    This modern release has been so frustrating for me, not gloating when I say that every sport has always come naturally to me and I excelled at sports my entire life picking up whatever I played right away. For the life of me I cannot understand what is happening here and man, I've tried, a lot. It's like my body and mind just cannot come to terms with the mechanics of it. I see it, and my mind goes huh? Its described to me in this video and my mind goes but wait? There have been points where I think ive got it, got to the lanes and what happens is an absolute nightmare, lol. There is that little area (release zone) where the ball seems to float into a cup position and I cannot get this to happen to matter what I try. Im 6'2 215 pounds not a small dude, have great timing, 200 average bowler but with the speed and revs of Walter Ray. I know, I know he's the best to ever do it and while I understand all this and love guys like him and Norm, it's just that itch, I put my mind to something and now that I cannot do it, I'm going absolutely crazy trying to figure it out. Going your entire life having sports come super easy and not being able to do something is infuriating. I have so much respect for bowlers that have this release, being a 200 average is ok but I want more and I would really love to see my ball go down the lane like this. I took a lesson and the first thing the guy says to me is that he does not change releases. Said if im a Walter Ray then thats what I am and I refuse to accept this. Its not like Im trying to learn nuclear fusion, stochastic integration, ITO calculus at the age of 90 or is it? :) Im a decently young man in solid shape, what the hell am I missing here...................

      The modern release is wrong for most bowlers in that it's overcomplicating the objective, which is to let go at the right time, thus preserving the power in the timing.
      the simpler the release, the better.
      From cranker to traditional curved, the well timed release should be simple and easy - not contrived by any means.
      I'm saying the fingers should come up the side of the ball with the hand continuing to face up to the sky.
      Accuracy is achieved with the straight back and through delivery so you want to trust the ball to go where it's already going.
      Balance will keep the ball going with the direction and power already being generated in the perfectly timed release.

    Great job! I just discovered this video after buying a book recently. This video is a book in itself! I now study this video and it will be part of my library forever. I will certainly look for more things you have to help improve my game and support you any way I can. I don't know where your facility is, but one day I will find it, and count me in for lessons. Thanks again for your contribution on the great game of bowling!

      Mohammed , I'm just getting back into Bowling after a 25 year break, Proof, My ball was a Earl Anthony Magnum 9, held 183-187 avg ! I'm learning there is so much more to the game and these proactive and reactive cores! WoW, before I could hit about any spare but was uhhh lucky to see 3-4 strikes in a game, made it tough to hit low 200, sure I have had zinger days like everyone, but aside from No-tap Tourney have yet to hit an honest 300!
      Anyway, mid50's now. & after having carpal tunnel surgery I don't have the wrist/grip strength & power to bring ball up very far behind me w/o worrying about folks behind me LOL, (any tips there), also found that I'm only doing a 3 step approach compared to my old 5-6 step! ball speed 12-15mph according to lanes I'm on, faster and sloppier as I get warmed up!
      I bought a ROTO-GRIP Critical WOW, I don't have the speed or Rev Rate, but she makes the pins dance, my high w/it so far is 249, but i'm very inconsistent w/spares & score hitting lows in 140's ! Any tips!
      thank you again and May The Good Lord Bless your Endeavors
      MC

    Enjoyed watching this and I hope this can improve my average score. If you’re making a part 2 I would say to include the spare shooting system and how to shoot better spares since that’s a big part of the game

    Dear mister Mohamed, at 14:11 the video says that the 4th step must be slowest than others. But at the 21:19, in the check point 3, as the ball is at the top of the swing, the video says that the step must be quick. What is the correct one? How should the 4th step be done?

    Mohammed, part 1 was great and I'm sure a big benefit to bowlers around the world. Because of that I was looking forward to part 2 . Just curious to find out... but since we nearing the end of 2017, it is starting to seem like you have given up on the idea of continuing on with this series. Am I on the right track with that line of thinking?

