Hey Johnny 👋 loved your video I bought a Washington, Boomer Deluxe 500 and A99 as a package deal, I absolutely love the old Washington such a great receiver DX all around the planet. Thanks again for sharing.
Beautiful setup , you got a great radio there !! Nice 👍. I had a brand new one in 1998 I wish I woulda kept it . That’s what this hobby is about , helping your fellow radio friends , being good neighbors and meeting folks . Keep the hobby alive 👍. Good job 👍
When the SHTF these radio's will be a necessity. I have two radio's and some hand held. I just was going to use them if we were traveling in two vehicles so we can talk to each other...That and a fact I was a truck driver for years...I am down here in East Texas, but I lived most of my life in the Toledo area....
A good extension speaker will make it sound better. I have two of those Uniden 'Washington' base stations and the cheap little speaker inside the radio is actually much smaller then the front speaker grill. I have an old wooden speaker cabinet with a 5" speaker that has a large magnet on the back and also mounted a high frequency tweeter with it. It makes any CB radio sound 100% better.
Just watched this video, ive just inherited dads old base station. A little older than yours, dating back to about 78. Extra channels added as well, with a list from the late 70s taped to the top. Would be interesting to compare our lists to see if anything is the same or different
Very cool story and a great pc of Cb history !! I’m pretty new to the hobby so I have much to learn from the OGs of the Cb world lol I did just pick up a 1977 president Washington new ,never used ,in the box Definitely a rare find now days!! Nice radio I have the same one. that's actually the late 90s Philippines model 70s and 80s model was the President Washington if you look inside all the resistors and components are the real small micro ones that's the later version of the Philippines ...
That’s what I have I need to work done on it now so much I put extra channels in it messed it up my meters broken I talk on a galaxy 95T handle Shepfc1 on Sideband or Shep on ch 20 or 19
I know this video is a year-old you probably fixed it . replace your potentiometer for the.... AM, USB, LSB I had that problem on a radio that I had but mine had that issue with the USB and I had a bad potentiometer. I replaced it and it took care of the problem... 73s
Don't throw any CB in the garbage, someone will take it for free. Just put it on Craigslist. I have a Teaberry model T tube radio and also a DAK Mk 10. I wouldn't get rid of them for anything even though the DAK has a keying problem. I paid $300 for the DAK, and I'd like to find someone local to work on it because it weighs about 30 Pounds and the cost of shipping it would be huge, especially with the size of the radio. I live in W. Pa. and there aren't repair shops around me anymore. What channel are you on? I'd like to give you a shout. I think I might have a Washington. I kind of lost track of all the radios I have but that radio looks familiar. I have a Cobra 2000 with extra chanells and 2 speakers with a D-104. I haven't turned it on in years. I have it in the original box other than the extra speaker and D-104. For my antenna, I have a original CLR2. that can handle up to 2K watts. Right now, I run an RCI 2950 first edition, and I also have a antenna tuner so that I ca get my SWR down to basically zero.
