I have this same texture and considering cutting since no style will last on my super fine hair. Very frustrating but you did great and gave me ideas. I typically do a faux hawk with my hair brush the sides back.

Cheri Claggett it honestly depends on your hair texture. My hair has to be laid when it’s Tapered it looks bald so laying it down works better for ME

With the right gel 4A-Z hair will lay down but her hair is very fine so it's just easier for her to lay her hair down.
