst walking etc and waking up in the mornings. When I try and move my body into the correct posture for example: sleeping, standing or walking, my back pain and chest pain gets extreme and I find it hard to keep it into that position for longer than a couple of minutes.. is this just because my muscles aren’t used to being in that position? Should I carry on trying to keep my body in the right position or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
Uhm when making the anterior pelvic in posterior position while walking, does that mean when you have belly fat ur belly should look smaller or flatter when you do this because you tuck it in?
@@GiggleOutfitter i believe so, I have chronic tendonitis in my knees and i now have plantar fasciatis, weak muscles cause over compensation elsewhere, and then those tight muscles end up pulling on nearby connective tissues and causes strain
Last time I went to IKEA I was out and in bed for the rest of the day basically from my back hurting. I feel like I have no idea what my posture should be.. I didn't even know I had an APT until this year... And I'm 28... It's also likely that I scoliosis of some sort... Which I also didn't realize until like.. the last month. I knew I had signs of some thing weird going on. But I never had anything to put it to. I'd love to be pain free while working and standing at my desk I have a fairly strong core, a strong back, and decently strong hip flexors from dance. Strong hamstrings, but very inflexible hamstrings. I've never been able to do a split
I have APT and painful hip impingement on right. Trying to stand without APT or even just strongly contracting my glutes while standing is painful on front of hip. Hurts a lot to stretch that hip flexor. I've had this issue for years.
When walking on the weight bearing leg does your pelvis kind of drop down or rise. I can do both and I can’t walk. Been to therapy and no one helps. It’s a timer and stupid exercise where they don’t watch a thing

i threw my back out yesterday and accounting for APT feels good for my back
It's ALL connected.

Yeah that seems like it would really aggravate the situation as opposed to helping it! Why on earth would the PT recommend that??

Walking should come naturally, but I'm learning that I can use help.
It's only natural if we've seen others do it properly AND have ample time to practice. In a chair-bound world of convenience, both are VERY unlikely.

Is APT related to hip impingement?
This would be great to know. I am experiencing both ATP and limitation in my hip internal rotation. Not sure which problem to fix first.....

I actually do that because my height doesn't growing

What about posterior?
Will these exercises also correct posterior pelvic tilt?
Can you fix apt by wearing a back brace
NO.

my buttocks are too tight and rising up can my buttocks be normal again if I do this exercise
I think walking like this may be the cause of my painful big toe nails, they are ramming into the toe of my shoe maybe because of walking this way

so just engage abs..?
