His IQ is what stands out. 99% of the time he makes the right decision whether with nimble dribbling, passes or defending. Arguably the best signing of this previous summer.
How can Mazraoui play in so many different positions, but never look out of place. ETH played him once in the 10, last game he played in FB, this game he played in CB. The football IQ is outstanding. Onana has played well this season, but just for the sake of it, maybe throw Mazraoui in goal and see how he does.
First, I loved that we controlled the ball in the 2nd half unlike what we were used to seeing with EtH akin to tennis matches. Second, Amorim showed adaptability because in the 2nd half we defended with a 4-2-3-1 and still kept his principles while attacking with the 3-4-2-1 (Dalot's movement). Ugarte is mint. PSG is crazy for selling him. Mazraoui is arguably world class like the best signing this summer and at such a cheap price. Hojlund will become world class too as he gets more experience and while under Amorim. Every player apart from Antony, Dalot and Malacia (though he's been out roughly 2 years) played great. Little mistakes here and there but no issues, we saw the game out. Mount was great. Onana has been class and so has de Ligt. When Yoro is fully fit and Shaw starts often I believe we'll go on a run. We just got to fix these little mistakes. GGMU
Loved seeing Hojlund out in a performance like that. Got the ball to him early, held it up well, took his chances, but also the work rate. That first goal our other strikers don't create with the pressing. More to come from him
@Dmaj089 yeh, he's young, but has all the attributes needed. Just needs coaching on what we need from a CF. Runs, timing, hold up play, the bits that make you a top striker. He's tall, strong, rapid and can finish. He can be really good I think
I don't like Anthony so it's not coming from a bias point of view. I thought he put in a solid shift, there were more stand out players but he did pretty well to be fair and I was like oh I hope that doesn't mean he starts getting back in the team. Ste got his blinkers on again
its nothing close to the rashford/garnacho blinkers.. but if Amad put in Antonys performance last night everyone would be saying it was sound lol (please sell Antony, but still gotta be fair)
Antony did well as a wing back,The Right side was clicking in the second half with Mazraui, Mount and Urgate, The rythme got disrupted after the subs..Antony gets it in hugging the touch line and trying to use the ball unlike for example Amad who wants to always dribble either inside or on the channel when he can actually just pass and in this game put Rashford who has abit of pace in on the space behind-They were Colliding because Amad still wants to play as a winger not wing-back-This may work in some games where you need some possesion but if you already have possesion in a low block you need combinations and movement and runners in behind to attack the goal or cross in and not just dribbling for dribbling sake.. Antony did well in this game..
Antony did well for sure, he helps tick the ball over and maintain possesion while keeping the width. Got the ball back a few times as well. Still only back from injury too. So role could suit him
Anthony lost the ball on numerous occasions. He failed to put even one cross into the box and instead passed it back to Mazoroui who displayed another man of the match performance.

I think Ste should start calling Mazraoui the new Dennis Irwin! Similar to Irwin in unbelievable consistency, play a number of positions and not look out of place, and has a high standard of professionalism
I don't think Anthony was half as bad as that. I think it was 5.5 out out 10 performance. It took him a while to get into it but he went past he's man a few times and linked up good with mount. I think it was a performance that he can build on
Mazraoui is signing of the season, not just for us, but across the league. The £66 a ticket looks like a bargain when the alternative is having Sam Matterface & Robbie Savage as your commentators for the TV!
And Savage doesn't shut up talking about formations and pointing out the obvious, oh look they gone 4 at the back, now they 3 at the back, see there Dalot has tooked in and they 4 at the back 🤡
Mazraoui is unquestionably the best fullback in world football. Every so often we are treated to watch pure footballers operate. Mazraoui is one of them. If fit Mount and Bruno behind Hojlund is my front 3. Ugarte and Mainoo flanked by Amad and Mazraoui. Yoro De Ligt and Martinez back 3. Onana Yoro De Ligt Martinez Amad Mainoo Ugarte Mazraoui Mount Bruno Hojlund Subs: Zirkzee Rashford Garnacho Antony Eriksen Casemiro Dalot Shaw Malacia Maguire Lindelof Evans Bayindir
Antony missed opportunity 😂😂😂😂 His right side combined with Mazraoui, Ugarte & Mount was our biggest threat last night...He was only hooked because he's coming back from injury..Even the manager said he hooked players off mainly because he was managing their fitness
Don’t think you watched the first half ste cause Antony was wayyyy better then you were making out , at one point he was the only player taking on his man and driving into the box , he certainly didn’t look void of confidence , not sure where you get this takes from sometimes
Stee - you need to put Højlund on the thumbnail of this one - he thoroughly deserves it. Praise when praise is earned and I told ya’all all along - he got it. He just needs service and support as confidence in him and the right system/coach.
