This bass line is so annoying and extensive but sounds so good when you master it.

Awesome cover :) Just noticed while listening to the "original" that on beat/section 3 where you play the low A, the bassist in Men I Trust plays the higher octave of A. Other than that it sounds pretty flawless, got a nice tone that fits the song aswell 👍

Do both! I started guitar in November and my brother convinced me to also pickup bass and I’m so happy I did. They’re both fun in their own ways Playing bass seems to make me a better guitarist and guitar transfers to bass in a lot of ways as well :)

Hey! It's a rumble 100 and i don't use it here, its just for the scenario ahah! I use the focusrite solo to record everything.
Hey bro I’m just starting out on bass the last week or so, any tips? This is one of the main songs I’d love to pick up but it’s slightly beyond me. How long you been playing? And how long did it take you to get this down?
I've been playing for 2 years, but that is relative. On the first year I played A LOT.
Start slow and find some resources to learn from like talkingbass.net , awesome organized website with a lot of free content. You also have BassBuzz , its an amazing youtube channel for begginers.
Develop a practice routine and stick to it , try to find out what you should be practicing by consuming educational content. And of course, try to learn some basslines you like within your level.
Once you put the time and start to develop your technique and knowledge of the bass you get sounds like this one almost instantly, but you really have to put the time! Good luck, any help i'm on instagram to talk!

man how can you make your bass sound so funky? my bass sound much more metallic and i dont touch the fret at all, do you use any pedals?
or like some turn up bass or treble on your amp
It probably has something to do with the quality of the bass. I think in this song I'm only using the neck pickup, which is really low and deep. A lot of tone comes from good technique tho. I would have to hear you play and see what your bass is for more details

I can't find the way to reach the same sound of the bass. I don't know if I should buy something else to achieve it. Can someone help? I have a Squier Classic Vibe '70s Precision Bass and a fender rumble 200 bass amplifier.
I don't the use the amp to record, it goes all directly into the focusrite. It's a very dry sound, I use no effects. It's just a mix of choosing the right pickups for the song and playing technique :)

Yeah , I agree! When its fast you get the line easier because there is always stuff happening , slower you make more mistakes. Its all about repetition tho
