Last time Puerto Rico's basketball team went to the Olympics, in 2004, we did not win a medal, but had the pleasure of beating team USA 92 to 73.... hope to do the same at Paris, but adding a medal to it.....

I'm very happy for my team Puerto Rico. It's been a long olympic drought. I've also followed courageous Lithuania for many years.Extraordinary people. Only 3.8 million and yet they fight and win against the best in Europe and the world. They will be back !! And so will Puerto Rico!!

I grew up watching Lithuania hit us in the face so many times and they always beat us. By the way, they are a great team and we admire them. Finally, we managed to beat them, in our house and with the ticket to Paris!!! 🔥 💪🏻

What was shown here wasn't even 50% of what we can do. All of our best players said they'll play AFTER qualifications. I guess they won't now. Sorry to disappoint you, but It wasn't the real team.
@@robertasgar6387 for me to be "disappointed", I would have to agree that all of what you wrote somehow magically means you would have beaten us. It's not like we were amazing last year, which means this particular group and energy now would have been a problem for any team. Not like we don't have a history of beating the best in the world before, or anything. Your team's could've's would've's and should've's are for you to process as you will, but by no means are they some absolute measurement of a certain outcome as you've convinced yourself of, especially not with this team we have. Brazil, Spain, Greece and Puerto Rico prevailed in their Olympic qualifying tournaments on Sunday. The 12-team field that will compete in the Paris Olympics has now been finalized. The other eight teams had already secured spots in the 12-team tournament. Puerto Rico grabbed the last spot by dispatching Lithuania, 79-68. Jose Alvarado scored 23 points as Puerto Rico qualified for the first time since 2004. Puerto Rico is on Group "C" along with the United States, Serbia and South Sudan.

All I know is PR's coaching staff prepared really hard to work Europeans teams from the defensive side. Before this tournament PR had only 2 wins vs Euro teams in 20 years and they got 2 out of 2 on this tournament. They deserve lots of credit.
