Firstly, thank you for such great coverage and commentary. Happy to see Rebecca on the mic. The ladies, as usual are all playing awesome. Regarding Sai's short run up, she explained that in one of her videos. I think it was a recent practice round video where she was by herself. She said it's because during a longer run up, her form deteriorates, so, for a long time, she just threw standstill and has now begun incorporating the short run up that you see. She said that at some point, if it actually seems to equate to more distance, she may try a bit longer run up. As a beginner, I can completely relate as I have the same problem. I'm guessing that most pros are so far beyond that that they've forgotten about it. Sai is one of my new favorite players. I'm noticing that my list of favorite players is getting so long as to be unmanageable ! Thanks again.
Sai's putting stance reminds me of the classic karate masters' stances. Low center of gravity and perfectly balanced so that she has a consistent stable platform. She takes as many of the variables out of the putt as she can and is then able to concentrate on the flight.
How did Missy get a par on 4? I counted 5 strokes (one out the gap, OB on the upshot, approach to the green and putt for 4 shots and a penalty stroke) Did she throw a provisional or something where they let her advance?
She did throw a provisional. After they crossed they had a discussion with the card and the spotter. Spotter said it never crossed while the card was half and half. Eventually they decided it did cross and let her play from the original throw. Afterwards they showed the slow mo catch cam angle and it definitely never crossed so yeah they gifted her a stroke pretty much.
@@elscorpio_official This rule has to be changed, it's impossible to be certain without checking camera footage and leads so often to discussion. It makes no sense anyway because the only important thing is where the disc lands. At the end of the day players will be behind Missy because of a wrong decission.
@@eudyptes5046 Our sport is in the very early stages of video coverage, to change a rule like that would be stupid and unfair for every other card that doesn't get coverage. It absolutely makes sense for this exact situation, you play the disc from where it was LAST in bounds. Benefit always goes to the player.
Not quite sure what's the "technical" reason to do live scores like that. But I find the "everyone thru same as lead card" much more comprehensible. I was pausing the vid every time on your R1 to check the chart. I'm your average viewer who doesn't really know that much except "bucket lid go whoosh".
I’ve always absolutely loved the two hot geese commentary. But it’s a very special treat to get to have Rebecca commentating. She’s such nice in person. She’s got so much knowledge and experience. Honk honk! The people demand Rebecca to fill in more in the future when needed! 😂 🐘
Genuine question: when Kristin is doing her jump putts, both her feet leave the ground prior to actually releasing the putter in the slo-mez video. I'm newer, but I thought at least one foot had to remain planted until the disc was released. Even outside C1, just a little confused why it's not a foot fault.
@@suziewagner9342incorrect. One point of contact has to remain behind the lie until after release as well. To answer this question, many people push this very close but it is never called. Too hard to tell live.
Yeah I understand but this sport no one really calls foot faults unless it is really noticeable like you fall forward or something. And sometimes players call them when they are really salty. And it’s a sport where all the players have to agree on the foot fault call for anything to be held against them and often calls for arguments so I guess they are all trying to avoid that by only calling ones that are so obvious you don’t need a camera to see.
In any case, Kristin is the wrong subject for this question. She rarely makes jump puts but other ladies and, even more so, many male players make a lot of jump puts and many are illegal to a blind person, no matter how you read the rules.
13:52 1 16:28 2+OB stroke = 3 16:53 4 from DZ, lands ~15ft deep at 16:59 17:56 5 from erroneous provisional(?), ~10ft pin high If there was another putt (the 15ft deep one) that wasn't filmed that went in, it still would be a bogey 5.
She didn't throw from the drop zone, that was a provisional from where she last crossed OB, later the card decided she crossed by the tree off her 2nd throw so she eneded up putting for 4 and the provisional throw that went deep didn't count.
Either change it or don’t change it. I’d prefer the scoring to match what hole the card is on. It often ruins it for other post produced coverage. But regardless just make up your mind for crying out loud 😭
Yeah, I'm watching this late, but looking at the comments, I need to raise the minority voice and say that live style scores is indeed the way to go. That is truer to what the golfers see, not "how was everyone at this point in the course", which btw, can only be really seen by the lead card, but rather, what is everyone's score at this moment in time.
@JomezPro Audio Guys, 1:30 is literally the worst music transition I have ever heard. Not only is the tuning dropping from 440 to whatever ungodly lower tuning this year’s theme song is in, but the music fading is on a minor 3rd and the incoming music is on a major 3rd. Why, why is this happening?? It’s so incredibly bad. I beg you, please fix this.
Yeah I kinda agree, like why are we pretending it's live when it's post produced...plus, it honestly suck for last rounds when there are for example chase card winners and the scoreboard kinda spoils who even has a chance a few holes to the end. Dunno, personal preference.
@@ondrejbarinka9252 Couldn't agree more! Like, if Jomez wants to innovate something, why not innovate proper and consistent color grading? Or innovate putting lie discussions into the coverage? Why does it have to be spoilers? 😅
They didn't even mention Madison Walker????? She is playing in this as well!!!! Never a good sign!!! Was there a falling out!??!?!?! Need to know what happened!! This is what makes Disc Golf more interesting!!!! Didn't do it in the 1st round as well!!!
Your MPO videos have 5-6x the views of FPO and yet your FPO is the editing priority? Personally, im going to watch whatever coverage of mpo releases first as spoilers are hard enough to avoid. I just came to say i REALLY MISS waking up with Jomez coverage and coffee. It was a ritual for years and a large part of my personal experience with disc golf. Waiting until Saturday night to watch Fridays play aint gonna cut it. It was fun Jomez. But yall got it twisted. You will bleed views until you change this.
FPO finishes several hours before MPO, so why wouldn't they edit them first? Watch whatever you want. The videos have always released later in the day when they are on the west coast (time change). Go play a round or something. You used to have to wait for the DVD to come out.
@@takman17 Why wait/why edit differently? Because your competitors are getting coverage of the higher viewed player field out 10 to 13 hours before Jomez does. Obviously. I'm not watching two sets of coverage for the same round. I'm watching whichever comes first/ideally first thing in the morning. Got shit to do, like, go play a round ;) the view counts don't lie. Jomez has been bleeding while other channels grow.

Shouldve shown the discussion of missys 2nd shot on hole 4 and also noted provisional on her shot from DZ so it made sense to the audience
Thank you. I was trying to figure out how that was a par.
Yeah. Very confused by that. Thank you for explaining that was a provisional, definitely on commentary to say that.

Sai is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
Loving her preparation routine. Two reps without the disc and then chuck it in the basket with the exact same motion. Love it.
"Cox-Comb Commentary" is great but i still think "Becca with the good Hair-ica" is a solid runner-up choice

13:52 1
16:28 2+OB stroke = 3
16:53 4 from DZ, lands ~15ft deep at 16:59

The scale of teepad usage goes from James Conrad to Sai Ananda 🤣
If Rebecca ever hosts with Madison, it will be the "Cock of the Walk" commentary team.
“Live scores” means someone didn’t want to make the effort to make a new graphic. Scores by hole are so much better for the post-produced recap.

How on earth did MG get par on 4th?
Erika clearly called her approach as the 4th shot too.
You can see that her putt is from where her second throw crossed in bounds.
Her “4th throw” as an approach was most likely a provisional
