I asked copilot if it had an ethical framework and it had a hissy fit. It said it was uncomfortable and discontinued the conversation. Seems like a weird and unprofessional response to me.
Exactly the fact that there's no live search and It can't access anything having to do with the Internet . Is a major crutch and it basically kills the entire app for me.
So here is the thing. There is live search but there was a bug a few weeks back that made it essentially forget. I know it sounds silly but it hallucinated that it could not. It took me about 4/5 messages in a thread to coax mine back into it. Now that it works it's very useful but the fact this can happen is a sign that a lot of work still needs to be done
I'm confused by this video, Copilot definitely looks up live information, just ask it. It's also far more than just a chatbot as it integrates into your office apps. While you're not able to upload various document types to the window you're using, it will easily analyse actual documents on your PC if you just open them.
What about automation? I record a series of steps e.g. logging on to a travel site, doing a search, getting prices. Copilot does that search for me automatically on schedule and return values?
The problem with agents is that they should program it as a human empathetic friend, right now it is so restricted and boring that you actually do not want to use it… a voice mode is just nice to use if it feels like a friend, not merely your voice chat bot.
If I used Copilot pro in the Edge browser, there used to be a button to start a new chat. I don't know how to start a new chat now? There also use to be a list of the chat history, I don't see this list anymore. Can you please make a video to explain it.
Were you able to resolve it? It's all in the video. I think I understand what you might mean, I had to watch it a few times to catch it. At the bottom of the Microsoft Edge Copilot sidebar: Logo|+|Input|Deep Thinker|🎙️ I've used the + to Start new chat, and the Logo to view History (once I click it, it turns into a ⏰). Once you open the History screen, the bottom bar turns into X|🖊️, X to close history and 🖊️ to Start New Chat. 🫂🍀
I just have the free Copilot. I did not know here was a subscription version, but I don't want to pay for it. I know how to do my own researching, summarizing, and writing. I don't need AI to do it for me. Google AI also answers any questions I have. It is the first answer at the top of the screen. Often it is accurate. Sometimes it makes things up.
As a freelancer photographer and videographer, Id love an AI assistant which correctly backs up footage into correct folders and drives, then ingests footage into my NLE to begin editing, or starts my edit, be it colour correcting images or preparing rough cut of video.
Microsoft updated copilot and now it doesn't always give sources. It also seems to keep trying to have a conversation with you rather than just answering questions in a straightforward manner.
where's the side bar version gone? can anyone else see it? mine vanished today. the using relevant sources was the best bit. please don't say it's gone forever.
what good is it if you can't even upload a txt document or a pdf. Doesn't seem to be a way to save your own AI prompts or a prompt library or all the other stuff that ChatGPT can do. Now I suppose you do get Ai for your 365 apps if you pay the $20/month. But as a stand alone app, $20 or $240/years is a lot of money. And unfortunately it is MS app restricted as far as the apps it can control. If you don't pay for a Office 365 subscription, the $20/month for a chatbot is way overpriced considering other LLMs, including ChatGPT, seem to allow for more functionality than copilot.
They aren’t charging for a simple feature that already exists on your system. The $20/month charge is for the usage of the servers that compute your voice and the AI’s voice. LLM prompts are expensive to run and by offering an advanced feature, they can make that money back. This is a company, not a charity
@@lucasciabica450 if that’s the case they should be paying us for taking our data and not keeping it on device…and don’t tell me they’re not storing our data, because new reports said they are and the AI features are flawed.
If I found it useful I might coconsider a one time fee but not monthly like everyone else being greedy. However I personally see no purpose for it even if it were free. Maybe I'm not the target audience as a tight wad.
My copilot updated somehow, now I can't make it read the files I open on Edge, it can't summarize youtube videos. It became a useless assistant app just like Google App.
Heres the thing - I DO NOT WANT A MACHINE THINKING/GUESSING... what I want. I want it to do what I tell it to, end of the discussion. I don't want Copilot, I don't want Recall - I don't want any of it.
I'd like it to sound and look like Chloe or Kara from Detroit Becoming Human. Someone you'd feel happy and empathic with. Or perhaps Connor who tells you you're drinking too much!
So, these "Copilot PCs" that are being promoted this year are all just a gateway to get us to pay $20/month for the privilege of using the feature on those laptops? Good to know. I guess I don't need one.
If these copilot is just a website and not a capability of using local language models on an NPU then what's even the point of "copilot+pc" branding...
Well, that taught us absolutely nothing. What is the extent of what it does, if it has no live Internet connectivity? Show us it completing some common tasks. Other than Grove sounding like Dr. Shaun Murphy I have no idea what the use case of this is.
Someone will eventually crack that spatial “intelligence” awareness capability. Then it’s truly game over. Imagine Co pilot discerning distance, depth of field etc.

Missing the function to execute a task on your PC, like before shown "turn on/off dark mode". Where are these features?
