Soooo... you've asked in the beginning of the video: I currently (still) use the MacBook Air 2017 model. My parents bought it for me in 2018 (I think?) when I got into Uni. It was my first ever laptop and still is, they bought it for me as a student laptop but also I'm using it to this day both for work and video editing (though it does get super loud and hot). Because of the struggles I have with video editing, and I'd definitely like to do more of that, I've been planning to buy a MacBook Pro for a while... but also spending $3000+ (cause I want the 16 inch one too) is a lot and I'm still working on it. but someday for sure.

Exciting, I’ve just received my new Mac, too! I also immediately ordered a Burga sleeve for it, since I'm so scared of scratching it....
got the same color, same specs just a day before. To me, the fingerprint problem sure is annoying but not a major issue, I have confidence I can ignore it. I choose the midnight black color simply because I want something different. I'm a MacBook user since 2014, the last MacBook I'm using is a 2017 MacBook Air 13inch, and it's the common silver color. So from the start, grey and silver are out of the choice, starlight seems cool but still not distinctively enough from the light color such as white/silver. It's just faint gold. So I choose midnight black to have that completely different looks.
How it's been going so far? Im using the M1 Pro MacBook, but the m3 air has a real update on chipset since the m1 air, does it feel like it heats or something? anyways great unboxing

I have a MacBook Air (M2) base model too, and so far it has handled everything I threw at it…including some basic video-editing. 🙂 Also, personally I think the storage doesn’t really matter as you can (and should) just put your files and folder on an external HDD or SSD (it’ll keep your Mac more lighter and consequently faster); if you really wanna upgrade something, better to upgrade the RAM as that is where the processing power actualy resides. 👍
You can use the same usb c charger from the Mac Pro with the new m3 air as well. You can use either the MagSafe 3 or one of the thunderbolt ports
The color Midnight looks really good on Macbook air.
I never liked the space black (which is very dark color) on the thick macbook pro.
you can also charge the macbook air with usbc. you get both options
I switched to a MacBook last December and the first thing I did was buying a case as well as a laptop sleeve from Burga for it. MacBooks are honestly so expensive, thus I believe you should really invest in their protection

Midnight looks sick but I cannot deal with the smudges and fingerprints. My sanity would thank me for getting the silver or starlight
What camera did you use?
I got MacBook Pro M3 Pro chip on my birthday but then the next day , MacBook Air M3 just came out , should I trade my old MacBook Air for M3?
I don't know why I need to get this other then I don't have a laptop and Im studying. I have an iPad Pro 12.9 with pen and Magic Keyboard which I plan to use for studying to see if I can use it for my studies. I do want to start a UA-cam channel, write a book and do more on the socials. I think I may have to invest for the future.
start with what you have. I have been doing all that(taking videos,edits, studying, writing a book, research ) on my phone 80% of the time and 20%on an iPad. Don’t let the delay stop you.

thought you could also charge via USB C on the opposite side of the magsafe charging port? so you could charge it on either side.. you just need a usb c charger/cable
No there's o port on that opposite side except for the 3.5mm jack
@@caircuacua6370 yeah you're right. i got confused bc of the editing.. i didn't see she switched to a diff laptop. crazy how apple thinks their designs (at least port wise) are a good idea. apple makes such trash design choices... a great example is their mouse that has the charging port on the bottom.. on the B O T T O M of the mouse...
was thinking about getting the m2 air.. but yeah.. the lack of usb c ports on both sides is insanely poor ... esp in 2024. i hope the next one gives options to charge on either side.
was thinking i'd get the 15" bc apple 100% must have put a usb c on both sides bc it's so big... NOPE... such ass design choices. 15" mba 100% should have ports on both sides since it's so big.

It's not suppose to! Each have their unique specifications/uses!! It's matter of preference, in terms of what you use it for on a daily basis. For me, the MacBook Air has served its purpose for years now. So I'll stick to the MacBook Air for years to come👍🏾

Sofia, I'm sorry to interfere in your business, but I'm quite mixed by your choices regarding the purchase of your new MacBook...
Already, 8GB of RAM for video editing (especially if you use Final Cup Pro), you risk to be disappointed. Since it is subject to numerous crashes (Apple itself recommends going up to 16GB minimum).
I understand that you want to save money. But there, your MacBook Air won't last you very long... And one last thing, if you like fingerprints, you will be served.
M3 doesn’t have so many fingerprints as m2. And midnight is lovely colour, at least she won’t have starlight as every girl
She stated at the beginning of the video that if you were using the MacBook for editing you would want a pro but the MacBook Air is good for light use and great for students.

How I wish Apple will make MacBooks lighter. Even my M2 MacBook Air is heavier than my Windows notebook that carries a lot of power like a MacBook Pro.
