The genius legacy of Dylan is only now starting to be fully realized…thank God he’s still alive, which is not usually the case when we look back on phenomenal artistry
LOL!!1. The woman singing in the background is none other than Emmylou Harris, a very successful and famous (and beautiful) Country-Western/Folk/Bluegrass singer-songwriter.
Dylan’s Eastern European roots are coming through in his singing here. It’s almost like a Hebraic prayer that he surely heard growing up in synagogue. Powerful performances from this period. You might consider from the same album “Sara” a song for his wife as they were on the verge of breaking up. He never name checked a love interest prior to this song as well as revealed the inspiration for one of his most well loved song from the 60’s.
Great reaction again bro . You are awesome..keep those BOB coming...he has more..oh yeah.. try .Black Diamond Bay.. Hollis Brown... Senior..(the album.. SLOW TRAIN COMING..is nice..)
Love this song! Great reaction :) That's Emmylou Harris on backing vocals. Another Dylan song you might want to check out sometime is "Simple Twist of Fate."
Great reaction. Going along with the theme of moving on to the "next stage", check out "Silvio", recorded with members of the Grateful Dead, and co-written with Robert Hunter, also of the Grateful Dead. Enjoying your journey into Dylan and hearing with new ears, songs i know well.
That second verse with the father suggests he's having one last cup of coffee before going to have to go down in the valley to challenge him for her hand.
This song is quite possibly my all-time favorite by Bob Dylan. Pure poetic perfection with a peerless production. This whole album is a masterclass of non pariel songwriting.
Oo! Oo! This is fire! And, that female backing vocalist is Emmylou Harris, a star in her own right. You definitely want to take some time to explore Emmylou's catalogue. Her genre are country, pop, and country/pop crossover. My favorite album of hers is called Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town, but you should maybe ask your other followers for recommendations, all I can say is that I've never heard her sing a song that I didn't enjoy.
Bob never records a song the same way twice, the thumbnail was from Desire, Bootleg #5 Bob Dylan Live 1975 with The Rolling Thunder Revue has this and several other hits. It's the best tracks tracks from 4 different live shows that year
I recommend listening to Black Diamond Bay. I've never seen anyone react to it. Or, Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts doesn't get the attention it deserves also. PS, thank you for doing Dylan - the music of my life since my sister made me listen to him in '66. Love your reactions, btw. :)
Shawn, cool stuff. Suggest:......"Here comes my baby" "Think of me" "Dance the night away" "All you ever do is bring me down" "Pizzaricco" "Here comes the rain" by Mavericks

He found the violin player walking around the streets of New York and invited to come play on the album (scarlet Rivera)
Bob's the man. Head down that rabbit hole.

Absolutely.
Ah, Emmylou Harris! Thanks! I suppose she probably has a great catalog to dive in to as well
She does :) I'm just starting to discover more of it myself. I like everything I've ever heard by her. @@ShawnSalvadori
DESIRE. THE only album Dylan had a co-writer for most of the songs. Jacques Levy
another master piece from the man. try reacting to blind Willie Mctell.

I wish you did Dylan more often but of course it has to be natural

YES..LOVE THEM..
He spent time singing with Gypsy's in France.
The way they pronounce “tuh-dah vah-leh beh-low” is such a small thing but melts me every time.

Eric Burdon did a pretty good cover of this song
Have a listen to I and I. It is pure poetic genius
