This sample hits so damn hard! And the visuals, the outfits, the freaking callbacks and easter eggs! this is just crazy!
I still can’t get over the callbacks to their previous comeback(and debut) videos. They took all the most iconic parts and put them in one video. Even down to the camera movement. It’s so sick. And that but with Jisoo where the literally clip from ddu-du ddu-du was in the back was *chefs kiss*. So freaking meta.
I also prefer this one too. Pink Venom was legendary but this has a different kinda swagger. Like pink venom was coming for your throats. This was like, do and say what you want, we’ll just shirt you down without even trying. 🤷🏻♀️
They SHUT IT DOWN This song throws SO much shade at their haters and doubters. The MV is an homage to previous MVs, it's jam packed with visuals and lyrics you have to watch it over and over to discover things. This is why they are where they are. IT'S GREAT

Did you hear it? Jisoo rap!!! And it''s a full rap verse, super kudos to this MV. I just don't know what to say at this point. Better than Pink Venom in a way that it is super new and refreshing to hear. Plus if you could listen to their other songs as well, I cannot survive the title track without smiling and laughing at being proud. This is how great their born pink album is. The best of the best song of all.

I'm going to tell you a Jisoo story; When they were trainees and the trainees were allowed to go home for weekend Holidays. Lisa being Thai could not get home to Thailand . Jisoo would bring Lisa home with her. When Lisa stayed behind Jisoo would return to the dorm early so Lisa wouldn't alone the entire weekend. This is as much of the reason she is my bias as her talent and beauty is!!

I like watched the whole M/V for more than 10 min. I replayed every part so many times, I was checking out every single detail.
And there are references to BLACKPINK's old M/Vs in this video. Like the tank Jennie started on, was the tank in DDU- DU- DDU- DU M/V; Lisa's sword , Jisoo's umbrella scene, Rose's chandelier scene from the same ddu-du ddu-du. The background in the car scene from the starting when all of them are together is from BOOMBAYAH , their debut song; and also Lisa's rap where she is sitting on some heaps and there are some speakers is from BOOMBAYAH too. The bridge Lisa is rapping on is from Playing with fire. And so on.

So I have listened to their "Born Pink" album a few times and I must say that their English tracks just blew me away. Especially, "Typa Girl," "Hard to Love," and "The Happiest Girl". The lyrics are so much more personal and relatable, rather than fillers like Ra-ta-ta-ta. Maybe due to their global success, the group seems a bit more distant to me, but with this album I am in love with BP all over again.
First ime hearing it, when it dropped, I thought it a little weak, but it definitely grew on me.
It's also fun spotting all the visual references to their earlier M/Vs - if you caught the pre-amble before the drop, they played a game of 'spot the odd one out' using stills from their videos - I got all of them, which may be a concern...
It's a TOTAL FLEX!!! LISA is sitting on the large black bags full of pink bills?? COME ON!!!! They ARE totally badass in this one. Keep in mind these are twenty-something asian girls too. But what has happened since their last comeback?? G-idle, among other K-pop artists have gone super hardcore. K-pop is trending super hardcore. They're cussing now in a lot of these songs. And not just Jennie & Lisa,.. Rose' and Jisoo are dropping F-bombs. Their super sweet voices are swearing too. It's a key change this album. But I think it's the way K-pop is trending.
