Agreed... *some* models great. But despite all the hype none of us will know if its good until after release. I'd like to think an extra year of development should indicate it'll be good... but 2K20 tells us to never believe the hype. lol
The Rock and Edge are by far the best. I don't think Undertaker looks particularly good, but we gotta see when the game comes out. BTW, The Rock's model was made by the RIDICULOUSLY talented Hossein Diba, he's made other great legends models, like an uncanny André the Giant... so I hope he's working closely with WWE on this one.
They need to adopt a more traditional game release structure, support each game for 2-3 years while working on the new one, update it with new features or tech that they discover while making the future release. Add more free content like clothing and offer regular updates to include updated attires for wrestlers who change gimmicks or appearance.
Edge got a biiiiiig improvement, The Rock too, but most of them looks so so good, i'm really happy about that, i just hope that wrestlers doesn't have a dead look on menu poses
I feel like the only reason these characters are looking so good is because of next gen and for us who still use Xbox one/ps4 will have superstars who look similar to 2k20 but with a slight upgrade to lighting effects
That doesn't have anything to do with it it's (the new lighting tech) and (the new scanning tech) when 2k15 came out for PS3 it wasn't even promoted with the same features so this is current and next gen PS4 has a trailer promoting it with new graphics, gm , my rise, my faction PS3 for WWE 2k15 never even had a trailer for the game
The best HBK models are from 2k14 I love that they used the 1993-94 attire as well as the 1997-98 model. HBK has so many great attires that 2k needs to do some form of showcase for him and I’m mad that they still haven’t!
No doubt this is the biggest improvement in any ongoing series in a while, imho. I would give a shout out as well to Samurai Warriors 5 just because of how great the graphics are, you actually look like you are in an anime, not just in cutscenes but in the actual gameplay.
When you said sheamus's model in 2k20 was completely flat, I think you're just bashing 2k20 for no reason at this point because there's literally no difference between the 2k19 and 2k20 model of Sheamus

Can they give us the accurate arena details that some of the classic Rey Mysterio matches were held in? If they want to stay true to history and storylines. It shouldn't be difficult to license arenas and stadiums for games. Maybe I'm expecting too much from 2K games....
I personally think they focused more on the gameplay than the nitty gritty details like rings, after seeing gameplay from the previous wwe it is more needed than graphics but don’t let that fool you as the graphics are stunning !
I still don't think Savage looks quite right. Better than 2K20 for sure, but something still feels off to me...but I think it has more to do with the fact that he can't be scanned and we're seeing a big difference between the scans and hand animation. I probably would have switched Undertaker and Savage in this list with Goldberg and Edge.
You're correct. He still looks like a create-a-wrestler, and a lazily-rushed attempt at that -- same exact thing with Lord of Darkness Undertaker (albeit he looks slightly better than Savage). Speaking as someone who creates faces in 3D-modelling as part of their job, the fact some of these guys can't be scanned in is no excuse. Devs for WWE games *haven't a clue* how to create faces anymore when they can't just automate much of the process via scanning, and it shows... painfully. Not sure what the folks behind this yt channel are looking at lol. And it's not much better when they scan in current older wrestlers and try to de-age them. They haven't a clue how to do that correctly either.

Those I was talking to in the industry basically all said they're usually not interested in making the games look good anyway, they just want the work done as fast as possible (and it shows). I know I'd hate myself if I can't be proud of what I do lol. But it makes perfect sense considering the sad state of things lately. At least with 2K22 it shows how much a two-year development window helps some things, yet they're still cutting a lot of corners.
I'm worried about graphics for the PS4 version. nothing has been mentioned about how downgraded it will be compared to the PS5 version. I going to guess based on the number of ps4s there are in the world vs Ps5s, the PS4 version will be the most common. This is the only sticking point preventing me to pre prder

Let’s be honest here, keep any sports related game updated in order to get fan invested every year is hard specially because there some minor changes in modes or gameplay but it was not justification to make the models worse. The is some PS3/Xbox 360 wwe games that looks way better than the ones for PS4/Xbox One, the fact that the 2k22 version looks this way it only means that 2k knows that ether they fix the problem or people are gonna be playing the AEW game whatever they decided to release it.
i never understood why put old wrestlers in the current games i know i know... the "nostalgia" that has but borders on the ridiculous to have more expensive packages only with versions of the old wrestlers i doubt anyone's going to be playing with the old ones for minutes

Madden has struggled from the same issue n that is trying to not only come out with a better product than the lasr but only having less than a year to do so.
