I'm married to the same kind of man that you are. He's getting less miserable now that he's 64 and he's been retired since he was 55. It took 9 years for him to get normal again. He made a lot of money when he was working but at a cost of his well-being and his healthy mind. Now he's the man of my dreams.
Great video. You are certainly in your element out on the land with the sheep. I can see the happiness and "this is my happy place" expressions...such a hard worker. Looks great on you. Love it! PS might I remind O that keeping that camera running keeps us 11.3K+ coming back, supporting valuable farmers (you & O) and hopefully bringing a few more pounds to your coffer! :) Looking forward to the nest vid!
Great driving as usual oliver! Sheila is so adorable in her Pram❤ and wonderful little Jim is a farmer all the way even when he’s injured😁 and your girls are such great helpers I just love watching Mabel mother everyone ❤❤
Your a hard working girl and you know what you are doing it's good to see people that are not afraid to get their bands dirty the kids will be learning alot about farming with a bit of luck they can take over in later life ..........
Mr happy being miserable never disappoints lol whoops…. Oh….did you?…..omg! Oliver did you let a smile slip…. Just for a second! I had to rewind just to make sure 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
just a thought Sam with that big trailer you collect those pigs you wanted in that and take them back too the farm at 3 week old weaners you would get around 100 or so in there just charge the breeder contractor the cost having too collect them
has someone been chain harrowing or rolling in the field accros the road........theres stripes up and down the field.........you know spring is on the way when you see that although i think spring is little way off yet , we've got snowdrops out here though
I've a question about feeding fodder beets to sheep: how clean do you think they should be of soil, to reduce the risk of listeria to acceptable levels? Most farmers will discard portions of hay bales or silage that are visibly contaminated with soil. Is this even a concern with the beets? They advise us humans to thoroughly scrub root veggies before eating them raw, after all. (not criticizing, just curious).
Usually the farm supplying beets has a cleaning system. Beets are washed after harvesting and then piled up as washed lots awaiting trucking out to farmers such as Sam. They may look dirty on Sam's videos but they definitely look washed to me. They aren't completely mud covered as they come from harvest.
@jimmyjohnstone5878 thanks for the explanation, very interesting, I hadn't thought about them being muddy, but the question from gregedmand intrigued me Geoff
The farming life is tough. Jimmy getting a big beet dropped on his foot...he is a tough one though and kept going. I don't like cats. The only one I would have is if I needed vermin control outside. House cat...never. You and Oliver work hard. He never publicly gives you praise but he surely appreciates your 50/50 contribution to the whole process of farm and family life.
Your positivity is infectious Sam. 🎉Maybe a few days away from the farm would be good for Oliver. There might be someone locally that would feed your animals. Just saying.
@GreenGrass24 he definitely wouldn't have anyone else feed his sheep 🤣 but yeh nice thought. We had ride out this afternoon so that's a little break! Thanks best way to be right now 🤣🤣
@@Sam-shuttfarming Thanks for taking the time to answer! Wasn’t sure if it was another Grandma. She’s such a fighter. You come from great stock there Missy!
