Gareth isn't fit to be England manager lol. He picked the wrong starting line up and brought on Subs too late. Playing the overrated and not playing well Kane from the beginning was dumb. Since he did play him he should have taken him off sooner. When Subs did come on England played better and Cole soon scored. The likes of Palmer and Toney should have started the game. Its Southgate that messed up really not the players.

It's the modern culture we have here. You can't criticize anyone for not winning, because everyone is a winner. Even though we lost, most people in England don't act like we lost, we think we're winners because we came second.
You have the future King of England that is president of the FA - the one who should fire & hire managers and due to politics he's not willing to fire this massive failure Southgate.
The truth is, he played players who weren't fit and made zero impact game after game. His reluctance to go at teams is infuriating with the calibre of players we have. Kane should have never been on the pitch today. It's time to go Gareth.
What we forget here is he was making subs just before the Spain goal! He was bringing on Gallagher for Bellingham and Tripper for Shaw. That was his MASTERPLAN to go and win the match. 🤷. That says it all for me.

The better team of the night and the best in the tournament deserved to win the cup.
Pickford seved England from an embarrassment. They were lucky enough to be in the final after luckily avoiding big teams until the Semifinals. On the other hand Spain won the cup after beating Italy, Germany, France, Croatia and England.
There was ZERO pressure on the ball - beginning in Spain's end. Kane was allowing 15-20 feet space, simply trotting, never pressuring the ball forcing a bad pass, etc. In the process Spain was able to pass over the Midfield players and place all the pressure onto the England Defense in clearly outnumbered situations. I lost count of how many corner kicks they created - easily ten.

To put it in simple terms The England football team has always been not great who cannot beat top teams like Brazil, France when it comes major tournaments such as the world cup and the euros
England have been jinxing these tournaments for a long time now, why is that when it comes to a major tournament final they panic, sit back and lose against teams such as Italy, Spain but when it comes to a regular match against Spain they had Spain beaten. To tell you the truth England should have won the 2020 Euros by attacking Italy head on for a 2-1 or a 3-2 final score instead of sitting back, panicking with the lame 1-1 draw throughout the entire match which cost them to lose on penalties

The test as to how good Southgate is as a manager will be where his next job is.
Usually the manager is brought in to complement the squad. The FA (if they decided playing style) and Southgate do not match the natural skills of the squad.
He has had 6 games prior to the final where in every game substitutes changed the game - because they had to. He rewarded himself and the same starting lineup in each game. Learn from mistakes. Play players in their best positions. Play in-form players. It’s not that difficult with these England squad being so talented and managed by the best clubs, facilities coaches and managers when away from England. Plug and play.
Who's fault is it that Southgate picks unfit players for matches, or chose to pick unfit players for the tournament? Everyone could see that Kane wasn't fit, but he still persisted. Bringing one leftback who hasn't played since February, and not opted to bring another. Persisting with a forward line of Kane, Foden and Bellingham, when it wasn't working. His substitutions were poor. Numerous players looked leggy, and he did nothing to address that. Has a squad but opting to not to utilise them.
We get nothing but excuses from Southgate. How do you fail with this calibre of players, every flipping time? It is baffling, but Southgate has consistently done so.
As an employer who employs people in a high pace job I make sure my staff get the appropriate rest on my rota for their health and also the health of the rest of the business. What I dont do is notice my whole team is knackered and give them 7 12 hour shifts in a row then say the reason we went bankrupt is because you lot were tired. Absolute weasle

Please don't be discouraged enough to quit, building takes time and enormous sacrifice! You've been so close and have poured so much of yourself into your work and achieved more than any previous England manager has for decades. Don't listen to the haters who love to criticize, they don't know what they're talking about unless they've actually walked a mile in your shoes. Southgate doesn't pick his team based on things that matter in the moment like whether players are fit. All he knows is Foden won the league with City, Kane won the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga and Bellingham not only won a UCL medal but his face is on the loading screen when he plays FIFA...they're the only criterion Gareth thinks about when picking his team. It's reminiscent of the 'Golden Generation' era where subsequent managers were reluctant to drop what they deemed to be "superstars" even when they were playing badly
Everyone knew where and what the issue is...including players and the management yet no one could address it. England's intent and the will to win too remained questionable throughout these Euros.
All fit players were benched and not one of them started.

Kane was a passenger
He insisted on sticking with the same formation, believing it was effective, but it clearly hasn't worked throughout the tournament. Regarding fitness, it's crucial not to select players who aren't 100% fit before the tournament begins. To prevent player fatigue, he could have rested key players in the final group game, but he chose not to. The results clearly reflect the mismanagement of players and his stubborn loyalty to players like Kane, Trippier, Bellingham, and Foden, who haven't performed well. I don't blame these players, as Southgate played them out of their preferred positions. Bellingham's frustration was evident when he confronted Southgate from the field, clearly fed up with carrying players such as Kane.
Southgate's mentality is not to lose instead of going ahead to win, which was reflected by England's performance on the pitch, awkward, disconnected, but somehow working until facing the real deal Spain. He has done his job, not toooo bad, though England gotta move on from him if winning a major trophy is still the goal.
Why are players not fit when they’ve just played a whole season? Why did you take injured players? Why did you not prepare properly for the tournament and you were still experimenting in the group stages? Why did you continue playing Kane when he was doing nothing for the team? Why were your subs so late? The list of questions could go on and on. SG has done well for the team but it’s time for an organised, tactical manager who can create an actual team and get the best out of these players.
And why exactly are you using players that are not fit? This is the one job you have, to pick the players that are in the best form for each position. Your job is not to coach, it is to manage players and decide who is fit and apt to do the best job, that's it.
So it's on the Southgate.

The lack of minutes for Palmer, Gordon, Watkins and Toney is criminal given his comments that Kane and Bellingham were feeling the effects of a long season. In the end a lot of England players have been exposed as massively over rated i.e. Rice and Foden.
Southgate done great job, but today couldn’t make the big call to drop Kane….has been very poor in every single game and once again non-existent. This was the key today.

Implement antiquated tactics why playing players out of position and rely on individual skill to luck his way through one easy bracket after another? Why play a player who cant press if you are trying to be a high pressing team. Kane clearly wasnt fit and it was only when Watkins came on and we started pressing their goalkeeper that we started giving them problems

If they are not fit then don't play them.... Biggest game and we're sending out players who are not 100%. Kane is not fit enough, Luke Shaw wasn't fit enough. Foden did absolutely nothing I don't know why they couldn't start Palmer, Anthony Gordon got absolutely nothing this whole tournament...