    • @propogandy
      @propogandy  7 років тому +5

      Thanks Trojan... the problem I faced when I did part 1 was most of the coaches and associations were against me because I have used few of their vids.. it was clearly used for educational purposes and not for any commercial. Those were well known coaches and I was shocked ...Part 2 will be released but it will take time because of what happened in part 1...

    • @trojanword107
      @trojanword107 7 років тому +3

      That is unfortunate to hear. It is too bad that people in bowling are too small minded to realize that anyone that brings positive attention to bowling is actually good for bowling! I look forward to your next video. Keep Up The Good Work.

    • @OGMillenial86
      @OGMillenial86 7 років тому

      Shocking to hear that! What if you were to do a part 2 of yourself and some other bowlers that perform the modern release and capture footage of exactly what you want to demonstrate? I am aware that it does cost $$$ to get the cameras and equipment to do this but it's a thought. Could even do a patreon or go fund me drive to fund the project.

      Cuz usbc is a money hungry machine that wants to make all players fit to serve the machine

    • @Bunghole35
      @Bunghole35 5 років тому

      BAMCIS13450703 correct a Mundo USBC are money hungry bitches. Look they changed the way you have to drill a ball no more counter balance weight hole by 2020. What's the harm of using these pro bowlers videos as examples nobody is hurting anybody!!! But to Mahomid great work this is the best well thought out videos on how to release a bowling ball.

  • @jeffxanders3990
    @jeffxanders3990 2 роки тому +3

    The modern release is wrong.
    The simplest release is the best release, whether you're a cranker or traditional curved baller.
    The hand should keep facing up as the fingers come up the side of the ball, regardless of cupped wrist, straight wrist or weak wrist - all of which can be employed to accommodate lane conditions, if you have that talent.
    The power comes from good timing.
    Accuracy is already there with the straight back and through delivery.
    All you have to do is get the balance right and trust the ball to go where it's already been aimed and release at the right time.
    If timing is off, so is your power, aim and balance.
    It's all about being relaxed with perfect timing.
    After this, your style is your own, which will determine your equipment.
    If I can't accomplish all I need to with one ball, I feel like I need to work on a particular talent related to the situation... but that's just me.

    • @HobbyBowler
      @HobbyBowler Рік тому

      One question about the shoulders. Do you activly open and close them during the approach? Or is it a natural motion of the body caused by the swing?

    • @jeffxanders3990
      @jeffxanders3990 Рік тому +1

      @@HobbyBowler I learned late that you want to relax the shoulder that has the ball. Just let it drop naturally while keeping the shoulders square at the line.
      What happens up to that point should be the natural result of the approach as you keep the arc of the ball straight back and straight through.

    • @HobbyBowler
      @HobbyBowler Рік тому

      @@jeffxanders3990 thx. I just have a bit trouble with my body alignment

    • @jeffxanders3990
      @jeffxanders3990 Рік тому

      @HobbyBowler The focus should be on keeping a flat plane of arc of the ball for energy efficient delivery.
      You don't want to kill the power of your perfect timing.
      One of the ways you can preserve the power of the bowling stroke is to have an efficient and straight forward delivery.
      It's largely a personal choice of coordination.
      It really only matters that you can do it effectively every time.

    • @jeffxanders3990
      @jeffxanders3990 Рік тому +1

      There are only a few aspects of the bowling stroke that you need to drill:
      1. Timing at the line.
      2. Balance at the line.
      3. Release should be a natural motion that occurs at the right time so as to efficiently transfer the power without interrupting it.
      4. The approach should be a straight line at the same speed on the follow through so as not to interrupt the power and accuracy that's already there - trust the shot.
      5. Straight back, straight through, stiff arm, stiff wrist.
      Drill each aspect until it all becomes one smooth, easy motion from start to finish.

    A very admirable effort. It would be best to proof-read your text as there are a lot of errors. As well, try to make the explanations clearer (shorter with less jargon and more descriptive terms). Leaving the text on longer, or superimposing it on the images rather than a black screen might also help. Good luck!
