when i bought my savage 110 ultralite in 6.5cm i got 1 box of a bunch of different factory offerings, to try and find the most accurate one in my gun. the bondstrike was the hands-down winner.
I can't help but think this would be the perfect Elk round from a shortish barreled 308 Winchester. I would love to see the same tests out of some sort of 16-19 inch 308, I predict spectacular results! Thank you for the tests!
@@frontlinerejects8029 Right, I saw and loved that video! As great as that video was, it doesn't address what I'm talking about. I think this bullet is better suited to med-low velocity impacts. The lowest velocity you achieved in that 300 WM test was 2451 feet/second. I bet 2451 ft./sec. would be the muzzle velocity of the 180gr., factory load, out of the average 18" 308 barrel. Would you consider doing a short barrel 308 Winchester test? I'd love to see what its performance would be like at around 1800 fps! Cheers
Another excellent video gentlemen. I'd like to request the Speer Grand Slam - not much of a long range bullet, but been good to me inside 200yds for bear and deer in BC.
Very interesting. I was thinking of using this out of a 6.5 prc for black bear this next fall. Now I’m curious how the accubond will do. Almost wondering if it’s a fluke because it’s so different than how it performed with the 300 win mag and that was even at higher velocities.
How did the stated .629 BC hold up in real testing? Just trying to see if the the BC is overstated or not... What elevation was needed at 100 and 500 yards?
I was thinking this bullet would let me use a 6.5 PRC for elk with better weight retention that the EL-X bullet and better expansion than the CX. Now I'm reconsidering the caliber. The 7 PRC is the obvious step-up caliber, but only the EL-X and CX bullets are currently available available in factory loads.
I've been really interested in the 6.5 prc and I'll probably buy one in the near future. If I were going for elk with that cartridge I'd lean towards the 127gr barnes LRX or the 140gr nosler accubond. 7 prc is a great option tho
I can tell you from first hand experience, that at 130 yards the bondstrike 143 grain leaving my 22” barrel 6.5 creed at 2717-2740 fps, that bullet acts like a Berger in a mule deer shoulder. It hit right in the arm pit and lodged in the far shoulder. The bullet was a copper jacket that looked like it had a small smear of lead on it. It killed very effectively, but it made me not use the bondstrike rounds I have for my 300 wsm. I didn’t feel comfortable using that bullet at 3100 fps if I got a shot under 200 yards on a elk.
For what it’s worth, I took a good sized late season cow elk this year at about 80 yds with a 165gr bondstrike from my 7mag. Punched right through vitals, but I stayed off of the shoulders. I was expecting a much longer shot if I got an opportunity, but was pleased with the performance at close range.
@ that’s awesome! Did you recover the bullet? I’m wondering if my experience with the bond strikes is equal across all calibers and grains. I’ve found that it’s usually not the case, but with the bondstrikes, I only know the .264 143’s and .308 180’s.
Nope, complete pass through and left an exit the size of a 50 cent piece. Didn’t lose really any meat other than the ribs at both entry and exit. I’ll definitely use bondstrikes with confidence moving forward.
@ yeah it’s a great bullet. Can’t wait to find them as components. I’ve bought the 264’s and 308’s from Grafs and from Norma, for a pretty good price when compared to what the nosler Ablr’s cost.
I gotta get my hands on some of those. We've got a few other bullets in the chute but we'll try and get a video out on those in the next 2 or 3 months.
It would be nice to see a close-up of the bullet you happen to be testing. Thanks! Good stuff.
2 -3 and 400 hundred provided a good example of controlled expansion at your velocities of 2,400, 2,300 and 2,200 fps. Great test and graphs.
Dave I’m a new subscriber to your channel you have me wanting a 6.5 Grendel now.
@@tomlarue654 Thanks for the kind words and for Subscribing.
Thanks for doing this test guys, I just bought a couple boxes based on the 300 WM test.
🧐 I would love to see you test the 150 grain Swift A-Frame in the 270 caliber! 🕵️♂️

Good job! Enjoy your channel. Even more so after watching others!

The only .308 diameter Bondstrike that Norma makes is the 180 grain offering, and we do have a video on that in .300 WM.

Love the Bond Strike in my 3006
Excellent data as always.
Thanks again!
Becoming a fan of these. Have a couple boxes i've been waiting to shoot. Just have so many 140 ELDMs my gun loves it's hard to switch right now

They tested the Grand Slam in 280AI 2 videos back.
@@echofoxtrotwhiskey1595 ty - I don't know how I keep missing their videos
Great video, how would this compare to the ELD X in same calibre? Have seen the video this seems to expand more would ELD x have greater penetration?

That result at 500 is impressive. Equally impressive is you catching those bullets at 500.
Are you shooting Norma Bondstrike or Norma Bodstrike extreme ? I keep seeing different boxes and I have the long range extreme. Thank you !!!

The factory load from norma in 6.5 creed works good on elk. My boy used it to take a cow at over 650 yards.
Is the BC really high on this bullet? It’s probably fairly thin is why it came apart more than expected.
Check out the long range hunting group channel, they have a cross sectioned bondstrike bullet in their review.
BC can be found in the upper right hand corner of the graph
I loaded Speer's 172 Impact bullet for 30-06, grouped sub MOA. Looks like Remington is releasing that bullet in box ammo. Good time to hunt some jugs.

Could you test 150 accubond in 6.5 creed.
We've got a video coming out shortly on the 140 accubond in 6.5 creed, we're hoping to test the 150 accubond in a 6.5 PRC.
I look forward to that video and hopefully you will test the 130 gr terminal ascents as well.
@TR3403 great bullet
@@TR-uw2sp I would love too - haven't seen them in stock anywhere for years as component bullets
Great video. I would not hesitate to apply those Bondstrikes to any deer's vitals. Damage for sure.😊
great information.. so im guess i would get as good or better results shooting yhat bullet out of my 260Rem. i am 200+ fps faster than the creedmore.
My local Scheels had these in 30-06 for $25 a box, and no limits. I got 10 😂
I'll always be scared of people wearing T-Shirts in the snow
