Fairy Tail really has a plethora of best characters, from both protagonists and antagonists' sides. However, they were unfortunate enough to have been featured in a subpar, mid-ass anime.

The plot, animation quality, pacing, and overall execution also play crucial roles. Even with great characters, an anime can still be mediocre if these elements aren’t handled well. FT really is great but with a lot of issues so that's why it's forced to be downplayed like that

Technically tartaros can defeat acnologia in his human form cause they dont use magic, they use curses as being the demons of zeref so their attacks will damage him and together the nine demon gates can beat acnologia..

It also doesn't make sense for Acnologia to have been concerned about E.N.D since he never once addressed him. If it was any concern it was probably just the fact demons use curses so Acnologia wouldn't be immune to his abilities. Also I'm pretty sure the E.N.D we saw in Alvarez arc was the full thing

He is like rustyrose when he said "i am the King of the Underworld" Mard Geer is not from underworld, he is from zeref, oh and the 9 gates of demon they are not death, when they die they are send to their books, Mard Geer, could be in other reality or really death. Zeref could create him again, it wont be the same Mard Geer.
Yeah Acnologia getting beaten by Some puny dragonslayers it’s really a joke We all know Power of love and Friendship is corny yet it happens in every anime This arc got screwed up at least make someone strong like White wizard Zeref turn good and then take Acnologia down with himself I would be satisfied with that

He just wasn't expecting people to be able to do much to his dragon form without them in the physical world. Factors like Meredy's power weren't accounted for and she reached a level at that point to where she could share powers and not just feelings. So they beat his dragon form by abusing its motion sickness to trap it and then all the known mages in the world comboed via Meredy's powers to kill it. Acnologia wasn't beaten by 7 dragonslayers. You're oversimplifying it. He was beaten by basically the entire mage world + 7 dragonslayers all the while he made himself vulnerable in his arrogance. Also, even if Zeref turned good, he would end up killing everyone around him anyway because of, you know, how his curse worked. If he cares about someone's life, they die. And he already intended to stop Acnologia by going back in time. You seem to care more about dick-measuring pure strength comparison rather than what makes sense for the plot, or the protags winning because of character related reasons or out-maneuvering the enemy. Take your VS battle bullshit somewhere where it doesn't badly affect the story.
To till this day I can't stop laughing when I remember that the one Mard Geer was whorshipping was right infront of him, that is that Natsu was the actual E.N.D
