I sold one of these Spoke blankets and the customer was VERY disappointed in how thin the blanket was, just FYI. Also. Spoke just crams the blankets into a bag and it came all wrinkled. I ended up refunding the customer just so I didn’t get a one star review. Personally, I think the customer was over reacting. I now make sure to put “light weight” in the description to avoid issues.
I’m guessing it’s the throw blanket? If so put that in your description. That it isn’t a thick blanket but more a decorative put over your lap type blanket. These blankets are still cosy you just have to describe it in such.
I have been researching a lot of these type of tutorials and I have yo say some are very good. However yours definitely deserve the title as the best I have seen. Clear, concise and easy to follow. ( once I get my ears attuned to your accent, I am a Brit). I hope to do something simular in the new year as a little bit of extra and keep my hands and mind active. I am a retiree (60) and haye doing nothing Signed for your free course. Great thanks ! Chris
Ah, I love everbee it's so helpful! I'm just getting started on Etsy, but getting my first sale this month felt so good! Finges crossed with help from videos like this one, I can go on and make more sales soon!
Fleece blankets are definitely go-to product for Christmas. I chose merchize's fleece blankets. They got various sizes and good overall quality. But shipping might take longer (they're based in south east asia)
OMG! I haven't had any sales in my store and practically given up but watching your great video made me check in my store and I have my first sale yayayay. Only taken 6 months...P.S as for Printify blanket selection in Uk is so bad only one selection and its not up to much. I need to work out if I can sell to USA
Hi Heather, thanks for this great video and I was able to follow it step by step to create my first custom name blanket listing as a new Etsy seller. My question is about the mock up. I did purchase a nice mock up on Etsy as you suggested. But while trying to use the mock-up I realized that since the pattern was created in Printify with a click of a button, I had no PNG file of the design (with the full pattern) to drop into the mock up image. I ended up creating a look-alike pattern design in Canva in order to use it with the mock up. 😅 Is there an easier way to do this if I didn’t just want to use the Printify generated mock ups? Unless you just take a screen shot of the pattern populated in Printify and drop that low resolution file into the mock up images purchased on Etsy? Thanks!
I loved this tutorial!! I as trying to figure out something that I realized from your video so I appreciate the time you took to show these details. I am having a lot of trouble having glyphs appear too. Would you be able to cover that in a short or through a tutorial? 😊
Me neither. I was going crazy trying to figure out how the sellers got the colors they offer. I looked through several POD provider blankets. lol. The learning curve is fun 😅
Haha to this comment! I just looked to my book stack now and fixed the upside down book. It was right side up at one point but I accidentally elbowed the stack and it fell down😅
Hi Heather, thanks for your wonderful video! 🥰👍 For the Personalization, first row is Name, second row is Color (to print that name, not color of the blanket?). The fulfillment by Printify is not 100% automatic? We have to manually generate the blanket with the 2 input rows? Can you show a customer ordering the blanket and what we need to do with the 2 inputs after that? Or do you have a video that shows the fulfillment of the Personalization data portion? 🤔 Are there [placeholders], like in email responder, where Printify can auto accept the 2 inputs and auto generate the whole blanket (without manual approval/generate)? Thanks again @itsheatherstudio
Use HelloCustom to automate these personalizations. They have data input sections where AI picks up if its a name or date so to put the customers data in the right spot on the design. They have great tutorials on youtube as well.
I was able to follow up until the point where you selected the personalization below the product description in Prinrify. I do not have that option, it goes from Description to shipping information.
Thank you for blurring the shop names … I’ve lost a well selling item because a fairly large channel put it in their video as something to copy and it got hundreds of empty clicks in a few days and costed me over $100 in Etsy ads clicks because people were searching their channel name and Etsy kept directing them to my listing. Literally that item’s whole ad feed was different variations of their UA-cam name. Until I caught it and turned the ads off.
I was able to sell 2 design blankets on Etsy before 2 of them were taken down. They were from Alibaba. I was so upset. I am now doing digital downloads.
An answer to your question: if a vowel is followed by one consonant as in “data” it’s a long vowel sound - “dayta”. If it was pronounced daaaata it would be spelled datta. My grammar fix for the day 😜
So, when a personalized order is placed on Etsy, its automatically sent to Printify, and Printify automatically does the edit? Or do you have to go into each order to change the names?
Nice tutorial. Can you confirm that once the order comes in does it go direct to the supplier and they add the name or does the seller(me) go into wherever the order lands and change the name and push it to the seller? I thought this was an automated process.
