I've been using a zero water filter for a few years now and I test the water regularly. It makes a big difference and saves a lot of plastic waste if you tend to prefer bottled water. I have tried and don't recommend using off-brand filters in your zero water to save money since the filter is essentially the ENTIRE reason you bought a zero water in the first place.

I use a three-step water filter pitcher with decent city tap water going into the cheapest, whatever i have around and not using water filter first. From there it goes into the Zero Water, followed by the Clearly Filtered to be drank. The first (cheapest) one takes out the largest contaminants so the others last longer. The Zero Water mainly didn't remove Fluoride which my city water has a lot of. Note that fluoride is good topically when part of brushing and rinsing, but not ingesting. The Clearly Filtered removed all Fluoride and a few other chemicals that were only reduced by the first two filters. I change my first/cheapest filter every 4-6 weeks. The others 3 and 6 months. This is what works for my home according to taste, smell and lab tests plus my wallet.

I was a lot like you and was very sceptical of the claims of "Zero" dissolved solids and thought that the added "Meter" would be a gimmick.
I then saw a video from a UA-camr I trusted (before I even saw your video, it was queued up after the other one) and decided, on the basis of that, to take the plunge so to speak and get the round ZeroWater pitcher.
Like you, I don't notice much of a difference in taste of just water; however I am a heavy coffee drinker and i DO notice a difference there.
Here's a tip for you, to make your ZeroWater filter last longer, filter the water through the Britta first and then pour that into the ZeroWater jug.
You might as well use up the Britta filters you have already paid for.
I didn't think of filtering red wine and I just wonder if the filter actually neutralises the alcohol.

OK, I need one of these, the water here tastes like chlorine and death, even the Brita can't help it.
Great vlog once again, but SHAME on you for wasting wine 🤣
