This is the best video I've seen so far. Some of the others were scary! However, Im still curious why you would use a slide sheet to place a patient on their side when you log roll them onto their side in the first place to put the slide sheet under them?

If you just roll the patient to his side, the patient will be at the edge of the bed, most of the time being scared. Using the slide sheet to place the patient on their side will keep them in the middle of the bed. And like keystoASMR said down, if the patient find it difficult to roll you can use a rolling rolling method (I would prefer) or unravelling method to insert the slide sheet under patient without the need of rolling (because of patient's pain, motion sickness from rolling side to side etc)

Very helpful information, but the continuous background music became so distracting, it was affecting my ability to really concentrate on what the moderator was saying exactly. Caregiver for immobile husband and already pretty stressed, so no music at all would have been so much better.

Believe feet should NOT be pointed in direction of move, this reduces chances of twisting

Totally agree. If using R.E.B.A (rapid entire body assessment - a tool used to measure the risk for different positions of the body) will score a higher risk. And in their technique they are using the upper body instead of using their big leg muscle by transferring they body weight from one foot to another, and pulling instead of pushing. Different technique but with a reduced risk for caregiver.
