The Emoji Movie taught me what a perfect masterpiece is!
The AtZ Show Not a movie, but I learned a lot from Dragon Ball Z. That show taught me to always strive to be the best you could possibly be. To don't let others tell you what your limits are. The pride you have for yourself can motivate to achieve greatness, to pass said limits. At the same time, don't over do it. That same pride could lead to disastrous results that could you and others close to you.

I think of Spirited Away whenever I get a new job. The scene of Chihero (don't know if i spelt that name right) yelling at Yubaba and demanding for a job in the bathhouse even though she was told upfront to get lost always makes me try to assert myself even further when going for a position I want.

I don't get people saying "animation is fake". All films, all shows, all fiction is fake, Micheal Keaton doesn't actually think he can fly and a fish monster didn't really find love; but these films are great because they understand that things that aren't real might just tell the truth

Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of my favorite movies period because it handles topics like self-discovery, meaning, and having a mid-life crisis very maturely and makes it so that pretty much anyone of any age can enjoy it. It needs more recognition.
This channel is so underrated and it needs to have more subscribers
Prince of Egypt and Spirit from Dreamworks, both stories depicted the horrors of a life without freedom and that there will be consequences if you choose to fight for it, be it for yourself or a community. Also taught me the importance of trust, responsibility and self sacrifice of oneself for others.

A silent voice taught me that people can change. People who you thought were your friends can grow apart and people you despised can be some of the most positive influences in your life. Its a stunning movie and i really suggest it

How did no one say Iron Giant? It’s the most memorable movie from my childhood and I can still watch it today and end up crying like a baby the last time when he says ”Superman” as he makes his sacrifice. Not only does it have a very relevant message on gun violence but it talks about what death means and tells the message of ”you are who you choose to be”. It is also verrrry well written with many funny moments and great character, not sugar coating the adult world or melting it down to be simply a PG kids movie. It is a well rounded and complex movie, tackling important themes and that made me realize that life doesn’t always having a perfect happy ending but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t optimistic.

For me it would be Ice Age and Shrek, not exactly because of the film itself but because it’s the films that would be played in spanish on a Saturday night. It was a film my hispanic dad could understand while me and my brothers could enjoy too. So it was a good bonding moment.

I have to say that I feel like animation usually touches us the most because it touches our most vulnerable yet pure time of our memory, therefore can somehow outrace live actions

Shrek 2: Fathers in law are real dickheads.
Avatar: Don't be a racist.
Monsters Inc. : Do not open your closet.
The Incredibles: Beer gives you superstrength.
The movie that had the most impact for me, was...I actually do not know. I have seen too many, but probably The Lion King or Treasure Planet.
Lion King taught me: To be brave and protect the ones I love.
Treasure Planet: That no matter what people think of you, stay yourself and stay true to your values.

Everyones fine now except my second oldest sister she passed in 2015. But yeah i took advantage of the title “big sister”

Treasure Planet! I always had a tough relationship with my step father. But this movie, especially now, taught me just because he was hard on me doesn't mean he didn't love me. The Boy and The Beast carried on this theme for me more recently. Great video!
Straight up Surfs Up is such an underrated movie. I think I've seen that movie more than any other animated film and reminds me of road trips with my younger siblings.
Bruuuuuuuuh, Big Hero 6 had such a huge impact on me. It taught me to not bottle up your feelings and the importance of communication and using your gifts/talents for good. ✨

Pixar's Brave. It's not a movie that'd be in their top 5, but I felt my relationship with my mom reflected in Merida and her mom. The girl who doesn't care how messy her hair looks like and doesn't want to be a younger version of her elegant mother and thus can't see how much she is loved. Family relationships have their ups and downs, and we need to work together to pull through towards a better understanding of one another.
Spirited Away traumatized me so much.I was so mortified,having your parents stripped away from you and condemned to such an awful fate,and then being on your own in a world full of sticky blob monsters where everything is made so you can fail,its just so horrible
One of my childhood favorites was Return to Neverland. It was one of the few times my dad took me to see an animated movie (usually it was my mom that took me to the animated ones or he and mom took me to see what they wanted.) Anyway, the movie hit home with the idea that it was okay to be serious at times and to pay careful attention to phrasing, as well as the importance of remembering the good parts and balancing them with the worse moments.
Mary & Max as well as Nausicaä are without a doubt the ones, that had the biggest impact on me. From the serious storytelling, the music and the artwork. Just love those!
This channel is amazing , and this video is proof that Animation is more than a genre . Honestly for me , animation is a way to explore stories and things that you can't ( at least in a serious way ) explore in live action movies
My favorite childhood animation is ( Mulan ) , I love how rebellious she was and how she was struggling to fit into society perception for her .She was brave , strong , independent and just showing that following your own way is always worth it no matter what the society tells you
I also loved ( Hercules ) , also about the struggle to fit in and finding your own place and finally to accept your uniqueness , and the dubbed version was hilarious af :D
The Iron Giant is a great lesson on violence and ahem *gun control* he was a weapon but only as a defense mechanism, he wouldn’t hurt anyone for no reason. I also like when Hogarth says, “it’s bad to kill, it’s not bad to die”
As i kid I loved the 1950's disney Cinderella because it showed how, no matter how shitty of a situation you are in at the moment, things eventually get better.
The Land Before Time had a huge impact on me.

