I also used everything mattifying in the past, and now appreciate glowy skin and makeup products. I have the type of skin similar to yours, and I realized that the reason of these changes is age, my skin is not as oily as it was in my teenager years, and I started to need more moisturizing products.
Same here. I finally found the perfect skin care for me and I don't like to be as mattified to death as I used to be. Maybe it's because my skin is now healthy and I want to appreciate that more? I don't know. But all my old mattifying powders and foundations and primers are gone now and I'm very happy about that~
@@Tilaria, what do you use for cleaning and moisturizing, if it’s ok to ask? I use many of the Tatcha products, also Shiseido acid moisturizers/whitening creams/primers and also Dior capture total serum-moisturizer. I also like Clarins softening base.
@@polinatalmeltzer450 I live in Germany and I only use products you can buy at Rossmann (a local drugstore). For facial cleaning I use a firm face soap with tea tree oil by Foamie, then a Niacinamide/Zinc serum by Beauty Glam (to reduce redness and blemishes cause my skin tone is very uneven), a Hyaluron serum and in the morning a 24h moisturizer by the store brand Isana Pure. All products I use are perfume free and very gentle to my skin - and also very affordable 😅 I'm 26 now and I tried to find the skin care that works best for my face for about ten years or something. It was very frustrating sometimes, because I have oily and impure skin and I also suffered from fungal acne on my forehead, but now I actually don't have a single active pimple on my face (just old blemishes that still need to heal/disappear) 🥳 I don't know if you can ship those products to the UK or elsewhere outside Germany - except maybe for Austria and Switzerland - but maybe you can look up the ingredients on the website and search for available products that are similar if you want to try out something~

I also lived there when I was small, in Dresden. I visit them often and we exchange different “presents” via DHL, so I’ll definitely try the products you mentioned. I live in Israel :)

You should write down every single makeup product you own, that you don’t really use and put them into jars. Then pick one out of each jar every day and do a TikTok or video on them! Then you’ll be using your products more and have more content x
I go through phases where i'll buy new things and try them and then i always go back to my old favorites. I know it's the job of a creator to buy new things to try, and i really appreciate all your hard work to show/tell us your thoughts. The older i get the more i just want an easy look that gives me confidence and one that i know works. I've been on a blush kick recently and after hours of research and watching creators
I'll decide to give one a go only to immediately think, i just want my good, reliable Milani blush 🤣 then i tell myself if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's something i do wrestle with. The balance between wanting something new and wanting something that's stable and performs well 🙂 the makeup journey is a long and winding road indeed.
The Charlotte Tilbury foundation was the foundation I wore on my wedding day. It was so beautiful that I purchased it and it’s now my favourite foundation 😊 I have combo skin and it lasts so well on me, makes me feel so pretty

i have the waterproof benefit bad gal bang mascara, and it’s even better than the original and doesn’t smudge at all, it keeps my lashes looking amazing the whole day. defo the best mascara i’ve ever used!

I love this foundation! I don’t really like the matte look anymore either but I use a glowy primer and hydrating concealer especially under my eyes and it works like a dream! ♥️

Never understood how anyone liked everything matte and no blush with a heavy stripe of highlight, so now when light and glowy make-up is "in" I'm like: ahhhh finally the world is moving in to the right direction 😂😂😂
I love matte with no blush! I have rosacea so blush makes it even more prominent, no let the highlight tho🤣🤣
@ I understand why in this situation you wouldn't add blush, but whole face matte is still a no from me 😂 idk, in my opinion it makes everything look so heavy and cakey 😬 But everyone do their own thing, if they like it, why not 🙃

Same! People actually thought I barely wore any makeup back then because it was so extremely different from others 😂. I have very dry skin, so stayed far away from matte and did my own thing. I used (still do) either no base at all, or just a tinted cream, a little concealer, mascara and then used those chubby pencil lippies or other creamy lipsticks as blush (thank heavens for all the liquid/ cream blushes & bronzers nowadays) and I would 'Marilyn Monroe' my cheekbones (shht: vaseline as highlight) sometimes.
As soon as I found a way to buy Korean products without a gazillion euro in custom fees I went for it, because they had the creamy/jelly stuff way ahead of us. Except for 1 Catrice blush and 2 Milani ones everything I own is no longer powder based. Nowadays my makeup is more according to what's "in," simply because of the whole glass skin/glow hype, but it's still more understated compared to others. I don't use powder, I don't use fake lashes, I simply don't follow any of the trends. Never have. Most of the things would look ridiculous on me anyway 😅. Still like to watch Soph because 1. she's fun to watch and 2. there are obviously new products she tests that would be great for me. But long live light & glow 😉.

