Me and my girlfriend broke up two weeks ago. This song helps me to reminisce of all our memories in a good sense, and close this chapter in life. I am writing a last letter to her while listening to you, before I have to move on.
@@spabble It depends on the contents of the letter. If the relationship ended on good terms, a final parting goodbye can be very cathartic and help you move on.
Never heard of Laufey but this is spectacular! The sound of this piano has a way of piercing the soul. Or perhaps its the progressions of the song. sounds like a river that slowly dries over time, revealing the corrosion beneath. reminds me, weirdly, of Mia and Sebastian's theme.
Jeez. To love Birru is one thing, to love Laufey is another - but to love BOTH of them? To have one of your favourite artists cover one of your favourite songs? This is such a blessing to my ears. Thank you, and I'm really excited for the upcoming covers!!
And here are the lyrics: It always goes like this Could've predicted it I'm so naive to think you loved me for me Kissed as I ran off stage Too old to play this game Guess you're still growing up at thirty Oh Were you surprised by me When you took me home? When the glamor wore off Reduced to skin and bone I can't even tell Who you want to know I'm a goddess on stage Human when we're alone You took a star to bed Woke up with me instead You must have felt so damn deceived When you made up a version of Me that you thought you'd love But I am not your Aphrodite Oh Were you surprised by me When you took me home? When the glamor wore off Reduced to skin and bone I can't even tell Who you want to know I'm a goddess on stage Human when we're alone You took me for a fool You stole my youth You wanted this so much You watched me rise Then killed my light And now you know I'm not your fucking goddess Oh, oh I'm no goddess when I'm alone Thanks for this Birru ❤
I've spent the whole morning procrastinating all my chores, and I've watched 3 of your videos and I've already finished more than half of my chores, tysm 😭
I just learned the accompaniment to this Laufey Song a while back, but it sounds so heavenly in your version, imma have to relearn it, amazing job as always on this one
I don't know what it is about this version but it's absolutely amazing! Goosebumps, literally goosebumps! It really touched me to the core especially the crescendo at the end! I am really thrilled to hear that you work on even more Laufey covers and I can't wait to hear them!
I seldom leave comments, but I have to say this is breathtaking. I am on the 5th repeat now. As a self taught piano player, it's those beautiful arrangements like this that keep me motivated to keep practicing. :) thank you, sincerely.
I saw the piano and I knew it was a song from you, but I didn't read which one, I just pressed on the video. And listening to the song I was like „I never heard this one”, just to realize that it was a new one. Great work!
i don’t know much about the piano so can a lovely viewer who understands the technicalities please answer my question! I have listened to many piano renditions on yt but his sounds somehow different? how exactly is he playing the piano to make it sound so angelic like? Is it a certain style ?? or is it just because he so talented with it (i mean that’s a given) lmao 😂 i love to know thanks !
As a fellow pianist I can say there's multiple layers to it. It's definitely some sort of of style, because I've heard multiple people play very similarly to Birru, such as Matsuii. But I don't think there's an official name for it. But the main idea behind all of those arrangements is similar - love, and longing, conflict of emotions, where you're longing to be with someone, you're feeling butterflies in your stomach, or the love is a distant memory, unreciprocated, or lost forever. I'll try to name a few techniques that I think are at play in this particular arrangement, as best as I understand them: 1. First, the difference between the hands. The right hand is playing in major progression, very melodical, calm, and happy tone, but the left hand is playing the opposite - a minor, melancholic chord progression, which creates this bittersweet feeling, where it's both sad and happy at the same time. 2. The chord progression itself can completely change the feel of the piece and just by changing the chords, you can make the same melody sound so different. Even a subtle change will have a big effect. For example, this song features a lot of seventh chords, which are often used in music to add a feeling of longing (or similar). Because you aren't playing a full octave but moving the highest note of a chord down a step (and playing the 7th note from the scale instead), it adds subtle tension, making the chord feel less full, yet still melodic and beautiful. It might also add more depth to it, give the impression that it is more sophisticated. (honestly 7th chords are my favorite chords) 3. The left hand is always returning to playing the same pattern all throughout the piece, making it feel familiar, as though you're going on small walks and coming back home. It works as a kind of anchor that everything is built around, making for a cozy, familiar feel. 4. The tempo. It's not strictly even, nor is it trying to be. the piece is constantly slowing down and speeding up, as though it was breathing, it feels more like a walk in the park than a robotic, perfect, flawless performance. The imperfect tempo makes it feel more casual, comfy, calm. There's probably more to it than that, but this should give you a rough idea. Hope it helps, at least a little bit!
@@MysterV omg thank you so much for this detailed explanation ! I will screenshot this comment for later reference. I’m just at the beginning of my piano learning journey so i’m not in a position to experiment with these techniques yet but i’m definitely looking forward to when i can ☺️ i really appreciate your input 🙏
Can you please make covers if classical artists composed it of I Hope to be Around by Men I Trust and/or Come To My Garden by Minnie Riperton? It would make my dreams come true!!
Soy de México y recien veo tus videos, muchas felicidades por tu talento y que lindas melodias, I wonder... Don't you have your covers in any plataform or Spotify?, honestly I'd like to listen to you or add covers to any playlist, thanks my man

do not write a last letter, it'll manipulate both her and your feelings
I'm very sorry to hear that. From your words it seems that you are very mature and I'm sure everything will go very well for you! ❤️🫂

I swear man, you deserve heaven, making this covers and also attatching the sheet music without trying to sell me a course, i love you
