One detail missed, Unttaman is the neighbour king. Instead of going for war he planned the entire plot of sagavaram. The fisherman(who can be seen in multiple scenes) is Kamal's assistant and he will help Kamal whenever he got tested for sagavaram. Kamal aka the king knows Pooja needed help, from Gnanasambandam (bishop) message.

There are 2 more details which are evident in the film!
1) The main contrast between the reality and the movie inside is, that how much ever Mano tries he can't chase death away and on the contrast, for Uttaman, how much ever death is chasing him he ends up winning the contest(the so called Saagaavaram). So what Actor Manoranjan is unable to do in reality he's making a contrast of that!
2) In that scene where MS Bhaskar comes and reads out that letter to Kamal Hassan in that Projection Room, Kamal sir stands by blocking வில்லன் in the title and ன் la vara red dot avaroda nose la irukum! This means that he has been a joker all these years without knowing about that letter stuff! Also letter mudikum bodhu vara shot la Kamal sir will be blocking வில்ல and leaving out other letters to form உத்தமன் meaning that he is a good guy but because the truth was hidden from him he couldn't go to her!

It's so sad that we appreciate Kamal movies only on social media, that too after years..! A big applaud to people who actually went to theatres to celebrate it.
The following is tiny pinch of salt I noticed apart from the bottle of salt u have explained from the ocean called Uttama Villian. The Movie was Just pure Writing Brilliance.
1. If you notice when MS Baskar starts to read due to the darkness in the theatre he stands up brings the letter to the light of the projector and starts reading symbolically represents the truth has been brought to light now.
2. Also in the scene where mano shows the family tree to his daughter, the family tree would be in a shape of a brain, which in turn represents in a dialogue that doctors said after operation Mano may tend to forget everything.
3. The Art works said in this video regarding are mostly the same locations of the actors and directors and incase of Balachander sir he has those collages in his office.
4. Another Parallelism or Contrast happened on fate that gets related to the movie is, in the movie manoranjan would be dead before releasing of his movie. And in realit KB was no more during the release marking his last work is with his one of the professional hier Padmashree Kamal Hassan ❤️
This movie will be celebrated like Anbe Sivam in 2030.

There are few scenes which are classic.
1. Jayaram meeting Kamal hassan.
2. Kamal meeting her daughter.
3. Kamal converation with ms Bhaskar.
4. Kamal conversation with his son.
This is so underrated.
I loved this movie from theater day itself. Even I loved Anbe Sivam from theater days, I watched the movie in subham.
Brilliant work! 😍 One more thing, a lot of people said that the affair between Manoranjan and the doctor was unnecessary, but I think it was included to show how weak was his relationship with his wife. He got married to Urvashi only because of his anger on Yamini. He says that she's like a child,( in the hospital scene when Urvashi is admitted) he felt pity for her and was very affectionate but I don't think he truly loved her and the doctor's character was written to probably fill that void in his life.
That's very precise. We felt that too. Even when his daughter is reading the letter as he's taking the makeup off will have a line supporting this. His son would be aware of the affair from the beginning and when he listens to that line his reaction says so much. Such a brilliant scene.

His son even says "Innoru pombalaikkaga ammava vida poringala?" when Manoranjan comes to break the news about his cancer. That's another hint that his son had a doubt about his relationship with the doctor.
This is one of the most underrated movies of Kamal sir, atleast movies like Hey ram, Anbe sivam got their due credit after years, but still many people hate this movie without realizing it's value! After confessing about kamals problem to his home andrea kamal were traveling in car there andrea ask for not to tell anybody about this relationship with herself & kamal on that time background they will passing a temple where we could see lord venkatachalapathy with his 2 wifes standing so symbolically they say andrea as a 2nd wife of kamal in that movie.

One of the underrated movie(as most of the kamal sir's movie)..It should've been appreciated... I thoroughly enjoyed the movie when I watched it in theatre, every bit of it, every part of it... Your hidden details video has kindled me to watch the movie again...
I've watched this movie N no of times, And always had this feeling it's Kamal's "Auto-biography" with some added fiction.
The movie resembles many of his real-life scenarios and multiple love-affairs, And he's brave enough not to hide that.
He has also deviated to do some masala movies to maintain his stardom between the time from initial movies with KB especially and started doing his cult movies later 80's
It seems he has written the script to express or apologize for his failed relationship and as well as his acting empathy.
Maybe it's all my perception of connecting his own life with the plot. But this is one of the masterpieces like his every other script.
Special Mention: MS Baskar, Watteyy hell of a combo for sure! Probably there is a high chance of a real-life character that exists in his life. :D

I had a thought that mano in the reality is connected to nasser sir character in the periodic film.
1.Mano wants to live,so he tries all things that can make him live long,the wicked king also need the same so he seeks uttaman.
2.Nasser wanted pooja kumar but that becomes unsatisfied,same Mano with Yamini.
3.In the last drama,all people expect Narasimha char to live and Iranian to be killed,but tale becomes unexpected. Here Mano wants to be lived by all,but gives a disappointment in the end.
4.Mano is betrayed by his manager,same Nasser is betrayes by his minister.
