Man this speaks to me - I have stripped back models so many times and I just need to accept that I don't have the time to paint everything to the standard I want. Love seeing a whole army painted and I need to do the same!
I was in my region warhammer store today. And I was looking for a 40k army set, because my friend said I should save that too. I'm actually more of an age of sigmar man myself. So I went to pay for my new 40k set, and the employee says 'So your first set? so I say no, I actually already have quite a bit of storm cast. so the employee gets really excited about the new models and said that Tabletop Time on youtube had a new video about it. so here I am enjoying this video 😂
Must feel great, finishing an army. As a fellow hobby butterfly, I always find it's easier to buy and build, than to finish painting it all.
This made me go "oooooooooo" and "aaaaaaaaaaah"

Seeing your work on the Stormcast has really gotten me motivated to finish painting my own stormcast army! Im currently redoing the paint scheme on my Yndrasta since I didn't like the first go of it. But I love how your army has turned out!

Few people ever fully finnish an armys
I'm sure that a number of people playing the Winter War in Bolt Action have Finnish Armies. 🤭 But, yeah, creating a finished army to anything more than "three-colour tabletop basic" seems like a huge undertaking. Thank goodness for Skirmish games.
I tend to lean towards "do it all, even if it's not the greatest
individually. When the whole army is together, it looks great" but man! Your work looks amazing! 👏

Being a converting and lore fanatic is so relatable. I’ve converted and created so many models, but never even played the tabletop game. It’s nice to see I’m not alone lol

The Tornus model is just so damn amazing. Tbf tho, so many other GW modern pieces for AoS have been just just gorgeous, its like they are all competing to outclass each other.

Seeing the Stormcast again has gotten my chaos-brain working again because I think they would make great chaos warriors (with a lot of converting) just because the poses are more dynamic.
From all the armies out there that can have turned to Chaos, you would take the one army that could never fall to Chaos and turn them anyway 😅
I would love to see how those look, but I think you might have to change the Lore where there's a rival to Sigmar that has taken the idea of Stormcast and has built some himself. Maybe call them Hellcast Immortals or something. This way you get Chaos Stormcast without actually turning Stormcast Eternals into Chaos
@@randifelix It's more just the idea of using the armour as a basis for chaos warriors, because ultimately they both wear full plate armour, it's just that there's more variety and movement in the stormcast. The new chaos warrior sculpts are an improvement on the old ones, but there still just feel a bit static.

I di the exact same thing as dave when it comes to armies i currently have a csm, thousand sons, disciples of tzeentch, tau, gloomspite gitz, skaven, and high elves (for old world) armies all in various stages of work personally i get really excited for a project and i work on it then a mixture of life and just in general a new idea pops into my head. I literally have never even played a single game if 40k or aos xD

You turn Stormcast Eternals into a completely different vibe and it’s so cool!
For my CSM army, i choosed to paint the different unit with the legion paint scheme that fit the most like word bearers for the posessed.
It has the benefit to avoid the boredom of painting hundreds of model the same way, and for a chaos army i think that the appearance of unity isn't as necessary as other army.

Also I know this is an unpopular opinion but I actually quite like the og Stormcast models, chunky-ness and all. I think they’ve aged fantastically and they didn’t need a range refresh. And those that aren’t getting a range refresh and are just going away like the Sacrosanct should’ve just been kept. They still look good.
Yeah I admit I’m still salty haha. It’s just that it was one of the reasons i’ve abandoned AoS
I’ve always really wanted to make a space marine army using stormcast models.
I remember seeing the Stormcast on display at Warhammer World and thinking "How the ever loving F*ck did they do that with Retributor Armour?" and thanks to this channel i now know it's because they used the spray instead of the base coat

I'll fully admit, Age of Sigmar still seems like the redheaded stepchild of the three Warhammer series. Old World is the OG that brought everything to the forefront, 40K is the notable departure while still keeping its own thing, Age of Sigmar...I dunno, just sorta feels like diet Old World in a way? It's like they took the popular parts of Old World and made a series of just that, with bootleg Space Marines thrown in bc 40K is popular

I'm finding the kitbashing nature of new models difficult as well. I LOVE the new sculpts they're producing, but I would like to give them uniqueness that they don't allow. Especially for armies that should have 3-6 of the same unit, why would they all be the same?!

Am I crazy for thinking that the dude on the Stardrake model looks great already lol? I genuinely don't know why people have issues with the dude on it. Maybe it's different if you're a huge Stormcast fan, but as someone who doesn't know much about the army you could have told me that it was released in like 2020 and I would have accepted it lol.
I certainly don't think there was anything wrong with it, however given the entire armor design has changed for the faction and it would be the only model out of place I was keen to do the conversion
@TabletopTime that's fair! I have a similar emotion with my old resin Eldar Shining Spears except maybe a bit more extreme, considering how old that old kit is lol. The old kit doesn't look all that bad (other than the fact its made of finecast lol), and because it's on a bike the bad oldhammer proportions aren't that noticeable, but... the actual design of the armour is so different from the gorgeous new kit that I kinda cringe every time I look at my old models haha.
Also - gorgeous Stormcast, by the way!!! That one little change with the cloth hoods makes them look so nice, and I actually really like the vibe of them. Makes them really feel like these grim paladin figures. I have the Stormcast half of Skaventide sitting in their box, I might do a similar thing if I ever actually paint them haha.

ive not been a fan of this model since its reveal, the robes just hang way too straight down for something thats flying in my eyes, but youve made it look real nice
What got me out of Stormcast is they literally Primarisized them after only a few years of the original firstborn versions...