Speaking as a future Etsy seller I would not be comfortable selling these . Would I sell them? Maybe. .I personally consider blankets and bath towels etc a quality based product. I have bought inexpensive bath towels for example and been very disappointed. They languish in my closet. Bought better ones "My needs are simple " only the finest will do"
Database, the second that you mentioned are the one that are used. IT terminology are universal and we are all using the same wording for technicalities in the IT sector. Just saying.
Hu! I just started watching your videos and love them! Your so helpful and inspirational. I want to start selling on Etsy and just joined Printify. Just dont knownwhat to do first. Ill have to ck and see if you have a video on getting started 🙂Thank you for all your info and great videos!!
I just opened shop last month. Started with mugs ( sold a few) and then decided on these blankets. Sold 5 so far. Just learning now how to do the personalization and it's got me on edge if I set that up the right way. Still in the learning area you could say. But here's a question, I designed 3 of these blankets on Printify yesterday and bought them for my Granddaughter's Birthdays next week and I was charged full price, not the Printify Premium price, is that normal?
Hi I createcups on print on demand 11$ for one drop ship 15$ to drop ship how much should I sell a plain with design cup is this a choice to make money on etsy
thank you for a great tutorial. thinking out loud here. if every single name personalization/customization is stored in printify's file system, that's a staggering amount. any way to delete these from printify once you're done with them? how long do you wait before you purge?
What current wood products are selling like hotcakes on Etsy right now?? Also is there anyway to predict what wood products might be trending (selling) high(er) in 2024?!?! Thanks
I tried to follow your tutorial on Printify. However, I don't have the same features that you show. The create a pattern and the features below that are not on my screen. Is this a premium feature that to you need to have a premium membership for?
Noone talks about the poor quality of printify and other print on demand goods. I personally would never but anything knowing that’s the source of a product.
A newbie question but you have to pay the provider before Etsy pay you - and in some cases it can take weeks… so if your product sold like these, potentially you could have to pay out hundreds before getting any return?
Regarding the mockups, you're suggesting to order samples for every single listing so we can photograph them and post them? I may have not understood this piece.
I suggest ordering a few color samples of the blankets to take a picture of the shades together. I don’t recommend ordering every single listing you ever create though. It could help product pictures if you’re a really great photographer but it’s better to purchase mock-ups instead for other listings.
Hey Heather, i had an eye on this product and you posted a video.. thanks. Would like to know what about the shipping charge from printify , that is not getting deducted?
The shipping charges are only factored in if you offer free shipping in your shop. I personally would not offer free shipping on this product if that's any help! :)
Hi Heather, I have a follow up question to your answer here. When you offer guaranteed free shipping on orders over $35 in your shop, this creates a problem because this blanket will end up automatically qualify for free shipping. Do you suggest not to participate in the $35 free shipping guarantee then? Thanks for a great tutorial!
I appreciate the knowledge you've provided, There’s this woman I got in touch with during the last economic recession which cost me my job. Ms. Norman Davis helped me manage my assets by introducing my to the best trading method, I earned a lot of $$$ working with Norman at the comfort of my home. I still keep in touch with the amazing lady
I run a mini food business in Paris which have been affected by food inflation and I needed a side hustle that could help me boost my small business, so I could give my employees better wages , I got in contact with Ms. Norman a month ago and my stories became testimonies… I wasn’t charged on my first investment with her. Yes, I received my first returns last week… I’m considering reinvesting
Most family are struggling to survive. meeting Ms Davina Norman has brought me great success. Even with the economy situation I'm still sure of my $15,000 weekly
I want to be financially free , I currently work 2 9-5 jobs and I’m struggling to pay bills along with my moms medical bills. I heard about forex a little while ago and was really interested and wanted to get into for the longest but I never had someone who could help. Can I get her contact? I need her assistance
Is the create pattern option in printify only available on the premium version? I have the free version and do not have it. How would I create a pattern otherwise? Thanks!
No it's available on the free version as well. After you have added your text or graphic to your item, to the right in the Design Box you'll see 'width', 'height,'...the last option in this box is 'Create Pattern'. Hit that button to the right.
