I'm a 64 year old old school southern racing guy. Jeff Purvis is one of the greatest wheel men ever. Could drive anything & win. Thanks for the memories Jeff!
As someone who grew up with 57’ chevy sportsman dirt in my dads garage and loved late model dirt until the wedge, then lost track of…didnt know about…”late model” until i saw the o show on my tv in 15’…im VERY SURPRISED that records werent kept, VERY disappointing how little all of these GREAT cars, drivers, mechanics, races, tracks thought of all of that effort.thank god for you tube, i watch everything i can find history wise.
Awesome! Interview with Purvis. He is definitely underrated driver if people only knew how good he actually was on dirt and asphalt. I was lucky enough to see him win on both and you knew his cars was always clean and fast!
Great interview. My dad worked for James on the construction side of the business for 20+ years. I remember one year my dad drove the hauler over to Pensacola and Jeff’s kids and my son were all little then and they played in and around that hauler all day long at the track.
Wow, what a fantastic story. Jeff was so great when he came in to meet Bubba for the first time before this interview. He has such a great character and obviously he had it back then as well as his family. James Finch is a great person as well.
Saw jeff at kingsport tn in 86 saw how he drove and was impressed met him and became friends followed him where ever he was it was so exciting then watching 18 the rookie watch jeff ever move just like jeff watched larry moore and he worked at watch buck simmons the best in the bussiness then and forever thanks for the video thanks for asking jeff first jeff is the best
So just found the BS-ing with Bubba Podcast! This is Great! Growing up in north east Indiana ASA was the ticket just missed the Mark and Rusty years. Winchester/Salem/Anderson/Toledo/Berlin! Bob S/ Mike E / Butch M/ Dick T/ Randy S/ Harold F/Gary St A/ Ted M and many more. Sure would like to see Bubba get the Snowball Derby win in a Senneker chassis!
Thanks for the comment, Gary. Our team appreciates you explaining your fan history, especially when it sounds like most of us SLM race fans. We found something we loved, and we're sticking with it. Let's keep moving forward and growing back to where we once were.
Hey Bubba, just watched this and I am a little older then you, but I remember Jeff when I worked on a dirt super late model in the 80’s when we ran a Rayburn. He was awesome. Hope to be back at the track again.
Ill never forget Purvis pulling the left front tire off the ground about 12" and carry it to the start finish line in that dirt car at Huntsville Speedway back in the late 80's .
Awsome first show Bubba couldent have had a better guest and true legend of the short tracks and the sport i think jeff is a very under-rated driver as far as nascar i think if he had the chance and opportunity with a top tier team during his time he would have been a star good to see you both and best of luck the rest the year Bubba
Jeff Purvis, the only man to win The World 100 and The Snowball Derby. The most underappreciated accomplishment in motorsports history. Should be rated even higher than winning Daytona and Indy imo. Much more competition at those events. I've thought he wasted his prime years in NASCAR though. Finch ended up having a pretty nice NASCAR team eventually, but when him Jeff first went racing in the Busch Series they were so out gunned resources and funding wise they didn't have a fair shot.
@@BS-ingwithBubba Oh, I know! Unbelievable how unrecognized his career is. Another legend I'd like to see an interview from is Larry Moore. Like Jeff he's a top 5 DLM racer of all time who won a bunch of pavement races as well. Won in USAC Stock Cars, ASA, and ARCA. Also raced USAC Sprints and Silver Crown cars. Kyle Larson is an amazing talent, no question. But, there's a big difference between him and guys like Moore and Purvis. He isn't hands on with the construction and preparation of his racecars like they were. Those guys were their own crew chiefs for all their big wins.
This would have been a lot better if Jeff could have finished his stories and listened to him more than talking. This is a great idea though. Thanks for sharing 😊
@@BS-ingwithBubba oh I'm certain of that. I'll be watching for more. It's just I've been a Purvis fan for years. Ever since the 89-90 Era reading about him in the Dirt news papers that showed up at the local dirt track.
You would be better off letting Jeff talk with out always interjecting or your not going far in this profession. Ruined a great interview talking about yourself now watch it over.

Couldn't agree more!
Thanks for watching our video and we appreciate the comment.
I wish I was around to watch him back then.
My all time favorite driver Jeff Purvis
Donnie, Jeff was such a great race car driver.
@@BS-ingwithBubba yes he was very underrated driver but won a bunch of very big races
Purvis was my favorite. Saw his Snowball win. He could diamond the corners at BIR.
That's amazing you were there. Very jealous. I didn't even know what a Super Late Model was until 10 years ago.
I always enjoy watchin Bubba race. Watch all the time on Flo racing but yet to see him race live. Someday!
There is nothing like seeing a race live, come on out one of these days and introduce yourself to Bubba's crew and him. Thanks for watching.
Come on down to Five Flags Speedway, he races there often and wins alot, still seeking that illusive Tom Dawson Trophy, Snowball Derby win!!!
Great Show!!! Purvis is awesome! Well done Bubba !!!
Thank Ty and Tom, we both did really good in this podcast. More to come.

Great Show. Damn i wish I grew up in your part of the woods.
We are all country, aren't we?
Awesome Podcast, sad that it ended early. Me and my dad are big fans of Bubba and Jeff so we really enjoyed this episode!
So glad to hear you and your dad do this together. That's so awesome. Thanks for watching.

So cool to have these stories!!!!
I just discovered your podcast. Awesome interview, thanks!! Can you get Bob Senneker, Mike Eddy or Butch Miller?

Thanks so much, Dean! I appreciate it. We will do our best the rest of the year.
My Father in Law Jim Smith worked on his DLM crew.
That's so cool, he must have a lot of cool stories.
Good stuff, Bubba!
Thanks, Aaron Creed.
I was just wondering the other day where Jeff Purvis was and what he has been doing ❤ now I know
LO, that's amazing how the timing worked out for you to find this when you did. We appreciate you watching.

Do not forget the All American 400 3 times. He was Kyle Larson before Kyle was born.

This was a great job by both podders. Do you not think Bubba wasn't a little nervous. Thanks for the comment and, more importantly, watching.
