@@SkinnersOffGrid my husband are starting our homestead in eastern Tennessee I am very encouraged how you both work so well together, we do to but logging is going to be different.
Hi Heather and Cecil..Like the vids keep up the good work. I see Heather with a Port Colborne shirt and I know Cecil has one...we are from Welland and just curious if Cecil was from there?
I kinda wondered when you would try swinging those trees on the bed of that trailer. Same way we loaded logs on trucks to go to the mill many years ago. We would get to the mill and use a "A" frame to unload the logs onto a convayor that fed the mill. It took just as long to unload as to load but the mill paid more for our time as we would normally just trip the stakes and let the logs roll of and any that stayed on we ran cable under the rest and tied to something on the side we wanted them to roll and then lifted the cable and they would all come off at once then. Those logging skills never left me and made several things easier for me to do other things in a similar manor. good job
First time commenting but been following you wonderful people for some time now. Cecil, Heather made that look much more easy than you. Heather all that working with those logs have given you some major guns. Cecil beware she’s become a very strong lady and will be cracking a whip on you soon. Hahaha. I love the tenacity you both show. Keep up the work it’s going to pay off big time.
Hello Bernard, well thank you very much for commenting. Yes Heather's becoming very good at logging and lots of other work on our homestead. Thanks again. Cheers!
Hello, thanks...this little quad isn't like the rest ;-) I added heavier springs on the basket clutch and added heavier shoeing to the centrifugal clutch, plus I welded a thin flat bar around the outer part to the centrifugal clutch as well...this keeps the outer part from warping or cracking. It'll be fine. It's pulled way heavier loads than this. ua-cam.com/video/6ps1eMo__nc/v-deo.html Thanks again. Cheers!
It’sWorking great but look at the video, I’m starting to see a lot of flex on the bottom of the main pole of the winch mount. I think maybe that metal is getting a little fatigued, it’s probably time to put some gusseting and some more frame support across there. It looks to me like it’s twisting where it’s mounted to the trailer frame, I’m thinking the trailer frame just needs to be beefed up in that area. From what I remember your mouth should be strong enough I’m guessing it’s twisting the frame metal itself and that’s what needs to be beefed up and stiffened
Hello Gary...probably because I weigh almost 200lbs and she weighs under 130lbs, these logs weigh around 1200lbs, if they start to swing they can do a lot of damage to herself or the ATV. Thanks. You have a great evening. Cheers!
@@SkinnersOffGrid You should try using a pike pole then...to put some distance between you guys and the logs, instead of that little hook you got. You can move bundles around with a pike pole. (A proper log boom pike pole, that is)
ME THINKS THE INSTRUCTOR IS KINDA SCARED HE M IGHT BE LOSIN HIS JOB LOADIN DA LOGS;;LOL;;;HEATHER DON'T NEED INSTRUCTIONS CAUSE SHE BEEN SCHOOLIN FOR AWHILE;;;;SHE MOVED DEM LOGS AROUND TO THETRAILER LIKE A PRO;;;;LOLL;;;;;YA GOT IT GOIN GIRL;;;I THINK ITS TIME FOR THE INSTRUCTOR BE MAKIN A PIE FOR HEATHER;;;LOL;;;;
I’m sorry but there are a few things to worry about in this video. Like where are their steel toes at, do they think they feet is made of steel or iron? I’m not sure but even if those are steel toe, I wouldn’t wear them in the woods. Them logs of that size will crush their feet. Anyone who walks in the woods with tennis shoes has balls of steel
Ya going to break your ATV . Never built to handle that much grunt work , paved or gravel road it will be okay , but soft forest floor ? It'll break . . . Ah , don't ask me how I know
Hello, I am using a 3000lb Champion winch. The first one I got had a manufacturers defect..they replaced it for free, this one has been working flawlessly for a couple years now. Cheers!
Thanks for the reply..I built a home made log trailer and bought a 4500 lb vevor winch it made hurendous noise lowing a 175lb log . Vevor replaced it the second one winch won't come out in free spool.. nightmare. I have a 4500 champion on my ranger been great over two years now. Futher reading on champion winches they say if you use them to lift things off the ground they won't stand behind it. To me if your winching another avt up a hill and for some reason you need to let it back down it under load just like lifting ?
I like that Moto 4!

i like heathers shirt i have one of those
Yall doin fine.. spent a lifetime loading logs with a cable loader..
Just a tid bit adjustable Tag wheels on your extension would, or can also act as outriggers on your little trailer don't you think?
You just might smoke the transmission in that quad pulling heavy loads like that. Just might. lol

i guess you will have to invest in an umbrella for the camera to keep it cool. now the contest begins ,who is the better logger. stay well
Sorry, typo, should be: are you going to put in X bracing?
Why wouldn't she be able to load the logs? She absolutely knows how and can handle herself very well around such things. Thumbs Up to her.

👍🇩🇰🇩🇰😁
