- Dixie Carter discusses her life and career, including her marriage to Hal Holbrook, her successful cabaret career, and her long-running hit series "Designing Women" in this 1990 TV interview.
What a classy and talented woman
It's no wonder, watching and listening to her, why so many men--of all ages--found her irresistible. Not only was she gorgeous, her movements and mannerisms are unbelievably sensual, almost feline. Add to that the fact that this sexiness is not a forced put on, but simply a state of being--or so she makes it seem. Either way, it works.
She was beautiful and I loved her style. Rip Ms. Carter, still missing you. Thank you for posting this interview.
She was a class act
Amazingly full life and so down-to-earth. Truly among the greatest artists out there. We miss you, Mrs. Dixie. See you in heaven XO
Dixie Carter just had this natural combination of class ,sophistication and allure that just made her so unique!
Brilliant conversation. Classy in the highest.
I love this period in Time. She admitted that she was not born with a talent for singing. I love her for this. Now days people go way past their natural ability. Now this is class😉
I’m just watching DW for the first time on Hulu and looked for some interviews with Dixie. What a charming woman she was off in real life.
Dick looked and sounded like he was totally smitten and crushing on Dixie. He looked like he was almost blushing.
Very unusual for him, he’s usually fairly reserved, even aloof at times, but he giggles like a schoolboy here.
He always sounds this way!
@@gregoryagogo I disagree. I have seen lots of interviews with him, and he is very different in this one.
Agree lol This interview was too cute.
Dixie was pure class, such a beautiful woman ❤️ She’s always so appreciative & grateful for her success….very humble when it comes to her career.
She was so Amazing! Loved her! RIP Dixie
Who wouldn't be in love with Dixie Carter? She's the classiest woman I've ever seen!
I just simply loved Dixie Carter. She was an awesome, awesome actress. I was so torn about her death. May she rest in peace. 🙏🏽🕊⚘

How lovely, how did you know her?
Miss her spirit.
It's amazing how attractive she was at 51.
Oh my yes
She’s an angel; outer worldly.
She had a wonderful facelift around the start of Designing Women.
Your comment speaks volumes.
And if you saw her in person...WOW. I saw her on Broadway and she was just 2 feet from me. Stunning.
She admits she got a facelift when "Designing Women" started, which was only a few years before this interview. She looked so frail years later when she did "Desperate Housewives", but she was still such a force on screen.
What an incredibly lovely and beauuuutiful Woman!❤️
She was such a class act. She always reminded me a bit of my grandmother as Julia sugarbaker
Simply stunning and so charming!

Delta Burke made me cry when she gave that speech at the reunion...

I was captivated by Dixie Carter from when she played Brandy Henderson on THE EDGE OF NIGHT!!
Wow I don’t remember him being on the air in 90.
It was a short-lived reboot on CNBC.
Are there any ladies with proper handkerchiefs like this anymore? ❤️
I love dick cavet. Wished our show host now days had the respect and courtesy he always showed. I watch him on antenna tv. She was awesome. Love designing women and stay up to 1100pm to see it every night. Love her in the Christmas movie comfort and joy. Very sassy but loving.

Is this the Dixie Carter from TNA?
She won't comment on clashing with gary coleman.
it just got worse, from tv remote controls to porn on your phone, nastiness is getting more and more aggressive and people are eaten up enough with pride to think they're God. The breaking down of the family unit was the first step in unraveling God's handy work
