I grew to love the song of the opening. At first I thought it didn't fit the game at all, but after finishing some parts are just too sad and I love it.
If only Valkyria Chronicles reached the level of Monster Hunter or Final Fantasy in the west. This game has the potential of being a realistic turn based RTS with FPS mechanics. I mean your entire platoon has it's own personality in combat with their own individual stress levels and quirks. I haven't seen any other game like it tbh.
@@oh4835There's also a quirk in VC4 which when a character sees the person they like (like their own family/friend) fell from battle, they either have stats increased or decreased.
Great gameplay, good characters, but probably the worst story in the franchise ... is not like is all that bad, but is dumb and gets dumber. Still a great game that I enjoyed a lot

There was a stress mechanic? Permadeath yes, but don't think i saw some form of stress affecting squad members
@@oh4835certain traits can affect your units if they are low on AP in a single turn. Like if you move the same unit consecutively in a single turn.
