    Alfred Morris was also gashing the league for tons of yards in that 2012 season. Made it very easy for his QBs.

    Certainly more work needed to get RGIII back on the road, but that`s what it looks like they`re doing now with Scherff & co. If you just protect him then he can moonwalk all he wants back there until everyone falls asleep. That`s how Russell Wilson looks so good. The Seattle line just holds the pocket for about three times as long as any other team. RGIII is faster than Wilson but has like a third of the time. On the other hand Brady has much less time and he just won the SB so who knows.

    this type of stuff kills me, high school all american, college heisman trophy, rookie of the year, tears ACL and now i'm supposed to believe he can't play quarterback. The GM should be fired with nothing more then a text message for hiring a Gruden. Gruden's game plan doesn't even closely match RG3's skill set. The GM hiring Gruden would be the equivalent of a gm hiring Georgia Techs coach to coach Peyton Manning. Can you imagine Peyton Manning running read options all day. RG3's second year he was on pace for 20 tds' and 14 picks its not the worst thing in the world. Mark Helfrich should've been targeted to coach, art briles or any other coach that has a patterned offense for dual threats. RG3 is struggling mostly due to off the field controversy so intense and below the belt, I would argue no qb in the league could focus and perform under those circumstance, therefore they also need to put a hard nose assistant like Singletary to put people on blast for airing out private team problems to media outlets with nothing at stake in the Redskins success. Anyone to even suggest Kirk Cousins or Colt McCoy could lead this team to the playoffs should be escorted to the nearest Hockey game, and chained to the seat.

      Keith Jones Meh, none of them were any good last season. Cousins was good until he started with the turnovers and Colt provided the only highlight of the season vs Dallas. But I don`t think I`ve seen a good game by Griffin since 2012 now. He`s apparently injury prone and was very slow with his reads at times last season. You either have to build an elite team of guys around him to defend him while he dallies after the snap or you have to coach him up to be faster with the delivery. If he plays like he did last season he will be crap again and we can have this conversation all over again.
      I hope he turns it around and plays well. And I think he can if he stays on his feet. But that`s really been the problem now since the Ravens game in November 2012 when he stretched his knee. He plays scared I think and he didn`t in 2012. Hopefully the line will be better now though, The zone blocking too, which was terrible last season. I guess we`ll see. But it`s been two seasons now with nothing positive of any kind. Hard to keep faith.

      I agree with your point but the current GM Scor Mccloughan didnt hire Jay Gruden, in fact there was no GM in place when Gruden was hired, it was Dan Snyder that hired him

    • @politicallycorrectredskin796
      @politicallycorrectredskin796 9 років тому +1

      *****
      Yes that´s true. But Gruden is in the same boat that many of his players are: it is impossible to evaluate both players and coaches when you have a QB who doesn´t run the plays properly and takes endless sacks instead. Who knows if the play calling is bad when the play never gets run right? And who can tell how the WRs are performing when the QB only throws safe, short passes and takes sacks rather than take any risks? Either Griffin makes a play or there isn´t going to be a play. And he hasn´t made many the last two years anyway.
      The big bonus of starting Cousins is that he is so incredibly vanilla that he runs every play perfectly, as if you had drawn the darn thing up with Xes and Os on your TV screen. So that gives you the chance to evaluate the plays properly and to really see the rest of the team´s performance. As long as Kirk paints within the lines and stays on schedule he´s very good. His problems always come when plays break down, like on the first TO on Sunday. But that´s OK. He´s not supposed to be good off script. Really he´s the exact opposite of Griffin who is only good when plays break down, at least in my opinion. And the opposite of Griffin is exactly what we need now while the team is rebuilding.

    • @nollieflipcrook
      @nollieflipcrook 9 років тому

      Are you saying Griffin only takes short safe passes and doesnt take risks? Thats exactly what Cousins does, Cousins didnt throw one deep ball yesterday, Griffin always takes at least 3-4 deep shots a game(even before we had Desean)

    • @justingoodhart8489

      I'm not sure we can say he does have a higher ceiling anymore. 3 years ago, yeah I'll concede to that, but I remember the 2013 games with the birds and skins... he looked awful, he couldn't complete a pass. Kirk on the other hand is an Eagle killer. Even if we won this past monday, i still hold my breath playing against Kirk. Watching Griffin in Cleveland was sad because I remember being so angry in 2012 that the Redskins would be a good team for 10 years because of RGIII, and then it all just seemed to fall by the wayside.

