      We are glad it helped. We've done over 75 "set up break downs" this year and we still learn things. We liked having a checklist in the beginning to make sure we didn't miss anything critical.

      Congratulations on the purchase of your travel trailer! There are a LOT of different videos, and websites, that will have a list of setup procedures. My suggestion is to either write down a step-by-step list, or print one off from a website. It may not be exactly the list for your travel trailer, but you can make notes on it to better suit you. One thing to keep in mind, if you are unsure about something, when you get to your campsite, don't be afraid to ask another camper if they could help you out as well. Most people will be more than happy to help answer questions you may have or even assist you in setting up. Don't be afraid to be "that person" who has a piece of paper with a list on it, walking around your travel trailer making sure you have everything set up correctly. Skipping a step may end up with damage and costly repairs. Also, just a quick tip: If you are not familiar with backing up a trailer, take it to a "Big Box Store" parking lot and practice backing it up into a parking spot. You will have wide open spaces and feel more comfortable the first time you back up into an actual camping spot.

      @@hspb Great tips. We actually have laminated check lists for our trailer and boats. Pre-trip, set up, use, and breakdown individual lists. We also spent time in a large parking lot learning pivot points and backing.

    Just a little tip. Turn your propane cover around. If for any reason the door on top was left open or loose, while traveling it could flop open and you could lose the door from wind pressure. If turned around this will not occur.
    You guys are on top of things on setup!
    Very thorough. Thanks for showing the RV community how it's done!👍👍☝✌🇺🇸❤

      @@stevehughes3977 I was told by someone that filters at the trailer they were worried their hoses got dirty when moving. Personally I always filter at the regulator because I only use that hose for my RV and I'd rather only have filtered water in it.

    • @4EverHoneymooning

A lot of people will tell you "I don't spend any time in the RV because that isn't camping. I want to be outside." But then you get hit with a storm (or two tropical storms like us) and you are in the unit 24 hours a day.

    • @4EverHoneymooning
      @4EverHoneymooning  2 роки тому

      We actually have gotten new steps recently. Same brand, but different legs on the bottom so we are hoping they will be easier to use. Thanks for watching.

  • @caseypries7559
    @caseypries7559 3 роки тому +1

    I carry a level in the camper but seldom use it. The levelmate pro is far superior. I turn it on, put the Anderson levelers on the low side, back up until it says level side to side. Disconnect and raise the tongue jack until it says level front to back and set the stabilizers. Takes 5 minutes tops and it's a one person job.
    Also, your steps are springing back up because you're bending the metal plate they're attached to. You actually needed to lower the legs a hole or so until they set firm. If your door doesn't clear at that point you have some issue, maybe that plate is severely bent. I have the exact same steps on a RW ultra lite so I'm quite familiar with them.

    • @4EverHoneymooning
      @4EverHoneymooning  3 роки тому

      The level mate would be a good add on, but the steps have been bent since day one. We've removed legs, dug holes, and all kinds of adjustments and still have issues. We aren't fans.

    • @caseypries7559
      @caseypries7559 3 роки тому

      @@4EverHoneymooning I've had pretty good luck with mine but I would prefer the LCI ones which have a squeeze release instead of pins to adjust the feet. I often lift and readjust the steps 4 or 5 times to get them just right but once they're adjusted they are nice and solid. I would recommend removing them and straightening out the mounting plate. Then you can get them to work correctly.

    • @4EverHoneymooning
      @4EverHoneymooning  3 роки тому

      @@caseypries7559 I agree. They are nice and solid once you get them settled. It is going in under warranty and we are hoping we can have them fixed/replaced. Honestly, in looking at other trailers of the same size the stairs are much smaller. We've never lowered the legs more than one pin length so I think ours are too large for our trailer. Great advice though. Thanks for watching.

    • @caseypries7559
      @caseypries7559 3 роки тому

      @@4EverHoneymooning If the steps are bent down you wouldn't be able to lower them much and still get your door to shut as I bet that plate is bowed upward quite a bit. I noticed your screen door rubbing as you shut it and that's never happened to mine however the outside door rubs if the steps are too high. I noticed early on that this seemed like it could be an issue if someone didn't realize it and stepped on them while the legs were set too short. It's quite possible it's been like this since you bought it.

    Great video. If you ever want to switch away from wooden blocks an old plastic cutting board cut into 4 works great under the stabilizing jacks and usually costs nothing. Also the gloves, in the hospital I was taught to pull the first one off the same way you did but to use that glove now that it's inside out to pinch and pull off the second so you don't risk any contact but super glad you pointed out taking them off at all.

    Great video - I hook up my utilities in a slightly different order. 1. Electrical (dry hands), 2. Drinking water (clean hands) finally 3. Sewer (clean up using outdoor shower). Adopting your use of grocery bags as cable tamers and glow in the dark tape. Thanks for all the info.

      Thank you!! That is a smart routine you have. We actually do it similar most of the time, but sometimes the water is done later on if we are trying to get the slide out quickly (to access our restroom). We keep 1/3 tank of fresh water at all time.

    Thank you for your excellent presentation of the set-up process!
    Also, & not having annoying background noise/ 'music' overlayed is a breath of fresh air -;).
    Just having the natural sounds around your site is the way it should be & not an orchestra playing - lolo

      The 90 is a good idea. We do flush the water hose now days. I use the pressure relief valve when checking for water in the tank, but not regularly. What's the reasoning for that?
