Yeah. It's so sad because I thought Cutter became so much wiser and funnier in S3, and it was so heartbreaking to see him die so early. Cutter and Stephen, we will always remember you.
I was 7 when I saw this for the first time, I didn't even understand english, but I understood the story, but not how emotional this was. I almost cried when I rewatched this almost 10 years later. I regret nothing.
Stephen went out doing what he did best: being a badass. It's so sad that people like Matt, Becker and Jess never met him. I can only imagine how close Becker and Stephen would have been. Goodbye Stephen. We will always remember you.
I highly doubt Becker and Stephen would have been close at all. Stephen could be impulsive and wasn't really a fan of the military or the government. Moreover, Becker keeps to himself and wasn't especially close to the team.
Becker was very close to the team but tried to maintain a professionalism that the other members mostly ignored. It made him seem more distant than he really was
For me, this was the first TV death were I was truly heart broken. I was ten years old and I thought that steven would escape at the last minute but only to realize, that great writing doesn't work like that. Primeval season 1 and especially 2 was a great show and Stephan's death is what got me into writing great character deaths for my writing. I saw deaths before in TV but they never got me like this before. The Acting, the Music and the tension is what made this such a great scene. Plus I love Dinosaurs and Prehistoric beasts.
Such a sad, but amazing scene. This is a scene where the music of Dominik is really powerful. One of the saddest and best death scenes in my opinion. In the whole tv/movie industry. Thank you for uploading this masterpiece. Even tho i have everything on DVD myself. It is just awesome that i can rewatch my favorite scenes on youtube
Stephen was my favorite throughout the entire show, seeing him go out was sad, but it was a good and powerful death for him. My only gripe is that they axed you know who literally 4 episodes later, and that was probably the biggest mistake the show ever made. Anyways RIP Stephen, you're a true hero!
Late reply but they didn't axe you know who the actor chose to leave and the show had no choice but to axe his character since he made it clear he was never coming back to the show.
@@jedininja3016 fair enough. Still a shame because primeval kinda dipped in quality afterwards. Still a solid show no doubt, but i think S1 and S2 were the best.
One of the most powerful deaths in Primeval. Stephen was almost the black sheep of the group causing a lot of conflict by sleeping with Helen which annoyed Nick, then trying to convince the exposure of the anomalies, not being there for the team when the mammoth was on the loose in the M25, falling for Helen’s lies about Lester being the enemy and even messing Abby and Connor around when Abby fancied Stephen. In the end he emerged a noble hero through his sacrifice, though I would have loved Helen to do it but she never would lol. Stephen Hart had the heart and bravery to save his best friend and sacrifice himself. Series 2 is my favourite and the ending really hits hard when Stephen dies
To this day I’ve only watched this episode once and I cried so badly, Stephen was one of my favourites (and a crush of mine) and he died not knowing the real truth. For me this was the saddest death in Primeval and it was so brutal, Stephen didn’t deserve that. 😢😭🤧
It was certainly a scene that HAD to be uploaded to our channel at some point! Even more so since the other versions on UA-cam aren't very good (quality wise).
This must of been one of the UK's best TV Sci-Fi programs made. I really enjoyed the adventures the teams had trying to stop creatures from the past taking over the current world. Nick was a great guy, and then they had the new guy Danny join the team. I really wish we had an episode where Danny and Nick worked together. They were great in the show. I think the last episode was good as it seemed to conclude a lot of the entire series, but they left the slight part at the ending for a possible future. So I am happy with its ending, but still sad its not back on anymore.
Damn, if we were seeing the whole thing from Cutter's POV, it must have been an insanely gruesome scene with all those predators ganging up on Stephen at once
One of the three fictional characters I will never get over. For the most of season two I kept yelling at him ''you idiot, don't do that'', but then this happened, and now, my mind is fucked up forever. The worst death in history of television.
I really liked this because I have seen Primeval so much I can't count But Stephen was the most best animal hunter I know and he left In a blaze of glory
loved this series during the first 2 seasons but then it seemed that the main focal point was the romance between abby and connor and things just went to hell, far be it from me if you're in a world where ancient predators are appearing at random all over the place and it's your job to try to contain them whilst at the same time making sure you don't become their next meal then your relationship with your colleague would be the last thing on you mind
@Spinerko SK Just because it was in a desert, doesn't mean it was Velociraptor. That's like saying an amur leopard is a snow leopard because it lives in snow
This scene was the first time I ever cried at a TV show. I remember watching it on air in my brothers room (I didn't have a TV) and crying into his pillow.
I will always remember Steven's death. We were at Centre Parks watching the TV in the cabin and my Mum had just nipped to the loo when it happened and me and my brother just started screaming that Steven's dead. A core memory
I don't want to think about it but I am really curious ! What animal does anyone think, attacked first ? I always thought the further predators attacked Stephen together and then the other animals fought the predators and each other
A great scene but on re-watching it there are 2 things that sort of bug me. 1. They're closing the door to stop the creatures getting out, yet the creatures don't pass by our characters to enter the room and continue to enter after the door is shut. That means there must still be an unobstructed way into the room: if there is why do the creatures stay and kill each other instead of slowly drifting back out of the room again? 2. Cutter clearly deliberately lifts his leg to destroy the outside controls with his foot.Upon bringing up the problem he decides in about 10 seconds to go back in and get mauled to death only for his friend to die instead. That's really sinister and could have created a fascinating character study for series 3 so it's a dreadful shame that behind the scenes issues prevented it from having a chance to be realised.
What bugs me is that Helen hit the button outside the door before, clearly to close it off before exiting the room. The button was right next to the door. I’m not any kind of mechanic or engineer, but it seems to me that automatic doors like that don’t just snap shut. There’s a second or two while it closes. Meaning that, since the control was right next to the door on the inside, someone could press the button and get in before the door closes. Now, if the door control was on the hanging control panel? Absolutely. It’s a death that makes sense. But as it is, it seems like a death for the sake of the “oh shit they actually did that!”
1. The door they close is the ENTRANCE Leek's facility is massive. The area Nick, Helen and Stephen are in is where the creatures were held in pens, and the alarm sound is a feeding bell which instinctively draws the creatures back. They don't come through the electric door they come from all over the facility. 2. Nick likely broke the controls by accident while attempting to save his wife from being eaten. We all do stupid stuff when we're not thinking straight.
no, the mer queen wasn't there. (the giant mer creature with red instead of blue-ish) but they probably kept the gorgonopsid away cause if they escaped it would've killed every other carnivore xD
My only problem is he did it to save Cutter only for him to die 3 episodes later. If Helen died there, It would have saved lots of troubles in Season 3.
@@remynatorrr5011 if they have Connor, Abby, Becker and Lester. It will still be interesting for me. At least they still have characters from the first 3 series right. That the only reason I still watch it after Nick died because I was still interested in them.