    • @JoiRandom
      @JoiRandom 6 років тому

      Justin Goodhart Shanahan did a phenomenal job coaching RG3 and running an offense that allowed RG3 to get out of the pocket .. RG3 was a terrific athlete but he was never gonna be a good NFL QB he had sooo many flaws .. it was a bad pick .. and he was bound to get hurt taking all the hits he was taking .. so let me get this right .. the redskins spent 5 picks? to draft RG3 and another on Cousins who is now probably about to walk away .. lol .. 6 picks on QBs in one draft and who will be the Skins QB next year ? ... as a life long Skins fan I can honestly say the Redskins are a disaster .. I grew up in the 80s down the street from RFK and I remember the glory days buddy I loved the skins !.. but the Snyder regime has severely damaged this franchise .. HTTR

    • @justingoodhart8489
      @justingoodhart8489 6 років тому

      That's the thing though, after all of that... all of the hell, the fans won't even know who the QB is next year. I lived in Philly all my life and when McNabb was here, yeah he was polarizing, some people loved him some people hated him, but he has a world of accomplishments. I try very hard to be fair to the Redskins but I just cannot believe the state this team is in. Yesterday's game against Dallas was just painful because I'm watching and thinking "They could easily beat Dallas right now... easily..." but the injuries, the mental errors, the blocked field goal and the lousy weather just... has this Redskins team in no man's land right now. Which sucks! It really does suck and I feel bad for the fans who are willing to put up with it because I know how depressing it would be for me as an Eagles fan.

      so now you;re comparing RG3 to Newton? Newton is bigger and stronger Bobby cannot take that punishment, AND what happened when it got down to it? A big L. But lets not gloss over you putting words in my mouth. Plenty of running QBs have made it to the big game. But when it comes down to putting a defense together to stop it for the big game they always do,

  • @nollieflipcrook
    @nollieflipcrook 9 років тому

    And bringing up the sack thing is soooo stupid!! The offensive line is garbage! RG3 gets sacked because of that, Cousins just throws the ball right away and ends up throwing it to the other team half the team

    • @Colstonewall
      @Colstonewall 9 років тому

      +nollieflipcrook "Stupid"? No, that wasn't stupid, your comment is stupid. How come the sacks don't come with Cousins and McCoy? Did you watch the last game RG3 played (this preseason)? He got sacked I believe 4 times in the half he played, however Cousins didn't take a sack. So, how's that "stupid"?
      It's fact, not stupid. RG3 causes sacks by holding the ball too long and running straight into pressure. Perfectly valid comment by the guys.

    • @nollieflipcrook
      @nollieflipcrook 9 років тому

      Bro first of Mccoy gets sacked MORE than RG3 so idk where u got that from, and the only reason Cousins doesnt get sacked as much is because he gets the ball out so quickly, but that leads to bad throws and interceptions, id much rather have sacks than interceptions

    • @nollieflipcrook
      @nollieflipcrook 8 років тому

      +Chris Kavanagh if you read my comment you would have the answer for Cousins. In 2014 he didn't get sacked as much because he just got rid of the ball fast and ended up getting picked off all the time. And Mccoy actually got sacked more often than RG3, so yes it is a stupid comment by them

  • @nollieflipcrook
    @nollieflipcrook 9 років тому

    I like the Junkies but they sound so stupid on this one, especially EB, RG3 is wayyyy better than Cousins and its not even close, they make so many excuses for Cousins and they look for any reason to pick apart RG3, "Cousins interceptions would be easier to coach out of him" NO you're wrong! Interceptions are part of Cousins game! He has always thrown them, you are never going to get Cousins to stop turning the ball over

    • @Colstonewall
      @Colstonewall 9 років тому +2

      +nollieflipcrook No, RG3 is NOT "way better than Cousins", lol. In a normal Pro Offense RG3 looks like he's never played the game before. No one was a bigger supporter of RG3 than me, but that's over now. He sucks, period, end of story. . .
      The reason Cousins is starting is certainly not because RG3 is "better", it's because Cousins is the superior NFL QB. RG3 has no idea where to go with the ball about 80% of the time, footwork terrible, has no idea how to move around in the pocket etc, etc. Not to mention he won't put in the necessary time and practice to get those things clicking.
      I now realize it was Mike and Kyle Shanahan's "training wheel Offense" that made Robert look good his rookie season. However defenses adjust, and you can't run that college/hybrid offense forever. Once the Defenses figured out RG3 couldn't beat them passing, it was over for RG3. You can thank the Shanahan's for making him into rookie of the year.

    • @nollieflipcrook
      @nollieflipcrook 9 років тому +2

      Cousins is starting because Jay Gruden has no clue what hes doing, its as simple as that, how can you be so sure that his opinion is right when he hasnt done anything in this league yet besides look incompetant, and you're second paragraph looked like you copy pasted something that the Junkies said and put it on here, fact is Cousins is 2-8 as an NFL starter and averages over 2 turnovers a game, RG3 has taken a team to the division title before, Gruden never even tried to adjust his offense to RG3s skills, he was just so sure that his offense was the best and that Cousins can run it better which is dumb