I do not factor free shipping in most calculations for the reason that many shops offer no free shipping or variable shipping models such as $35+ free shipping. I personally do not offer free shipping in my shops and this seller I showed offers free shipping over $35 so it's highly variable on sales/revenue. The price listed is lowest price for the smallest dimension blanket 30 by 40 but the 50 by 60 inch blanket(that in my experience sells the most) is $30 increase without a sale on. The profit is estimated and that's why I said 'pricing guestimate' at 3:44 mark because in no means am I saying this is 600K exact revenue nor 300K exact profit~ these are always ballpark figures. In these videos I give estimated numbers to give a perspective of what someone *could* make but not exact, we do not know if these shops are POD, handmade or other and what their day to day expenses are that this profit margin may be higher or lower. Hopefully this makes sense and helps!
This was the question I had. Everbee does not factor in that these blankets are on sale, so it is misleading to think that the profits are high if you try to match to leading sellers price.
Depends on which size they're selling the most of. Only about $5 per blanket sold of the 30" x 40", but much higher margins on the bigger blankets. $15+
I'm confused about CMYK vs. RGB. I understand the difference between the two. I just want to be sure my customers get the accurate color. For example, if they order a bright pink I want to be sure its actually bright.
CMYK is basically a printing standard for color. They have color numbers assigned to each color. This way you can be ensured when you use this number it’s the color you wanted. Keeps everyone on the same page. It’s more limited in color range than RGB. But a lot of professional printing is done in CMYK.
CMYK is what most DTG printers and printing machines base their color selection off of. RGB is okay to use but it does 'translate'(so-to-speak) colors from RGB to CMYK in printing process so certain colors can print a lot differently. Also to note, just in general your monitor screen colors will look different than real prints due to lighting & that DTG machines infuse ink into the fibers of the material it prints on which can cause fading. This is why I suggest ordering samples to start off or buy a CMYK color chart and place on a sample to see the colors on a white fiber product versus colorful/bright product versus dark product to get a feel for how your customer receives the items.
RGB (red, green, blue) is used for digital (anything you see on a screen) which is the spectrum your monitor and tv uses. While CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) is for anything you are going to print. All printers will have these colors for ink. You will get closer to the colors you are intending to print if you go with CMYK.
that is not a printify blanket..its printed on both sides (printify always white on one side) and it is Jersey Knit..also comes in a million colors..so you cant really compare the blankets your talking about..we don't know how much they pay for the blanket and the shipping..apples and oranges
I’m the video I wasn’t stating the blankets shown were POD but just showing if we created a similar product and priced this is the estimated profit a seller could make in a year. Many of the shops shown can be handmade or POD and I don’t ever state that these were POD, just saying that we can compete. 😊 also, Printify does sell double sided blankets now, but I get what you’re saying here!
I don’t buy it. 19 years making my own products and website. Tried 2 years no sales on Etsy POD not cheer related. These people make bank on UA-cam obviously not Etsy.
im not interested in POD, but UA-cam keeps recommending it to me and i keep clicking it! =D I am intrested to know how this idea worked for you in 3 months, what you made on this one product. Keep us updated
Ok … I’m genuinely curious if you run these numbers not taking into account that these items are never being sold full price. Right now for example the $31 retail price on the sample blanket you are using is actually selling for $18. The problem with Everbee is that is ONLY reports the full listing price and NEVER reports the sales/actual price. So to get real … that $17.31 before fees is really $7.66 profit before fees (I also assume this vendor jab Printify Premium to be as accurate as possible). Minis the 6.5% fee, minus the 3% and then minus the 40 cents - the REAL profit this seller is making before any advertising is actually $5.55 - not $14.22. In 11 months - that seller has really made around $119,000 - not $305,000. Nothing to sneeze at!!! But NO ONE is talking about the real selling price on these items - or the fact that Everbee doesn’t report discounts which MANY big sellers are always offering. For all we know half of that is going back into advertising … or that their discounts are higher at certain times of the year. Everbee helps show what is popular - but they are useless to figure out sales. Also in my own shop I have 25 products in one store - it’s very small. I’ve made a couple sales for each and Everbee shows every single sale on one single item. Sooooo … use it loosely friends. Without knowing what they spend on advertising the bottom line is keep it in perspective. $600k in does might really mean $50k profit - so when you have $50k or $100k on sales - see where I’m going?m PS I’m not hating!! I love your content and your attitude ;) I just don’t understand why no one takes the sales into consideration… it’s SUCH a big difference in actual revenue. Sometimes 75% off!
I sold one of these Spoke blankets and the customer was VERY disappointed in how thin the blanket was, just FYI. Also. Spoke just crams the blankets into a bag and it came all wrinkled. Thank you for being the one that breaks the fees down the way I do!! Keep it real. TY

