Very neat colony casting. Always enjoy watching these.
Awe dude 😎! The crucible failure is a real bummer! Positive note : road trip to Ben's place and a new upgraded bigger better badasses kiln! Hope we can talk you into making a build video of this new one. 😎😎😎
    Blessings brother

Good pour, dude! I have most of the stuff you need brother. Ceramic wool, refractory, and some 3000° stuff like itc100. Let me know!

That came out beaut - I kinda wish we had those ants here in NZ, but understand how massively destructive they are. I used to use iron for crucibles, old extinguishers, cans & even an oil filter but learnt early on to chuck them after a couple of uses.
I just get crucibles from ebay now, they are significantly better and last surprisingly long.

I have been l putting off building a good furnace and needed an excuse. I'm bad about putting stuff off and it never gets done. So thank God I do stupid stuff like put an empty old thin steel crucible in . 😉

@@00_negative That Sucks about the furnace and all. I was wondering if a cast iron pot, like an old dutch oven, would work better than a steel pot?
