- Our purebred cat British Golden Chinchilla gave birth to one kitten. We saw an announcement in a group that they are looking for nursing mom cat for a kitten, who was left without a mother. We decided to help the baby so that our cat adopted him. But how will a mother cat react to another kitten? We put the kitten in the same room where the cat and her kitten were, but separately. The cat did not pay attention to the kitten at first. But when he began to meow plaintively, she came up and carries the kitten to her daughter.

It’s very sweet how she checked him out first, wasn’t sure, then mom “instincts” kick in and she’s now the mother of two. An orphan has mother and a chance at life. She’s a good mom.

That literally brought tears to my eyes how she took the little kitten in as her own and now has a Mom that cares for two sweet babies.❤️
I love the sweet way she “talks” to the orphan kitten. She’s a great momma cat and also very beautiful.

Gorgeous mommy. That maternal instinct is very strong no matter what species you are. I'm not young anymore but whenever I hear a baby cry, I still want to pick up and comfort it.
I must be lacking it. I hear a baby crying and I want to run in the opposite direction.

She probably was, mama cats are extremly protective of their babies and she was checking to see soshe didn´t "steal" the other cats baby. (and risked being attacked)
I think she was looking for the mother, since that meow sounds the same as when I hear the cats around me call to each other, it's more of a trill than the meow they use with people. When the mom didn't show up she decided to help out. When cats live in large communities sometimes they'll take care of each other's kittens.

Mama cat was like, “Huh? I don’t remember having a baby with THIS coloring. But--I guess I must have, because he’s in my beddie-bye basket. Oh well.”

Mother cat is kind . It has showered love even on adopted kitten. The cat owner has raised this mother cat very well.
When my cat gave birth to a single kitten, I went to my local pet shop to buy a _sibling_ for poor solitary kitty. (Kittens need friends/brothers)
A few weeks later I took a video from my phone into the pet shop. Both kittens feeding from my momma cat.
Her maternal instincts were so strong, she never saw Tolly as anything but her own. Even though Tolly was a cream Persian and Clover was a tuxedo girl.
Rest in piece my gorgeous cats.

@@NAZARGGG I think it has to do with a combination of not my kid mentality followed by someone else will do it follow by human awareness. Like sure you could take in the child but it could cause a commotion by onlookers. So people might be scared to do due to potential ramifications.
Animals on the other hand don't really have to worry about that because they don't really have the same restraint that we do. They may have instincts that may make it difficult but they are mostly unrestrained with few exceptions Maybe.
I’m not sure what world you’re living in but animal aren’t more likely to show compassion , quite the opposite of you live in the animal kingdom

I just love this! The orphan kitten must have felt so relieved when the Mama cat picked her up! It's so interesting how they instinctually go limp. Great videos like these brighten my day! Thanks!🐱
Where the mom cat picks up there kittens they go limp because a part on a kittens scruff that the mom bites paralyzes the kittens limbs till they let go This feature also persists into adulthood
Can anyone help me with a thing,so I have a young cat like 6 or 7 months who's mother I own has kits,but the young cat is now taking care of the kittens,does she have milk to feed them?
My daughter does rescues and her friend found a mama cat and all her kittens died 😢 😔 and their were kittens found alone so she brought them to the mama who lost here's and she feed them and cleaned them like they were hers .... I feel that's beautiful 😍 💕 ❤

There's a video where a dog went into premature labour, and lost all her puppies. As her guardians where trying to find a litter of puppies they could adopt, all they could find up for adoption was kittens ...
... so they took a leap of faith, and adopted a litter of kittens, roughly the same age as what her puppies would be ... and it worked, as, though it took a bit, especially with supplemental feeding at first, it was long before they were fully nursing them ...
... then there is the case of a cat adoping three, or so, ducklings, whom were actually nursing on her, even though ducklings aren't normally fed milk, if at all ...

Most animals have very strong maternal instincts. They recognize when a baby needs someone to be there for them and out of love they do it. She knew the baby needed her and she welcomed it with open paws. Animals are just amazing!

Mother cats do not typically abandon kittens: They are VERY protective, and heartbroken if they lose one. So I ask, PLEASE, everyone, if you think you've found an abandoned kitten, MAKE SURE the mother isn't just out hunting before you take a kitten to use for internet fame.
It depends I would say. If its a wild cat stray outdoors usually the mother will give birth, stay for a few days (that's if the kittens survive in the cold) then the mother will be on her way. Yaa cruel I know. (Even more cruel is that ppl let their males wander around not spade or neutered. Too cheap ppl. .)
I've found a few rescues. Some made it, nice and healthy but others have medical problems that just can't be fixed.
As far as the mother is concerned the next step will be if the other kitten will accept her. After several weeks the situation might differ and fighting erupts. That's real life. But I do hope it all turns out well.

This catmom behaves more social than a lot of us humans.... I love cats so very very much. Could not live without. I have two boys and both of them accepted 2 babies I saved from a death station in Greece. After they have recovered, I hope they will get an wonderful home! My boys will miss them definately. Me too.