Ste, if you remember against Ipswich Ruben, said Evans should have pushed out, which is what Licha did last night, so maybe it's what Ruben has been instructing?
Another early goal that didn’t turn into more initially. We went behind, and yet I didn’t think the game was done. There are goals out there, and putting it towards the penalty spot for Højlund to put in is the way forward. It’s been that way since he arrived, we just have to fall out of the Ten Hag habit of focussing on getting it out to the wide forward and hoping. It is looking far less about “moments” as we were accused of, and more about weight of chances again. It was always that way under Fergie. And look how successful that ended up being!
1. Ten Hag was just not capable 2. We have a pattern of play that doesn't SEEM to lose to small clubs 3. Our team can adapt to the new style of play with a few tweaks 4. Gems are going to be revealed beyond Maz. Some don't even know they are gems yet. 5. Amorim may not end up being A Moron after all.
Antony will get more game time whether we like it or not - Amorim has said multiple times that everyone has to play and he'll be changing the 11 a lot so that players can train between games to learn the system and patterns of play that he wants to see. Antony has been terrible since coming to United, I'm not sure what it is yet, but I have faith that Amorim can get something out of him
Only place I see him playing is LWB. Amad is far clear of him on the right, imo, and there doesn't seem to be an obvious answer in the squad on the left.
Disagree about Antony, he did fine pressing and trying to attack. The issue with Antony is he never receives the ball with his right when playing on the right so he’s always facing the back of the goal receiving on his left which means he can’t go forward, he cuts in right away which makes him predictable. Yesterday to give him a chance Ruben played him on the right to keep Antony in his familiar role however I think if Antony played on the left like Malacia it would be different. Ruben played with inverted fullbacks second half with Dalot and Antony to start which made it easy for United to be pressed, difference is Dalot can out run his defender or dribble and Antony is low on confidence. I think he can play the left so it’s baffling as to why he’s not being deployed on the left. Antony can play in carabao cup maybe fa cup and give the squad a decent rotation, Ruben wants to press to do that he needs to sub and rotate, ETH wanted to press issue is he played same players and it’s just not possible to press with same players every game and then not sub till 80th minute like he did.
Antony played well when he was on. Solid defensively and linked up well with Mount and Mazraoui. Sadly for him, it can be a long way back with this fan base - but I was pleased to see him get a chance.
Amorim prefers to play with inverted full backs. He didn’t “give Antony a chance” by playing on the right, it’s what his position would be in this system. Amad (left footed) played against Ipswich
@@markk4863it’s not what his position would be, Ruben is experimenting with all these players finding out who can play where based on their football knowledge and who are his speciality players, he won’t settle his squad for another 2 or so games. @@johntipling842this fan base issue is they want managers to buy buy buy vs develop players. Gone are the days footballers would convert to positions to make it work for a team. Our fan base are also not realistic so there’s that
@ what are you waffling on about me knowing Ruben? It’s called watching football you melon. He plays with wrong footed wing backs, and Antony will never be a 10, so RWB IS where his position will be
Wow he talked about anthony being bad even though he wasn't bad ..yeah there was nothing good it was very safe from him but it was rashford who was actually bad like even short one two weren't coming off for him and he didn't press at all which you can't say the same about anthony atleast
Antony will only play games like he did last night, uninspiring in the Europa League games for 60 mins, but he will play because he works hard off the ball and is a body that will be able to give Dalot/ Amad a small rest. Same applies for Malacia and Shaw, they will play bit parts this season to give rests to key players.
Hojlund movement in the box is superb, with service he will score loads. Ugarte and Mazraoui were mint. Dalot not so much. Zirkzee didn’t get a single minute.
Already starting to see which players instantly fit with this system, which could get there in time, and which have absolutely no hope. Next couple of transfer windows will be vital.
I'd like to see Anthony at lwb. Defensively, he seems solid, and keeping him on his left foot might help him run at players. He has pace. Think he deserves the season under a new manager
Mazraoui is absolutely spectacular imo. Quietly goes about his business. BTW...your weight loss progress is exceptional and swear we can see weight loss with every video
Spot on about Ugarte, Mazraoui & Hojlund. Also thought Antony showed why he’s been out of favour. We’ve known for a while. I would be very surprised if he can turn it round from here. One thing not discussed was Dalot. I’ve never seen much in him and this season in particular he’s been poor. Just plays high risk passes and loses the ball. A Left wing back has to be the No. 1 big target. For me Dalot and Rashford need to go along with the older ones in Casemiro, Erikson and Evans.
