Congratulations on 500 episodes and thank you for creating a fine body of work that I am sure has educated many people and will continue to do so for many years to come, as well as some great entertainment.
Congratulations on reaching 500th SNNC. My Dad died at age 83 in 1992, and, like you, I still:miss not being able to discuss Engineering and vintage, motorbikes, cars, etc with him. Keep up the good work canny lad!
John I’m sure all your viewers appreciate you time and effort in producing these videos, you are the embodiment of a hard working English chap, your daughter Emmy is a star and you must be very proud of her, good work John and looking forward to another 500 episodes 👴🏻👍
Congratulations on 500, John! Hard to believe it's been that many. What a milestone. I've enjoyed every one of them. You are, by far, my favorite metalworking channel. Nobody 'pisses about' better than you. Looking forward to 500 more. Thanks for all you do.
Congratulations John on 500 x2 nightcaps. That was a brilliant Q and A. And yes I am the person that went into Browns in Edinburgh with my son and realised it was being run by Emmy. I must have been watching you now getting on for a decade. You are an inspiration.
Really enjoyed this video. My dad is a mechanic, now 80 and he works 1-2 days a week. I spend as much time with him in the shop as I can. His passion is old tractors and antique fire engines. I will happily up my patreon in hopes you get thursdays in the home shop.
Congrats on the 500th SNNC! Em is a gem and could work public relations at any level. Keith Fenner was one of my first UA-cam creators to watch, after Mr. Pete. Mr. Pete sent me to Keith. If you do merch again I'll order another T-shirt; lost the last one on a camping trip. I do cherish my "bell-end" collet spanner. Best to you and yours.
500x2 is a great body of work plus the specials and its an awesome effort. Condolences to Debs on the loss of her mum. They all go eventually but our love for them never changes. Tonight was a lovely nightcap. Emmy as quizmaster getting us the answers was great. Occasional visits from her and always a treat to see her. Ive been messing about in my workshop for years but youve taught me plenty. Best wishes for the next 500 from Norfolk.
Thank you for putting all this effort in educating us. Just about everything I do on my lathe and mill, I learned from you! Congratulations from Belgium!
Congratulations John I would just like to say thank you most of what I know about machining I owe to you I have a boxford lathe which I bought after watching all your videos when you had your boxford And I've even won one of your give aways Thanks Kevin
Great vlog John, nice too to get to know you a bit more. It was a pleasure to meet you in person at the Harrogate Enginering show despite snow outside! We didn’t do too bad coming from South Yorkshire and North East (must look up on a map to see where that is!) Some great memories shared too makes us remember our own kin that are no longer with us. Cheers and thanks for sharing. Stay well you two.
Great to "have a visit" with Emmy and John. Liked the Q and A. Still feel bad from the video where Debs hit her thumb. Glad she was OK. Cheers and congratulations on 500 nightcap videos!
Congratulations on 500 episodes. I’ve seen them all. I would have lost a million dollar bet that beautiful Emmy was only 30 years old. She’s such a looker. I hope you have 500 more episodes. Until next time. Cheers.
Thank you, John (and Emmy). I've enjoyed all your videos from the past, but this is probably my new favorite. It's interesting to watch you machining and working in your shop, but it's very interesting to hear your "history" and witness some of your personality. It would be interesting to sit at a pub and visit with you. Again, thank you from the USA.
Dear John, Congratulations. My Sunday nights have been a great pleasure over the years and I wish you well. Condolences to your family over your recent loss. God bless.
John sincere congratulations on the 500th episode. I’ve been following you since the first turbine engine you built. I got to say out of all the you tubers you are the one who is honest and the one I can watch every week regardless of content oh and Keith fenner no beating around the bush. Keep it real as you have done. Live long and prosper mate.
Thank you John and Emmy for this enlightening video into your lives. It only adds to the integrity and honesty already existing in John's videos. You have such an earthy way about you that is so refreshing on UA-cam. I also love your cooking videos... maybe it's time for another... ???
Congrats on the 500th video! Looks like you might hit that 100k subs by the end of the year! Speaking of double boost weren't you started on another turbine build? I don't remember it being finished. I think I remember you test firing it or maybe just testing the oiling but I don't remember seeing it run dialed in.