How to train your dragon is my favourite animated movie because it taught me that your appearance doesn't define who you are and you should always standby what you believe in
Toy Story 3 is my most favorite at least Disney film if anything of any kids film. A film that says you can grow up but actually still be a kid. Makes you cry.
I watched Wall-E and the series finale of the best cartoon ever, Avatar The Last Airbender, on the same day. Needless to say so many tears were shed that day. Wall-E's ending had be sobbing.
My favorite animated movie is Ratatouille. I love the scene at the end with Ego zooming back to his childhood, showing that even bitter old men were innocent children at one point and that those same bitter old men can find joy even after years of cynicism and cold heartedness.
Also this line gets me in the the feels every time: “not anyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere”
Thank you for doing this video :) I really love Don Bluth animated films since they tell real stories about kids and not just fairy tales like Disney often does. Like Land Before Time, American Tale and All Dogs Go to Heaven. Big fan of Disney's Oliver and Company which is a spin off on Oliver Twist, but really is a kids perspective (Oliver & Jenny) and about friendship or the family you choose. Fern Gully is beautiful with a great soundtrack and love story teaching kids about how we treat nature. The Triplets of Belleville and The Old Lady And The Pigeons because Sylvain Chomet is a genius at storytelling, creativity and animation. The Danish director Jannik Hastrup also made great animated films like War of the Birds or Samson & Sally - also told from child characters perspectives (birds and whales) based on great Danish children's books. I also really loved Project A-ko, which was my introduction to anime - which was mostly about having weird super strength, building robots, girl drama and crushes (on each other) and just really funny :) Big fan of Hayao Miyazaki, and My Neighbor Totorois is definitely my favorite. It was the first I saw of his movies, and again told from children's perspective, and about grief/ losing someone since the girls see Totoro because their mother is dying.
I recently saw My Neighbor Totoro and brought me back to that childhood wonder. My favorite animated film.

I bloody love movies with Mikey his break downs are pieces of art
I have a few animations that I think shaped me a lot at different points in my life (and not all are movies). Jane and the Dragon taught me I could combine my favourite two things at the time (princesses and knights), and gave me a pretty cool girl to look up to. Sagwa taught me that nobody watched the same stuff I did growing up and also it's a weird world with weird connections (apparently the author of my AP English book also wrote that cartoon that nobody but me, my brother, and Wikipedia seems to know about). Beauty and the Beast taught me that animation could be grim, and since grim is one of my favourite tones in media, I latched onto that one right quick. Inuyasha taught me that anime exists/gave me an actually not too shabby basic knowledge of Japanese folklore/taught me that the adults in my life don't take animation (ESPECIALLY not anime) seriously. Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood taught me that anime specifically can be really serious, and gave me a solid primer on how messy war can be. Princess Mononoke taught me that people aren't necessarily good or bad sometimes; often, we're just getting by in disruptive ways that could stand to be healed. Akira taught me that there is at least one anime on this planet that my mom won't make racist jokes about. Avatar: The Last Airbender taught me a lot about what I know when it comes to character writing and worldbuilding (if my worldbuilding procedures aren't from Tolkien, they're probably from ATLA). And finally, The Black Cauldron taught me that Disney is really good at fucking up excellent movies sometimes (seriously, could we hand it over to some of the folks who moved to Ghibli after working on the Last Unicorn, bc I would LOVE to see a Last Unicorn/Ghibli mashup style for that movie, and more of the freaky elements that were cut).

Peter Pan(1953) because personally not having the best childhood I was obsessed with the idea of Neverland that you can runaway to and never grow up and just be you. Growing up I know that there is obviously no real Neverland but you can find YOUR Neverland, your passion, your thing that you use as an escape from the real world and just create and be you.

Funny enough I thought Toy Story 2 was the first. So I have way more attachment to that story but abandonment and being there for someone even though you have very little time hit me hard.
Also Hunchback of Notre Dame taught me animation can be ballsy with hellish imagery but beautiful as well.

Our Seven Days War is a really underrated anime movie. It taught me to be a real person. I would highly recommend everyone to watch that movie.
I remember Pocahontas really affecting me as a kid because her connection with nature and animals. Also there was a show they did at Disney World that made me cry happy tears for the first time when I was 4.
