Well done Sir!!! Thank you for this!! Because you are literally the only person on the entire internet that has managed to properly explain the suspension setup of the current M cars!!! Everyone else just complains about stiff ride but have no idea what is going on underneath!!!

I’m on my second X6 M and I love them. Would never buy the 5 or 7 series again. It handles potholes and bumps way better, you don’t worry about your rims and I know I will both kick most cars in the weeds and walk away from a serious accident. Four wheel drive in slippery conditions also makes it very safe. I owned four 5 series and two 7 series amongst others. Will never buy anything else.
How is the suspension I keep on reading and hearing about as not the best..still love the car though...?

I totally agree. I hate when automotive journalist complain about the price. People who can afford these cars do not consider them expensive. DUH...

@@IamJay02 But Jay….in my opinion, in the world economy, that is the case. There is no such thing as “Expensive”. The term expensive is only used by an individual who cannot afford the item. The person who can afford the item would not consider it expensive. Does that makes, Yes or No?
If you are a car enthusiast you should watch this channel. You got a lot to learn. This is not just straight jacket kind of reviews, you are schooled on mechanism and functionality of car system.

I suppose I'd still go for the Cayenne Turbo until the gasoline powered Turbo S version comes out. Or if I don't have the money I'd go for the RSQ8.
And if someone slapped some sense into me at the right moment I'd probably scratch that and go for the M5 Comp or the RS6. Not becase I'm a "bEEg sUv sucC whErE mUh SedaNs" type of guy but with the latter two things are far simpler, imho.
Agreed, but for the sedan/estate, I’d go for a Panamera GTS or Turbo S Sports Turismo.

what bothers me about the Audi's in particular is I've seen too many of them T-Boned and separated completely right behind the front seats. It seems they have very little chassis strength laterally.
I don’t think BMW has won a Competition in the last 10 years. Coming from a BMW owner from a BMW family hahah. That colour is nearly identical to my car.

I love your videos and I am a big fan of your personality, BUT....by way of constructive criticism, you really need to shake up the way you express yourself and your video format. Every video is exactly the same lately with the exception of the vehicle being reviewed. Same words, same expressions, same jokes, same everything in the same order. From a person who is a genuine fan, please shake things up.

I saw the car and my first thought was "Eggplant" (also known as Aubergine). - I don`t like the X6 Design (SUV Coupes in general I guess) but the tech is quite cool - and of course the speed. Great Review like always! - Getting spoiled here.
Love the X6 in ametrin purple, one of my favorite BMW colors, but it needs the bright work imo.

The X6M is my favorite M car.
BMW is very successful in new V8 M power models. Cars like F90M5 and new X5/6M sell the best in class. And they did a way better job than their predecessors. (F10M5 and F85/86 X56M)
Thank god BMW didn't listen to these haters complaining about an M power car too fast or not comfortable enough.
Cayenne turbo and new generation GLE63s are more comfortable and slower. And guess what, nobody buys them.
X6M brings more excitement than other M cars in my opinion. Because you would expect it to be super fast and a good handling in an M5 or M8. But being so fast in a big SUV and can smoke a copier double the price is just pure excitement.

@Hazardeur An opinion is an opinion and a fact is a fact. Actually M is getting the right recipe especially for X5/6M.
Sales figures always matters most for manufacturers. The first two generations X5/6M sold over 41000 units from 2009 to 2018. And The E60 M5 to F10 M5 sold only 40000 units from 2005-2017.
The fact is More buyers chose to buy an X5/6M at higher prices to a more reasonable M5 in your words. And despite the haters, X5/6M remains the best selling high performance SUVs ever.
And the new generation X5/6M sold crazily good in the first year. According to resources it's easy to top 30000 sold units this generation. I've driven both F10 and F90 M5 and to be honest it's super good. But still an X6M is more exciting and more luxurious for me and meanwhile the fact it runs 3.5, 11.5 in straight lines is just mind blowing. And that exterior, interior and the Burmester system are just better. Most people who actually buy this car have a lot of cars. X6M is like a big toy to them. For example supercars are useless because it's impractical and uncomfortable for most people. But still cars like Porsche GT3 has its own market. I currently drive an X4M competition, a Mustang and an Es300H. My main goal is to add an X6M competition to my garage as soon as possible. I've done research on literally every car and X6M is the number one pick for me.
@@jamisonz3365 well, i never doubted that they sell best. that's the main reason why there are so many of those boxes on the streets. However, like with many things, if you take what most people like, it never truly excels in something. It's by design because to cater to most, you can't make something too extreme. If something is very good in a certain discipline, f.ex. the handling in a sportscar, it will never work for the masses. That 's the reason why you hear so much mediocrity in the radio, why there are so many mediocre movies, restaurants etc etc. It works for most people and it works good for them. However, for the guy who's a bit more "into it", he instead buys something that excels in a discipline he likes and he also realizes that ikn ordert to have that, he has to compromise in others. Same goes for a SUV. You have to make trade offs somewhere, that's just a natural law. You're X6m will never handle like a real sportscar, it's just a fact. Who cares about straight lines. Any upper class Teslas will smoke you in a straight line but since I have been driving one, I quickly realized that in terms of handling it's far from a sportscar (I realize they are not built to be sportscars but even on the highway above a certain speed, handling was abysmal) But it's ok, you probably don't want that or don't need it. Just don't act like that SUV box is the friggin holy grail

