I had 999 wood and under 300 for brick and metal, 8 people left, met one guy who had high ground on me, so I built up to a hill nearby, the guy pushed me so we got into a really small build fight that lasted like 10 seconds? I won but had 200 mats remaining. Lost the game cuz the circle was getting really small and there wasn't anywhere else to farm becuz final circle was at Lucky Landing, which was my starting location, and I already destroyed the important objects for mats. Also lost the game cuz a fckign sweaty try hard was camping high up and got the lucky zone moving behind him, so right as I was about too move some dumb shit noob shotgunned me which alerted the try hards attention and started spraying at me. What do you know, the try hard won. This all took place in the Alpha Tournament where I was playing safe. Had 3 kills but it was unwinable with less than 1000 mats.
I started at day 1 aswell and watching these vids almost makes me cry of what it has become today, watching this gives you back that feeling and vibe fortnite gave you back then. scared of running to people, everyone was on the same skill level and no sweats everyone was having so much fun alone and with their friends making the best memories ever of this game. dag 1 till season 3 were the best, I played from day 1 till early season 8 and after that i quit the fun and vibe was gone, and i yesterday i started playing it again since then but everything we knew en felt back then is gone the locations, guns everything, if you ran into a fight back then you just hid behind a tree or roof or build just 1 wall in front of you and if you had a tower on the hill they didnt build a stairway up or try t shoot you down they just ran over the field xD and yesterday i came into a fight and that kid build a whole castle in 3 seconds. i would do anything to go back to the og days, and maybe someday they add the OG map from day 1 with everything how it was, maybe then we will get a little of that og feeling and vibe back and that getting a victory royale hypes you up! I'm definitely not a multitasking type of person...I can't even use 3 fingers on my shoulder and trigger buttons cuz it would be "too much" for me. You can laugh at me for saying that and tell me I shouldn't play this game then if I can't even do it physically like a sweat but I unlike many others I don't take this game seriously. I group up with friends and have some good rounds here and there. It's nice to win but mostly I don't. It's not like I care about win/lose ratio. Never did so in CoD, so I won't do it here. The point is that this extreme over the top building is not necessary to be good at the game. If you are good at combat and have decent aim, it already worth a lot, trust me. Just praying that your beloved pump will save your day after jumping down isn't always going to do the job if someone just waits for the moment he jumps and hits the headshot with his own shotgun or sprays him down with a P90. It's also sad to see how people abuse traps in combination with very limited building to trap you in sniper only game modes. This shows that people forgot the main aspects of combat in the game.

i was 15 when fortnite first came out and i told my online friends about it and we loved it and all used to get on after school. we played it until about season 4/5 and that’s when it got toxic. i’m now 19 and as much as i hate what fortnite has become, back when i was 15 i had some of the best times on it
I realise I got a little kick just from the sound of picking up bandages. I don't really miss the gameplay from back then, I just miss everything being exiting, feeling my heart beating every fight. Knowing that I'd always have at least 3 friend ready and as exited as me to play and get better. One upside the game had back then was the variety in fights though. I miss dropping Jail and crouching around for 3 minutes with another guy until we finally confronted each other. Now every fight is a shotgun duel of a build-off or both. I realise that it's only like this because the playerbase got better, so there is really nothing to complain about. I just miss it.

I started at day 1 aswell and watching these vids almost makes me cry of what it has become today, watching this gives you back that feeling and vibe fortnite gave you back then. scared of running to people, everyone was on the same skill level and no sweats everyone was having so much fun alone and with their friends making the best memories ever of this game. dag 1 till season 3 were the best, I played from day 1 till early season 8 and after that i quit the fun and vibe was gone, and i yesterday i started playing it again since then but everything we knew en felt back then is gone the locations, guns everything, if you ran into a fight back then you just hid behind a tree or roof or build just 1 wall in front of you and if you had a tower on the hill they didnt build a stairway up or try t shoot you down they just ran over the field xD and yesterday i came into a fight and that kid build a whole castle in 3 seconds. i would do anything to go back to the og days, and maybe someday they add the OG map from day 1 with everything how it was, maybe then we will get a little of that og feeling and vibe back and that getting a victory royale hypes you up! GG everyone that is a OG

@@Anthh07 Actually no, I don't. When my aim is right, I even get those who try to kill me when jumping from his stair he built with my own shotgun. A fact is...if you couldn't build, most would suck in 1v1 gunfights. I tried it with few friends and they lost when they weren't allowed to build.

I'm definitely not a multitasking type of person...I can't even use 3 fingers on my shoulder and trigger buttons cuz it would be "too much" for me. You can laugh at me for saying that and tell me I shouldn't play this game then if I can't even do it physically like a sweat but I unlike many others I don't take this game seriously. I group up with friends and have some good rounds here and there. It's nice to win but mostly I don't. It's not like I care about win/lose ratio. Never did so in CoD, so I won't do it here. The point is that this extreme over the top building is not necessary to be good at the game. If you are good at combat and have decent aim, it already worth a lot, trust me. Just praying that your beloved pump will save your day after jumping down isn't always going to do the job if someone just waits for the moment he jumps and hits the headshot with his own shotgun or sprays him down with a P90. It's also sad to see how people abuse traps in combination with very limited building to trap you in sniper only game modes. This shows that people forgot the main aspects of combat in the game.

Dope Records my first game was three hours after br released, I played on pc. I took a one month break to go to a camp and chill and when I came back it wasn’t fortnite anymore. I realise I got a little kick just from the sound of picking up bandages. I don't really miss the gameplay from back then, I just miss everything being exiting, feeling my heart beating every fight. Knowing that I'd always have at least 3 friend ready and as exited as me to play and get better.
One upside the game had back then was the variety in fights though. I miss dropping Jail and crouching around for 3 minutes with another guy until we finally confronted each other. Now every fight is a shotgun duel of a build-off or both. I realise that it's only like this because the playerbase got better, so there is really nothing to complain about. I just miss it.
