Blessed Nle yes I’d find what way you skate is more comfortable first (goofy or regular) and practice with that! I wouldn’t think about failing too much bc then you’ll get down and convince yourself to quit. Just keep practicing and you’ll be amazed at how better you will be just 1 or 2 weeks after starting!
Skate more! Learn some tricks and keep posting videos. It's really worth it when you feel accomplished for learning new tricks or just getting better all together

It depends the size is the width basically. I have an 8.125 but if you’re smaller like me stay around 8 but if you’re bigger maybe get an 8.5. I could’ve gone smaller but the design I liked only came in an 8.125.
