This is how I first discovered the midnight a couple of weeks ago because youtube just started playing this. I was like I need to look up the midnight and hear how they sound with their own music. I was amazed. I was like how have I never heard of the Midnight and thought they were new at first then saw they were from the 80's.
Hey! So happy to hear this, The Midnight were a big inspiration for me getting into making electronic music with the infections blend of that 80s aesthetic with modern production values. "The Kids Trilogy" of Kids > Monsters > Heroes is quite the journey, highly recommend listening to those records in order.

Hey! Has it really been three years?! When I was putting this together I was satisfied with how the vocal separation turned out however, with HUGE developments in technology it may be possible to get a better sample. I’m amazed it even came out as good as it did! So in terms of improvement that would be the main aspect I’d revisit in addition to trying to get some more vocals from the original song in ( the Veldt samples I managed to find were very limited ) There’s also the subject of the pitch / key which over the years has been fun to watch the debate, all I can say on that is as I tinkered to see if the pieces would fit together it sounded good to me and that’s how it stayed, it’s really interesting to Me because it shows our individual perceptions of sound. At the same time as I continue my journey I’ve had to really learn when something “is done” otherwise I just tinker and tinker and get stuck in this loop of not finishing anything, / just have to let things exist as they are. That said, I’d love to hear any ideas you have on what could make it better, it’s always handy having a set of fresh ears to do the audio litmus test!
