As always, I found this video quite informative! I didn't notice the pantograph on NICTD 1000 until I watched this video, but now i know what it does. Thanks for the information!
@joshuafajardo: Definitely! It's totally unlike any other rapid transit line and it's cars definitely show the characteristics of being an Interurban. The acquired Liberty Liners from the North Shore Line in 1964-1979 definitely gave the line an Interurban Character.
@JackCarsonsRailroad...: I thought sure the South Shore Line was going to have dual mode locomotives too using electric power on the main line and diesel power on unelectrified sidings. In the future I think this will happen.