I disagree on the hat trick only because if Garnacho hadn't run in to finish it would have been a penalty and Bruno would have taken it. Their keeper grabbed Hojlund to keep him on the ground. Clear pen if Garnacho hadn't scored. I've said previously that Hojlund has the rest of this season to prove himself because Gyokeres is waiting in the wings. It's not fair to put that kind of pressure on a young player but that's football. I'm confident though that he can and will deliver. This system suits him down to the ground and as we saw last night, if you actually give the kid chances he'll put the ball in the back of the net. I don't know if it's just me but I'm actually getting Mark Hughes vibes from Hojlund and I'm totally here for it.
Bodo held their whole team skewed to utd's right. Everytime the ball went to Antony there were two/three around him. Malacia wide open all the time but he didnt have enough confidence to do anything with it. Antony could do more but short of dribbling through two players every time, which he managed a couple of times, i didnt see much on for him for the critique.
Yeah it’s just blind bias from some people. Give him time to get into that role. He worked hard and tried to get down that wing. He’s called Antony out for a decent game yet let someone like rashford off for a long time
@@shaneoconnor8597cos we expect things of rashford, Antony has proven to us he is shit and will always be shit for us, maybe he can be decent in a different league
@@alisoyupak2730 linked up well. Brought the intensity that amorim wanted. And he looked to go down the wing in fairness to him but they generally defended him very well.
Onana could have been sent off for that hand ball outside his area...Utd almost drew that match. EtH signed Maz & Ugarte. EtH still paying dividends for Utd.
With Mazraoui he can play in multiple positions because he has a really good footballing brain combined with good technical ability. RCB seems to suit him well.
Thought everyone was alright. Players returning from injuries. Antony at rwb was okay, first game starting so no complains on him either. Even the players off the bench came on and were okay. Only up from here i believe
I thought Antony looked Ok last night. Yeah, confidence is definitely in the gutter, but no surprises there’s; hes been absolutely hammered by fans and pundits since he arrived. He clearly has talent though; watch him at Ajax. I dont know if hes good enough for united or not, but give him a chance with the new gaffer and see how it goes.
Actually, I disagree with about Antony. Last night he wasn’t bad and also he seemed like he knew what he was doing. Game by game we would see him start for first team specially in game that we need hight pressure.
I might be an outlier, while antony didn't really have any major impact on the game, he actually played well under Amorim's tactics. My only peeve is that he's slow to go back on defense.
Anthony was poor but at the same time it's a new position and role for him and he would probably need a run of games. He also looks like his confidence is shot atm. It's not looking good for him but I wouldn't complain if he can turn things around.
Sounds like the gaffer will rotate to such a degree that Antony might be given the opportunities to play himself into form. Hope so for his sake and ours. Its FAR easier to sell a player in form.
De light, brother Maz, Ugarte, Onana,... Soooo - are we going to revise history and acknowledge that maybe Ten Hag knew what he was doing with recruitment
Which striker scores without service? Only Messi in his prime can take the ball dribble past 4,5 players and score .. even yesterday Rasmus got what chance and a half and he scored twice.. the first goal was all him in the box it was not a tap in like the second.. even Rashford scored against Ipswich with the good service from Amad ... Creating chances is what we need to do for our forward
the formation when defending still an issue, Hojlund scores against crap teams like Bodo Glimt but needs to do it in the big games Arsenal/City/Liverpool as we have them soon
I don’t think shaw will work. He’ll be decent up the pitch but he’s gonna be murdered tracking back. If he’s going to stay he can be a very good backup to martinezt

@@alisoyupak2730 well he was decent last night. He deserves a clean slate and a chance in a new system
@ how was he decent when he didn’t do anything to contribute Lool, he wasn’t absolute dogshit there you go👍
@@alisoyupak2730 linked up well. Brought the intensity that amorim wanted. And he looked to go down the wing in fairness to him but they generally defended him very well.
Love the GBRS cap!
Antony played better defensively than offensively
Shaw and casemiro played as centre halves in the 3-0 league cup win against forest a couple of years back
Thought everyone was alright. Players returning from injuries. Antony at rwb was okay, first game starting so no complains on him either. Even the players off the bench came on and were okay. Only up from here i believe
Keep whipping them crosses in
I thought Antony looked Ok last night.
40% off shirts on the United website had to buy a Mazraoui shirt🔥
Actually, I disagree with about Antony. Last night he wasn’t bad and also he seemed like he knew what he was doing. Game by game we would see him start for first team specially in game that we need hight pressure.
Bro, you look fitter than before... Nice analysis
Mazraoui will challenge any position in our squad even Onana has to be worried.
