I have an application. "Like Saul, sometimes the wrong people are exalted, and the right people humbled. But we need to understand that Jesus didn't promise us fame and fortune following Him. All He promised us is eternal life and happiness. As Jesus once said about these wrongly exalted people, "they have recieved their reward in full". But they won't be very rewarded on judgement day, but we will! We will rule with Christ forever! As I like to say, "die now, rule later", and "don't live now and die later"
The silly oath Saul makes reminded me of Jephthah’s oath in Judges 11. I felt we are given 2 similar stories with different outcomes. Here in Saul and Jonathan’s story we see how it could have ended had men of God spoken out in Jephthah’s story. Moral of the story: We shouldn’t make foolish oaths thinking that is what God wants. God wants us to trust in Him and give Him glory and realize that our strength comes from Him. There is no need of foolish oaths.
Upon understanding this chapter I learned that God will fight for us no matter how big the situation is and He will go before us, sending confusion to our enemies (the devil and his team) All we need to do is trust Him and have faith. Jonathan trusted God and not in his own strength when fighting the Philistines.
No, please do NOT DROP the application section, that is ( I believe) very important. I rather hear the application section that when or where it happened. Does anyone agree?
Your videos are great and super informative! I am reading through the Bible in 90 days, and I look forward to your interpretation on the more tough chapters!! Thank you for your hard work! 🙏
The The dog barking is funny because my neighbor has a dog that dies the same as soon as it hears me moving. Thanks for this study. It's really helping me understand God and how he moved within his people in the beginning. Barking dog and all .
I remember the first time i read the entire Bible 10+ years ago and getting to this chapter and was like how is it I never heard this story in children's church
Thank you for these brother. I guess I will finish the first book of Samuel without your summaries 😮 so be it! I look forward to the challenge. Looking forward to all of the future help!
Hello, brother! I went to watch your Ruth playlist and I found its 1st chapter is in the Judges one. Just had to let you know it, thank you for your studies 😁🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this summary. I was confused with the reading as well. Saul's oath was definitely an odd one. Besides making the men go hungry when they needed the energy, he was making his own men sin with the part where the men were eating the blood of animals (Leviticus was going off in my mind). On a side note, the dog barking in the background was funny. My neighbor has a dog that barks like crazy whenever some kind of noise involving wheels occurs, be it one of my other neighbors driving down the gravel road or his kid or myself taking our garbage cans to the curb.
I'm studying 1Samuel & I must say your video's have helped tremendously. In this chapter when Johnathan asked God for a sign...My question is being that this was in the Old Testament, is it okay to ask God for a sign if your struggling or having a confusion on believing some thing you questioned ?
Your hair is just fine-human. I get many compliments on my hair by both men and women, and that's just as awkward to me as hair out of place. Great job on this chapter.
I thought something bad was going to happen to Jonathan while reading this chapter. Attacking the Philistines only with his armor bearer. Also the army for breaking law by eating meat without draining the blood from the animals. Jonathan eating the honey even tho Jonathan didn't hear the oath. Wheww
1. Having mighty faith in God wins wars 2. Don’t make foolish vows Side note: it really annoyed me every time Saul said “your God” to Samuel. Lawless leaders lead to lawless citizens
Your hair shows you are normal. And for all things good in neighboring, train the dog or don't have one. Incessant barking drives me bonkers and it's not the dog I want to hurt. 😎 I'd try and train the dog. LOL Maybe the owners will let you take the dog for a walk and he'll become more obedient to you? 😁 Applications, Saul shouldn't have made such a serious decision about his soldiers without praying about it and being directed by God. i.e. Saul was a bit of a dolt. God has great patience with his chosen people to give them a king and watch the insanity unfold. I'm sure I could find more, but I'm supposed to be reading.

I struggled with understanding this chapter also. You did an amazing job of making sense of it. I am very grateful that God has given you wisdom.

Don’t apologize for going over time. It’s always interesting.
God bless everyone and have an amazing day ❤️🙏 Trust in the Lord
My heart when he said, there wasn't going to be an application section today💔💔💔💔💔💔. Its the only thing I look forward to .
He did a little application at the end though😅
May the Lord bless you all ❤❤❤

Thanks for letting me know! I'll fix it now.
I am glad you summarized this chapter lol cuz I was lost. Also learned new insight about Johnathan, he was brave!

This was great. Made perfect sense. New sub. You're a cutie, BTW. I love your personality.
If your watching this and own dogs that bother your neighbors, then frogs, locust’s and bloody hemorrhoids shall plague you.
Amen and Amen! 😁

Cats like to be in front of the camera. That think they are the star. They are divas
2:06 “ I’m so thankful you said that because I was thinking, “ Lord, what’s happening to my brain?”🫣

You need to review that spirit that is controlling your dog to be so interruptive during God’s word
thank you
