I had the BioPro implant surgery in Louisville KY two weeks ago and I am amazed at the quick recovery. No pain now and full range of motion. I will be using a splint for a few weeks in order to stabilize the bone.

We offer a Titanium Implant option, that doesn't contain nickel.

I had mine done about three years ago, no problems. NO doctor in California was doing them, I had to go out of state and out of pocket to get it done.

After watching the video, can you explain to me, what holds the implant in place, just surrounding tendons, muscles, etc.? Thank you. I'm waiting to see if I'm a good candidate for at least one thumb.
During the procedure, a round socket is created in the trapezium bone which the head of the implant will sit in. This provides a stable base for thumb movement, and combined with the natural tendons and ligaments, holds the implant securely in place.
I don't see a lot of updates on biopro. Is this still a viable option? There are not many new videos that i can find.

Im having my implant removed next week. I simply cannot close my thumb to my hand (think saluting) and it is painful. My second surgeon feels the wrong alignment was used. Im going with the anchovy approach and hoping the bone doesnt crack when he removes the implant shaft.
Im sure the implant is a fine product. Just find the right orthopedic surgeon.
