Can't wait to get one! I bought a new fw35 with centralized controls about 4 weeks ago and love it. Video review of the fw35 coming soon on my channel!
i never heard of ferris? i saw a landscaper the other day had a zero turn on his trailer and it looked heavy duty so i thought id check them out. soo far ferris looks pretty good.
By the way, bought at a place that sells the Wright mowers also. No comparison. Watch wrights comparison video. They avoid talking about the Ferris and even say it has more power.
Just have question. Everyone post how good these stand on are and I'm seriously thinking about one but, know one ever tells about the ride experience. Like if your on it for a 2 to 3 hours at one time. How does your body feel when you get done. I have a yard that it literally takes me 3 hrs to mow.
+ask steevies I had nothing but trouble with the Evolution . didn't even get 100 hours on it and it spent most it's time getting warranty work done to it. Bad wiring ,drive control cables rubbing through, safety switch is going out, wheel motor bearing went bad , kept shearing off wheel motor shaft Keys and the list goes on !. Adjustment on mower deck was not what you call easy or operator friendly . I have to say though that the Ferris rep was very pleasant to work with and made it right with me ASAP . We ended up trading it in for a new IS 2100
10 Hours on my Z2. Cut is excellent. Have the Vanguard... could be stronger. I have a smaller Kohler on a Bad Boy with a lager deck and it cuts thicker and taller grass easier. Cut isn't as nice as the Ferris though. I can fly around turns with this mower, cuts so fast. Only major complaint is the grass discharge chute. Was going along a wall and the rubber bent down, as expected. To my disappointment the rubber folded under the deck allowing the blade to chop it to shreds. $8000 mower with a 50 cent chute. VERY POOR DESIGN! Other than that, great mower. Put something like a grass flap on from the factory please! The rubber discharge chutes are only good if you're cutting a field.
Ferris is American made, therefore I don't mind spending extra 2 or 3 grand or more. I wish from John Deere " China built " to Ferris quite a few years ago and I will never ever buy anything else . Ferris mowers are very ,very well built machines. Ferris has more grease fittings and more general maintenance than any other more I've ever owned but it's worth it . Deck adjustment on the Ferris mower is a little time consuming but with a little patience it's really not that bad.
Ferris mowers are junk. If it's got a Kawasaki engine you're lucky to get 1000 hours out of it before it starts burning a quart of oil every few hours, blowing blue smoke out the exhaust on startup, fowling the spark plugs and just running like crap. Not to mention everything on these mowers is a pain to work on if a part needs to be replaced. The decks are grass magnets and take forever to clean off due to the tight quarters. My company got one as a demo and purchased two of them because it had a comfortable seat and a spring suspension system which made for a cushy ride over bumps. But if you mow at full speed even on relatively flat land they cut like crap. I hate everything about these mowers. If you want something more dependable that cuts well, and is still made in the USA, Exmark is what you want.

Warmed-over underpowered Dixie Chopper ripoff except with a fatally flawed transmission!
I hate how they pronounce ferris like "fairiss".
