  • Trout opening 2023, it took me a little while to find the fish, but once I did I had great trout fishing catching quite a few trout of varying size. It took me a while to crack the code, but once I did it was worth it.

You show case how to be positive and to keep going. You landed so many great fish 🎣 a 0:10 0:10 nd the fact that you catch and release that you learnt from Rex Hunt as you idolise him it pays off. @robbiefishing thanks for the advice, I fished there a while ago and caught nothing but my dad wants to go, I'd much rather go somewhere like lake buffalo but my dad is set that there's big trout in there😂. Have you ever fished the 3 Kyenton lakes, they don't suffer heaps of fishing pressure and have quality trout along with a few murray cod in one of the 3 lakes called Upper Coliban. It is a bit hard to fish at first but once you find a few spots it's really fun. Might be worth a fish🎣.

What happens to the fish if it takes the plastic off the jig and ingests it?

I would imagine it would regurgitate it. If not, it's stomach acids will break it down.

You should get a small net to bring in a back pack or something so you don't drop so many fish as your pulling them out of the water

Thanks mate. They drive me mad carrying them around, and then the hooks get tangled in them. LOL
If I was worried about losing any of these fish I wouldn't have just lifted them up. I would have left them in the water and taken my time with them like I did the first one.

Oh WOW, I did not know that.
It's because the join in the middle has worn out. It just makes it a firmer fit..

Thanks for the tip mate. I use nail polish. It's really firm at first but then it fits well for 12 months before wearing thin again.
Someone else has suggested that I use Bees wax.
