Ah, unfortunately at 9:06 I mentioned that “so we will be replacing this ‘gasket’ and we will be replacing this top o ring.” However, I see your point regarding any confusion that may come about due to the misuse of terminology on my part, assuming you were referring to “this ‘gasket’” as I did not specify which gasket it was. Again at 9:16 I attempted to elucidate that the gasket to which I was referring was indeed a part of the kit and as such stated “this part in the middle goes right here,” which when taken in context of the picture displayed on screen indicates the fuel injector to rail spacer gasket as seen when I pointed at it with the middle finger of my right hand. Now at 9:59 I mentioned another gasket which seals the injector cup to the injector and stated “if you have another one you might as well replace it.” I am not sure if this has been a cause of consternation; if it has I would like to extend my sincerest apologies, although the gasket’s location was indicated at 9:20 that the gasket sealing the two aforementioned components together was a part of the kit supplied. Around the 10:50 mark I mention there should exist no gap between the fuel rail and the injector to rail gasket (not verbatim, thus no quotation marks). This was, in hindsight referring to the injector to rail gasket (which I incorrectly assumed had been replaced on your’s or other’s parts.) Perhaps the poor quality footage compounded the issue? In my remarks I mean no arrogance; merely to clear up any confusion and provide assistance to fellow enthusiasts! If anyone else has similar concerns, the comment will be pinned for other people‘ s ease of access. Thank you for your feedback and alerting me to concerns with the integrity of the video! Happy holidays!!
This was incredibly helpful, thank you. A note to anyone else rebuilding their injectors, make sure to get a kit that has pinton caps included! Mine did not have those, and one of my caps had disintegrated, and som going to have to pull apart everything again one day to install that tiny little piece.
@@ramblerclassicman221 It was a fuel injector. I pulled the fuel rails and cleaned them and replaced the rubber gaskets on the injectors. Now good to go.
It is a lot better to install the injector in the rail and then install the rail to the engine. You do not want to use a hammer or bang on the rail to install this may cause damage to your o rings or rail as the injectors try to seat themselves inside the rail.
i just got the replacement injectors to seat right and now for some reason my idle is worse then before and there is smoke coming out of the exhaust, not sure what’s wrong now
I let it soak overnight with a rust penetrant, then used a quality wrench and mallet to knock it back and forth to break it loose. If that doesn’t work, try using a MAP gas torch and heating it up to almost red hot (careful of sensors and wiring) then quench it with wd40 or pb blaster (how hot to get it depends on the alloys present). If you can find a good line trench that big, I’d say try that too. Generally the shock of heating, rapid cooling and smacking a wrench with a mallet will break them loose unless you live in the trust belt...
There should be a bit of resistance between the fuel injector and its cup since, I’d I remember right it’s sealed into the intake with an o ring? I’d lube it up with wheel bearing grease to prevent rolling or tearing the o ring. Otherwise, I’d say measure them with a caliper and do some digging to find factory width specs. What brand injectors you buy?
i don’t know the brand, i’m 17 and this is my first car so i just bought a cheap set of 6 off of ebay, i started it up yesterday and the passenger side fuel rail started spraying gas everywhere so i gotta redo the whole thing today and make sure i didn’t pinch an o ring or something
10:53 that Oring is part of the kit, so yes, you have to replace it , you make it sound like is not part of the kit man. very confusing.

Awesome video and great detail. I'm still not excited to attempt this repair, but I am now confident I can complete it correctly. Thank you.
Thanks for the instruction video, best I've found so far.
Sir, you have my thanks! I have a 4runner, same engine, did as you told, you explained every step, one again, thank you!
Great video man. I have to do the same thing this weekend and now i know how.👍👍
I like how you have a list of all the tools you used in the video. Kinda like what chrisfix and Scotty Kilmer do. I’m sure others do too.

I should of done this when i replaced the valve cover gaskets.. great video
Glad to be helpful!
*extremely helpful!! Thank you so much!
Thanks super help helpful. I have a 93 4runner that has a leaking injector.
Mitchell Wright that’s an oof... was it a fuel injector or the cold start injector?

Very informative, step by step. Thanks!

Agreed, plus if you do it this way you risk breaking the injector heads and cracking the aluminum rail or at the very least galling the bores.
Getting ready to do this..thanks for the video. Did you replace the intake manifold and throttle body gaskets?
I did at various times... I can’t count how many times I had the manifold off that engine trying to get the truck sorted!
thanks

Is there alternativ besst injector ? Thank you .
Toyota injectors are by permanent recommendation
how did you get that egr pipe off so easy

how much washers are in each banjo bolt???
Usually two, one against the fuel rail and the union fitting on the line and one between the union fitting and the head of the bolt.
so the replacement injectors i ordered just kind of pop in and out of the cup with very little resistance, is this normal?

How much can I pay you to fix mine lmao
Tennessee Outlaw yeah I get that... I have encountered too many of these 3.0s... they can be a pain lol