I think we are of a similar age John. I used my first lathe, milling machine and shaper at school, when I went to secondary school at 11 or 12. Kids just don't have those opportunities any more, mores the pity. I'm starting to retire and although I've had an old Triumph lathe for over 30 years, I'm only now putting together a decent workshop. Have enjoyed watching your videos for a couple of years now since I found the UA-cam world of machining and Keith Fenners channel along with Abom79 carried me to you. Then of course there is "Stefan". Keep up the excellent work as long as you can; both of you.
Thanks Emmy and John. A well rounded interview. Loved the picture of your Dad at the end. Lost mine a few years ago but he is still with me via his tools as well. Cam
Congratulations on 500 snnc's!! Your channel was one of the first channels i subscribed to on youtube. I never miss an episode! Thanks for all of your knowledge and hard work John. Cheers!!
Great episode! Congratulations on the 500th episode, always nice to see Emmy in the workshop. I think I remember you had a clip of your dad playing the piano as well a while back, if I remember correctly.
John, I found you at the beginning of covid and I never miss your weekly progs, one thing I do like is your use of the Kings English when you occasionally drop or break something 😂I did notice how well you behaved in the presents of your daughter 🤣
Congrats on 500 episodes, and best wishes for many more. Ice cream van yes dogs bark at it, and it always leaves. Had that last night, ice cream van running around to sell out the last he could before going home, not too likely seeing it is still pretty nippy in winter time here.
Thanks for the many hours of enjoyment watching You on Doubleboost John. I really like the motorcycle parts being repaired after Years of abuse .Just like You ,my interest started at evening classes in the local school in the late '40s .I still use (abuse) a boxford lathe and have a shedfull of S***e!
My dad was a precision engineer for 25 years, he made loads of parts for 1960s and 70s British made jet engines used on military aircraft, he then became a specialist grinder manufacturing gears to very fine tolerances. My mum hated him coming in covering the house even though he always changed at work. It was always in his shoes and she used to go mad! After 25 years he left the trade and the swarf was no more!
Well done Emmy, the North East is renowned for engineering, Ships, Turbines and Coal mining. Expensive taste in wine john, thats a proper drink, ref job wise. Onwards and upwards John, Debs and family. Thanks for sharing
Congratulations on 500! I remember when you hit 100, and hope to be here when you hit 1000! I love to watch every week, and I've learned quite a few things over the years, including how to set up a 4 jaw chuck.
G'day to John & Emma the Interviewist .( I know there is No such Word..LOL )... This was a really interesting segment, with lots of Interesting questions & answers. Emma, you will have to come back for more Interviews. Keep up the good work, & we will see you on the merry go round
Thanks John I’ve learned a lot from your videos welding turning and milling ,thanks to Emmy for brightening up the vids lovely lass and Debs welding skills did you have to drill her nail to relieve the nail pressure 🙈here’s to a lot more workshop moments and like me John your dads with you always thanks top lad 🍺🍺👍👨🏻🏭
Nice video John. Loved the questions too. I have a question for you. If you had your time again would you still be a motor mechanic or would you be a manual machinist doing prototypes? Thank you.
Hows that song go I walked 500 well maybe not walked I've enjoyed every one including the cooking as has Sue (she can be very critical at times LOL) Keep them coming John & Deb & Emmy as well as the others who make appearances from time to time. I do miss the casting work though.
John where can I buy a drawing of the steam engine in the background near your daughter. I've built loads of steam engines the the last was 3 Stewart 5A all fabricated out of old steel and cast iron. I would like to get into something a bit different. I'm 84 years now and my passion is building steam engines I live in Australia I came hear from England when I was 9 years old for £10. I really enjoy your videos. Cheers Doug.
Congratulations on 500 episodes and thank you for creating a fine body of work that I am sure has educated many people and will continue to do so for many years to come, as well as some great entertainment.
John, you are an inspiration, a role model and a legend. Thank you for doing what you do and being you.
Congratulations on reaching 500th SNNC. My Dad died at age 83 in 1992, and, like you, I still:miss not being able to discuss Engineering and vintage, motorbikes, cars, etc with him. Keep up the good work canny lad!
