It is amazing how it has worked similar in my own life and my chaotic brain.

    For hypertrophy, yes spending more time under tension per rep, particularly with pauses at the stretch and peak contraction of a rep is scientifically proven to be superior. However, to train close to failure your final few reps should break down a bit.

    I have found my boulder; restoring the natural habitat in my area.
    Cape Flats Sand Fynbos needs to be protected, so that means taking out the invasives, protecting what is present and planting/seeding what is missing.
    So if I work hard and take out the invasives that should take me a few years. During and after that I can plant the natives in, that is another few years. Then, after that, is the fire cycles. Each fire cycle is between 8-15 years, so you burn the field, and monitor what comes up, both natives and invasives, and manage accordingly. Now repeat that for at least 3 fire cycles to get it to a stable level.
    That means if I do everything right I am looking at the next 30-50 years looking out for that field. I tell you what though, it is so rewarding to see things grow and develop. I am happy with my boulder.
    All the best from the Cape Flats Sand Fynbos region.

  • @0ne0fmany
    @0ne0fmany Рік тому +12

    No, you will not always feel depressed.
    You'll feel sad from time to time, but if you learn to focus on the little things in your life,
    and to focus externally on the people you care about rather than focusing inside all the time,
    your depression will go away. Mine did.
    And you might say you are sad because you are lonely, that you have nobody caring about you, but that's:
    A) Usually false.
    B) Doesn't matter. What matters is that YOU care about someone and then for some inexplicable reason, people will start to care about you more.

    • @Rissen_
      @Rissen_ Рік тому +1

    Working out your muscles fastly is good if you can still maintain your form as you'll be able to get in a extra rep or two, but working out slowly is also good because it helps more with your mind muscle connection and will get you more out of the negative half of the rep which is the most muscle building part of the rep by far. So each are good in thier own way.

    Y’know, this reminds of one Adrian Carton de Wiart, a British officer during the Great War and a very interesting man who’s most remembered for the quote “Frankly, I had enjoyed the war.” Now, while this statement does sound, and probably is, wee little bit psychopathic, I can’t help but think that if he did actually enjoy the process of soldiering (which if you read writings, he most likely did), then it would have been a whole hell of a lot easier to cope with the eternal stress of trench warfare, over those who became immortally depressed both during and after the war. Or he was just mad idk.

    Fuck all those words off that's just the staysafe part of you labelling dangers, The feeling, like melting solid concrete into a brick wall at room temperature, just keep mashing it slug, It don't feel like it'll give, but it will,Then it's like getting another limb, like being able to manipulate time.
    Frustration is the name of what it feels like when the brain is learning a new complex procedure, that's the feeling of you're brain flexing,
    Process orientation can alleviate the emotional connection to frustrati0n and learning, Instead of my goal being typing at 500wpm, my goal is type 15 minutes/day. That's it. Now I would say 15 minutes per day at a level I can do task perfectly, Eg typing, I 100% that fucker at 8-9 words a minute, and then, at a point you don't notice at first, your body just let's rip while you're thinking about what to season the mushrooms with.
    Process/ time orientation then means you can do whatever the fuck you want when times up without worrying you should do more blah blah, you've already got yiou're schedule planned,
    AND that's my time for today. Fuck there's stil 2 minutes of playtime, it's taken 2 hours to get this far, And this is just chewing, haven't started digesting yet