Charlotte Tilbury foundation, I personally mix it with the ELF halo glow! And it looks stunning! Should give that a try! Or the Flawless filter by CT!

I use that CT when I want my skin to look as perfect as possible. I mix it with a glowy add-in. It’s thick enough that it doesn’t even take it to satin, more soft matte.
used to do the beaming to space highlighter too 😂 and totally agree with bad gal bang. beautifully lengthening but would smudge every single time i wore it.
Hi Soph even though you will probably never see this comment I just want to say you have helped me a lot recently my test anxiety has been getting really bad and I am being bombarded with tests. I love that eye shadow palette! I use my finger to apply the shimmers and it makes a world of difference. Gotta agree on the highlighter tho, it is super chunky

I use that foundation and love it cause I’m oily/combo and pale so need a full coverage foundation, but I’ve started using the Charlotte tilbury wonderglow face primer and it gives this glow from underneath and it’s really pretty.. Foundation still lasts really well underneath! I have been loving the combo 😍
If you have both worth giving it a try or if you order anything from Charlotte tilbury site get the free sample, that’s how I tried it first and feel in love with the primer and that combo
I have the same problem with the bad gal bang mascara being the absolute best on me, but it smudges so badly. So I bought the waterproof one and it is just as amazing on me and zero issues with it. In love with it!

I also used to wear the CT Airbrush Flawless Foundation. After one year of nearly no make up I have found my beloved CT foundation. I have put it on my face and was shocked how Matt it was, it sucked all life out of my face and after 3 hours of wearing I looked like I was 30 years older.. 😂 after that day it went to the bin.
I love CT - but this foundation is not mine anymore.

Waterproof mascara is so easy to remove with a cotton bud and garnier micellar water with oil (the gold or blue one) 🥰
omg the CT foundation😂 i remember how much was i desperate to get that in my hand!! tho i dont find this foundation super drying its matte for sure but it sit super well and it didnt crease. i have combo skin slightly dry and this was my favourite summer foundation!!

Take a bit of a powder on a fluffy blending brush and go through your lower lashes. The mascara won't smudge.
I use the loose jaclyn highlighter as inner corner and it stays all day. I don’t use it on my actual cheeks though. But still good for that xx

I have dry skin but that foundation is my favorite currently. I find that it just always looks good on my skin, no matter what is going on under it. I don't use much of it to get the coverage I like. I even wore it on my wedding day along with the hollywood filter under, it works sooo well for me.

You should try to do "cloud skin", its like matte skin with a dewy/cloudy finish. Started in Asian beauty and trending now in western culture. :)

I’ve got the carnival antidote pallet and I absolutely love it and I’ve heard that the pallet you used isn’t that great from other UA-camrs and friends but the formula has gotten allot better since then which I can see from what I have.
Try elf halo glow under your matte foundation,I seen a few people do it and the glow shines through beautifully.

Also the iconic glaze crayon, they don't stay on, the blue is horrendous, lasts half hour at most!
Bad Gal Bang is one of my faves, but smudges on me too by the end of the day. The only one I’ve ever found similar to it is the original L’Oréal Telescopic (not the newer one that just came out). It’s amazing and doesn’t smudge and it’s my holy grail and I’ve been using it for YEARS!
it you find taking off waterproof mascara difficult, use an oil based remover and it comes off like a dream! they usually have layers in the bottle as they have separated, i have great ones from garnier and nivea!

I used to love the Charlotte Tilbury foundation too but it doesn't agree with my skin as it is more dry these days which is a shame cos it is quite pricey but I have others I prefer so all good I guess 😊
I use that CT foundation, but I pair it with a more glowy setting spray if needed

I really love the Charlotte Tilbury foundation, I have dry skin but it just works so well and it’s the only foundation that doesn’t live me lines on the nose. To use it because it’s matte and I also like the glow type of glam I mix it with a pro glow cream and use just half a pump, it really does the job

5:24 this cheek and lip tint reminds me of the benefit ‘benetint’ its a gorgeous colour but only works on my lips and not my cheeks.

Hi Soph, I find that if I use all of Charlotte’s skincare before (which I have and my bank account hates me for it 😂) the natural glow of my skin comes through underneath the foundation, especially if I don’t set my whole face with powder
