Very informative. I want to know about the reduced chest expansion in autoimmune disease. I have ankylosing Spondylitis and chest expansion is very less. I feel stiffness and pain. What are the causes lung disease chest wall ?? How all this releated ??
Chest expansion reduces in Ankylosing Spondylitis due to the overall stiffness in the joints especially that of the spine and the thoracic area. With less chest mobility, the lungs are not able to expand completely as required thus causing restrictive pulmonary disorders due to the restricted lung volumes caused by the chest wall immobility and thoracic rigidity.
I did ultrasound, and found inflammation in cartridge, initially there was a swelling like tumor, and pain as well. Now it's been 1 year, still i have hard immovable swelling in the same place, ie, breast bone. Is this Costocondris or something else, kindly clear my confusion

Madam, I am suffering from chest muscle tightness from past 2 years. It can be felt more while lying on bed. I release the stiffness by moving my neck and head on opposite side of stiffness. It again happens after few minutes. I have consulted ample of doctors, some say due to posture, some say due to gastritis etc. Please suggest to me what needs to be done as it is hampering my day to day activities.
