- Hundreds of state troopers were deployed to the University of Texas campus in Austin and clashed with pro-Palestinian protesters on Wednesday. Over 34 individuals have been arrested so far, including a photojournalist, and a further hundred individuals have also been arrested at other university protests across America.

Freedom of speech does not imply interrupting other people's right to movement and access to facilities (including being able to study, which is what universities are for), does not imply vandalism and other forms of violence, does not imply disturbing the peace, and most importantly, does not imply inciting hatred and violence.
The threshold of tolerance towards violence coming from the far-left is extremely high. If this were a white nationalist "protest", I don't think anyone would have given it a thought on whether or not they have a constitutional right to do it.
Are there any videos of violence or disruption before the police arrived? Demonization of peaceful protest is an early death knell of democracy.

It's funny thinking that most of those who attended are there just to witness the spectacle, and when there's an audience, some people with the intent to be on the news are likely to play their part. While preservation of free speech is very important, I don't think going against the law, or societal norms by causing chaos hoping you'd be heard justifies what you're fighting for, or believe in by actually putting yourself in that situation. If you notice that most of those who attend this type of demonstration are younger people, that's because their brains are generally at that stage where they like to be involved in different causes, made easier and more convenient by social media that fuels it. Attending a school opens your eyes to what it's like co-existing with other types of people, and you start meeting people from other cultures, and then there's the dilemma of what to do in situations like this. And because they're young, emotional triggers like this are more common to the point of public display, knowing that they're being watched which ultimately benefits the media and influencers alike. And for those involved, I suppose they get their fifteen minutes of fame, too. LOL