Wow. I learned something new about changing the background color. Thank you. I never knew you could change the CMYK color.

I've been told the same by fam, even had a 30% say they'd want the sherpa only. I'm going to sell 3-4 different types with the same designs. 🤞🏼
Yes! They has been killing it since last year but it dies down after Xmas

Yes! It's super convenient to use.
Me neither. I was going crazy trying to figure out how the sellers got the colors they offer. I looked through several POD provider blankets. lol. The learning curve is fun 😅
Do you have a link for that sweater? It's so cute!
I’ve been doing it for a bit and have little listings and the sales aren’t bad I just need to design more.
I added a few blankets. Got some likes but no sales. Yet.
Woohoo to jumpstarting on this product! 🎉 Keep us updated in a few weeks if you get any sales.
My OCD won’t allow me to watch the video and find out the product as you have a book upside down on your stack.
Haha to this comment! I just looked to my book stack now and fixed the upside down book. It was right side up at one point but I accidentally elbowed the stack and it fell down😅
Oh thank you SO much! I've been aching to produce blankets but couldn't figure it out! Thank you, again!
You are so welcome! Thanks for supporting my channel❤️
Hi Heather, thanks for your wonderful video! 🥰👍

Etsy Ads probably taking half the profit but still good!
My grammar fix for the day 😜
Rules don't always apply in the English language unfortunately 😢
How do you pronounce mono?
So, when a personalized order is placed on Etsy, its automatically sent to Printify, and Printify automatically does the edit? Or do you have to go into each order to change the names?
Hey Heather, if you were researching subniches to design in, what's the lowest search volume you'd be willing to work with?
Go for at least 400 +
Nice tutorial. Can you confirm that once the order comes in does it go direct to the supplier and they add the name or does the seller(me) go into wherever the order lands and change the name and push it to the seller? I thought this was an automated process.

Hi Please let me know how the order is coming in printify plz
Adding personalized blankets now
hi heather, cannot wait whats new
😊
Thank you again Heather😊

If you ordered them in your Printify account, it should be the discounted price. If you ordered from your Etsy shop, you’d pay full price.
Thank you! How do you use Canva instead of Kittle to do the same? Can you show us this but using Canva?
I would also love to see this done in Canva as well.
Me too

I’ve been eyeing this product and been thinking of getting into it
The thing is how to standout when they’re approximately 2 sellers dominating the market.
What about the shipping cost?
I was thinking the same
Go Heather Go!
How......You can make a tutorial this good...
Angel nok, cari seo nya. . Traffic low bat
By the way, where is your location? Need to alarms for my self exactly my time zone
Central

What about shipping?? That's like $6.50
Their profit is actually closer to 170k at 21.4k blankets
I do not factor free shipping in most calculations for the reason that many shops offer no free shipping or variable shipping models such as $35+ free shipping. youre wrong hun, they are all on sale too, so you need to subtract their sale percentage as well and ads, its a lot less that you guys show.

@@mistitrimble3334that one is really expensive. I sold that one before a price increase.
Day - tuh haha imo 😅
🔥
I don’t buy it. 19 years making my own products and website. Tried 2 years no sales on Etsy POD not cheer related. These people make bank on UA-cam obviously not Etsy.
i like you
Damn you're so beautiful
im not interested in POD, but UA-cam keeps recommending it to me and i keep clicking it!
$600k in does might really mean $50k profit - so when you have $50k or $100k on sales - see where I’m going?m
PS I’m not hating!! I love your content and your attitude ;) I just don’t understand why no one takes the sales into consideration… it’s SUCH a big difference in actual revenue. Sometimes 75% off!