Utd played good you can see the players ain’t used to the system. But in time I think hey will do okay
I might be an outlier, while antony didn't really have any major impact on the game, he actually played well under Amorim's tactics. My only peeve is that he's slow to go back on defense.
If every player on the team was at Mazraoui’s level of consistency, we would be up there with the very best
I thought Antony had a decent game tbf. Not pulling up any trees mind you, but decent.
One thing seems clear to me: - I haven't seen a United squad be that lively and engaged in years!
Massive congratulations to you Ste for the weight loss journey. You look amazing bro! Keep up the excellent work
Ste you dropped some weight, looking sharp👌🏾
Ste's lost weight and you can tell from the face. Keep it up!
Fair is fair Anthony ratings was 7.3 it’s not the worst and it’s not the bad.
Mazraoui and Ugarte should be the first two names on the team sheet
Mazraoui was running players down like they owe him money all night 😂
ste’s lost weight holy shit congrats man
Anthony was poor but at the same time it's a new position and role for him and he would probably need a run of games.
Bruno (with his passing range) should be converted to the regista role like Carrick (or Pirlo)
That guy from Jurassic park needs to clone mazroui….Imagine having 11 mazroui’s in all positions ..
Ste on some seriuos weight loss regimen. Or Ozempic. Either way its incredible
Mazroui knows ball. He sets the bar! Never had a below 7 performance since his arrival!
Is Mazraoui the best bargain that we've had since Chicharito?
Since you lost weight you look more like Stephen howson brother
And to think that there were fans who were enraged over selling Bissaka and signing Mazroui 😂
Howson looks leaner now..
the formation when defending still an issue, Hojlund scores against crap teams like Bodo Glimt but needs to do it in the big games Arsenal/City/Liverpool as we have them soon
Did it against Bayern no?
Bodo Glim is no craps..
What is his record against big 6 tbh?
Rasmus can be a complete 9, and he can be prolific.
Anthony really tried.
He's not there needs to move on
At this rate i would even trust maz in goal
Hey Ste are you good? This is the first time I’m tuning in in weeks and it looks like you’ve dropped some weight. Are you okay?
Understand we have to talk about Antony and forget about Rashford and Garnacho
Antony wasn't bad you just don't like him
He wasn’t good
shaw mazraoui moved to WB both left right garnacho is just a pain
I don’t think shaw will work. He’ll be decent up the pitch but he’s gonna be murdered tracking back. If he’s going to stay he can be a very good backup to martinezt
Is it too early to suggest Mazraoui might need a song?
Ste, what’s the weight you’re aiming for. Tell us. Because watching a thinner and thinner Ste with every passing video is jarring 😂 Looking good though, bro 👊🏽
Garnacho still a bit greedy for me needs to get that head up
We have 3 wingers who can't cross a ball-garnacho,malacia and antony.
Rashfords a winger and he couldn't cross his legs nevermind a ball
Damn, Ste's looking trim af...
Does anyone know why Tenhag was not playing Ugarte?
He was trying to get fired it seems!!
Ozempiks kicking in 😂
It ain’t that hard to lose weight
I think Anthony can b a benefit to uniteds football
Would Mainoo and Ugarte actually work?
Slim howson
Disagree about Anthony. His positioning was a real threat and if Mount had laid the ball off to him when he hit the bar Anthony was there to score.
Agree, Antony was good. Ste has already decided before the game that antony, Malacia, Garnacho all would be shit and nothing they do can change Ste's pathetic analysis lmao. Sad.
@@kallekofot7240- if you can do better, get a channel going & show us what you know…you’re just a hater…
Defensively, Antony was terrible.
@SJH.95 No, he wasn't. And the Bodo defence was wary of him at all times.
Let's agree to differ.
@@jiggersotoole7823 sure thing! It was his lack of positioning that did it for me, if you rewatch the game, pay attention to where he is and how he moved compared to Amad. Miles apart!
We weren't playing Barcelona or Madrid, Liverpool or city Bayern or Dortmund but a team from Norway with a 15 million budget and we were at home.
If we are to be totally honest they should or could have got a draw or even won the game
So stop with the glorification
Malacia was caught for a goal but other than that I thought he was impressive in attack.
He was caught out cos Bruno wasn’t with his man, which made Martinez’s push up extremely high
Why didn't he try Antony at LWB?
We have learned nothing, the opposition were sh*t. Let’s see how Mazraoui and Ugarte get on when we go to City and Arsenal in the coming weeks.
No comments about Garnacho's infantile football and ridiculous decision making? Dalot always making wrong passes? And Rashford's poor finishing?