What's it like to live with as a daily driver? With all the extra stiffness does it make it unbearable when driving it as a "baby buggy" to use your vernacular?
You do notice the extra stiffness in day to day traffic and on surface streets. Not something I would complain about.
@@MotoManTV So then of the 4 Germans X6M Competition, Audi RSQ8, Mercedes GLE63 AMG, and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe. Which would be your choice to live with if you were coughing up your own cash?
RS6 Avant or E63s Wagon.
I like the RS6 as well, but I can’t pull my Ducati w/ that. I’m still split between the Cayenne Turbo Coupe’ and the RS Q8. I know the Porsche handles better, but I’m not sure I need that handling in my normal driving routine.
@@rsmith2320 @MotoManTV I think that's a fair point you raise is what level of handling do you really need. Especially since it is unlikely that we'll be able to push any of these to their limits on typical roads. No Autobahn. Interestingly enough though MotoMan suggests the wagons over the SUV brutes. I also worry about the longevity of the plastic engine parts BMW uses.
I love the X6M I have X6 50i right now and will go to the X6M next. I don’t like the way the cayenne drives or the site lines in fact I felt like I was driving a Chrysler minivan and maybe why I see so many house wife driving them. I want something different that stands out, fun to drive, sporty and you get that with the BMW X6.
Just traded in the 2019 Audi Q8 for a2022 X6M Competition. Holy fuck is it quick. Going from a 340HP Q8 to a 617+HP X6M is mind boggling stupid fast. No regrets.

its so wrong to make a SUV and throwing everything at it again to make it handle and drive like a sports-car.....but hey, if they can do it? if the make it - will they sell it? M5 Comp everyday all the time no question asked over this one and the colour... well... if SUV I would still go Cayenne Turbo, best of the worlds to my taste. Thank you for another great review :)
While I also would prefer green, I kind of liked this color when I thought it was Maroon. Hate purple.
I thought the X5/6 M and the dynamic handling package with the active anti roll bars on the 40i and M50i were not air ride? I don't see any button for height adjustment. I thought it was only the 40i and M50i that offered an air ride, either with the third row, off road package, or as a standlone, but that it was not able to be had in conjunction with the active ant roll bars. And then the X7 came standard with air ride and has an available active anti roll with the air?
Yes, the M models do not have air suspension, pretty major mistake to make in the presentation of this X6M
I'm not versed in all the specifics. All I want to know is, does this SAV drive rough?
Great review as always. I just got a 22 X6M Competition. Quick question for anyone here when you put it into M1 mode (everything in aggressive mode) is the shifting only manual via the paddle shifters ? Or can it shift on its own? I’ve only had it for 2 days but every time I put it in M1 mode it shifts only manually via paddle shifters, it won’t shift on its own.
Who curbed the front wheels? 😠 The purple paint isn't bad if it had Cognac interior. Silverstone will make it look dated fast. Awesome SAV regardless. Price is getting very expensive. All I see is massive depreciation after the warranty is over with all these M cars.
Would be way down my list.
When you get a chance ask bmw why their new cars are so ugly and if anyone has lost a job over it

All this noise and flash and it would be creamed by most electric SUV's... this is the definition of all bark and little bite!
The RS Q8 looks so much better than the X6M. I know it’s subjective, but the rear end of that car is butt ugly...in my humble opinion. No denying that BMW builds a great performing car, but I’m not spending that much $$ for an ugly car.
