- The US Navy has poisoned the largest water supply in O'ahu, Hawaii. Nobody knows how long residents have been drinking toxic water, how big the chemical leak is, or how many it will impact. But instead of urgent action to save lives, the Navy is engaging in a cover up.

I am a lifelong Hawaii resident--since I've been alive, the US military has been degrading Oahu's natural and unique environment--we are heading to a path of unsustainability if something is not done now! The US military is a double edged sword--it offers protection--but it also destroys our natural resources! A shift or compromise must be realized!
The “protection” they offer is the same protection the mafia offers, except even when you pay the bribe they still destroy you.

In SF, where I live, we have Hunter's Point. The Navy brought several of the contaminated ships from the Bikini Island testing to study radiology and ended up contaminating large sections of the base. Now the base is closed and houses were built on poorly cleaned land. The testing was fudged and there is still cesium and other radioactive contamination, and reports of animal testing and fires are turning up. Seems like standard operations for the Navy.

I live in Oahu as well. I’m so sorry to hear you were ill! Are you receiving Navy water or Board of Water Supply water? If you receive a bill from BWS, report this IMMEDIATELY to them. So far only people receiving Navy water have gotten sick, if someone getting BWS water got sick that means the contamination has spread much farther than we thought.

Fresh drinking water is the most precious commodity for life we have, especially due to climate change. Why would you ever place a fuel storage facility above or around drinking water in the first place is beyond stupidity. As for the military’s denial tactics and classifying every stuff up they make, doesn’t fix anything and the problem will only get worse for them and everyone else.
Climate change??? Ask the u.s. Air Force how much weather manipulation they take part in such as project Popeye project storm Fury and the ongoing geoengineering practices daily such as solar radiation management and STRATOSPHERIC ATMOSPHERIC INJECTION using heavy metals and other poisonous chemicals being sprayed daily , in conjunction with manipulation of frequency such as HAARP in Alaska and other ionospheric heaters used worldwide to manipulate the weather. They have passed it off as global warming and now it is called climate change but these are the evil bastards who are interfering with our natural weather for many many decades now as patents go back to the late 1800s. This underground facility was designed and constructed during WWII to replace above ground fuel tanks that were susceptible to air attack / sabotage. Anything military facility this old (80+ yrs) is likely to be neglected and in disrepair. It seems the repair / maintenance contractor may have done shoddy work and the navy cut corners concerning quality assurance. There should be an investigation, an engineering resurvey and an expedited remediation / repair process. Also a cost analysis done for a replacement facility, but with the growing security threat and the huge replacement cost, it's unlikely this facility will be shut down.

Putting that toxic tank so close to the drinking water supply makes about as much sense as having your toilet in the middle of your kitchen so you can take a crap while preparing your food.
I love the Navy captain with the " We test the water exhaustedly ....once a quarter." So every 3 months, so the water can easily be insanely polluted in just 2 months and this guy has the balls to say it's "exhaustedly" tested.

The Kingdom of Hawaii is a sovereign nation which has treaties with most of Europe and The United States. During the 1890’s the navy wanted to take over the country for a permanent station in the Pacific so it could wage war on the Philippines and other islands and secure guano and sugar. At one point the United States congress sat around and voted among themselves to make another sovereign nation their territory like if Belgium’s parliament got together and decided among themselves that Tennessee was now a suburb of Brussels and used the military to make it so. To avoid war Queen Iolani agreed by treaty to allow the U.S. marines to have temporary police powers in the Kingdom until the Hawaiian government could resume those powers noting that the decision was made under duress. There was never a treaty of annexation and to this day under law the U.S. only maintains what is known as belligerent occupation of the Kingdom of Hawaii . This means that all nations holding treaties with Hawaii including the U.S.are under violation of the Geneva Convention as belligerent or persistent occupation does not constitute annexation. In other words no matter how long the U.S. occupies Hawaii It remains the nation of the Kingdom of Hawaii by U.S. and international law.

If anyone's interested, How to Hide an Empire by Daniel Immerwahr is a great book on this (and Cuba - until 1958 of course ha, Phillipines, etc), as well as the implicit/explicit propaganda used to conceal any of the actual sphere of influence (hence the book title lol) and "manufacture consent". Perhaps interestingly or frighteningly or uhh idk, just something to keep in mind I guess, as you've pointed out essentially, is Carl Schmitt's (actual nazi) conception of the "sovereign" in polisci parlance was sort of a break in the conventional Hobbes/Lockean understanding of the sovereign as the leviathan state enforcer of the law whose legitimacy is granted through consent of the governed was recast as the institutional entity that gets to decide the state of exception (as they necessarily supersede the law itself, which is fickle as demonstrated like every day sadly, proven unstable after those world war things of course and where we slipped in to assert power economically through Bretton-Woods and leveraged by not being bombed to shit, etc.), which guided a more conscious understanding of power for these insane -demons- guys obviously, the CIA in particular seems to have _really_ taken this to heart just looking at...well literally anything they do.

Unfortunately, this is just one event out of many when it comes to environmental terrorism by the US government. Many people in New Mexico have been fighting the water contamination due to millions of gallons of jet fuel leaking into the ground near the main water aquifers. Those aquifers are also the only really clean water source the city of Albuquerque has. If it's not Kirtland Air force base, it's Sandia labs, Los Alamos Labs, etc... That are continually making NM a health hazard zone. The EPA also does a piss poor job of regulating industry from water/air contamination. If you sign up for or manage to get ahold of the listings of industrial contamination leaks in Albuquerque, especially by the oil and gas business, it will blow your mind at how many incidents there are.
Was stationed at Camp Lejeune and El Toro in California as a young Marine. Some years ago I recieved letters about exposure to unsafe drinking water while on Camp Lejeune. Then another about El Toro. 30 years too late! Those letters were just lip service.

This happened in Enid Oklahoma also and it got deemed a superfund site but the water is still bad. Salt water disposal wells don’t help, I hope this gets talked about too

There is an Army base in Pennsylvania that needs to be investigated. All the locals talk about the batteries and other toxic waste that is dumped & no doubt is contaminating the water but they all shrug it off. To have a job there means they can (almost) pay their bills so it's swept under the rug.
